A long time ago I dared to say something similar and I was immediately accused of being a racist fuck

 

It's not a matter of race

 

I just don't get it

It's clear that a pattern exists

We got child porn. C'me on! Cut the crap with the "Japanese women look younger" argument. It's plain bullshit. Anime girls and Skirim kids have been raped knowing they are 8 years old in the story.

People killing themselves for depression. I understand honor suicide as it is an old tradition, but depression suicide tells us something is wrong

 

That is what the western world receives as cultural image of Japan though anime and other stuff

That is what "weeaboos" or "wapanese" stand for. Most of them probably never went to Japan

I don't know Japan or the real culture in there. I just know what their exports tell us about them and maybe it's wrong

 

I understand the "freedom of fantasy" speech, and it's right, it doesn't harm anyone as long as it's a fantasy

But doesn't it tell you something about their mind?

You can defend fantasy pedos all you want. Sure it's harmless. Doesn't take the twisted out of it

 

And don't get me started on how strange it seems to the that Japan is known as the lead country in killing whales. Sure fuck the whales said the pile of shit who calls himself a human. I'm not Greenpeace nor do I have special concerns for animals but they are a species IN DANGER with as much right to live in peace as we have. As there are no "lesser races" there should be no "lesser species" Who the fuck do those people think they are.

 

Japanese people are smarter than most westerners. Kids are geniuses in music by the age of 2. Some of them are really sensitive. Japanese modders can kick the crap out of westerners with their rare and exotic mods light years ahead of ours. But most Japanese culture seems to be cold regarding emotion expression in many cases. Very often, smart only makes you crazier and that goes for the west too. Crazy is not necessarily bad but it has great potential for it.

 

They have a very rich culture and a beautiful country for what it seems

 

It is said that some honor and loyalty codes still run deep in culture and that's probably a good thing... to a point where it's reasonable...

 

I enjoy anime and I have learned a few words and a few things about their culture though distance.

As much as I like my anime, I'm sick of these cliches popping all over the place, specially rape and tentacles. Is it THAT common? Tentacles are an institution over there. Keep then in Hentai but get them the fuck away from my favorite non-adult anime please

 

Now you could start the shitstorm and accuse me of racism again, but It's not about race it's about behavior. The pattern is undeniable and it freaks me out. I respect other cultures, and sure they are different. It still freaks me out, not from a western point of view, but from a human one.

 

It may be that this is just the darker side getting known. Sure there are many good and wonderful things about Japanese culture and people I know it... But it's these twisted concepts what fills the market of weaboos

 

I've gone a bit off topic but it relates though the point that weaboos idolize and worship all things Japanese as divine and their minds are gorging with these concepts. And to me, that... is concerning

I respect people from all cultures, races, creeds and colors but I'm worried about the increasing amount of insanity around the world.

You say that they "probably" have wonderful culture but you reduce it to rape and tentacles.... Way to go.

I have never been in japan but I was in south korea and I have seen normal people, and whom I meet was more friendlily than xenophobic "westerners"

 

Adding to that I actually know Japan history, at last enough to understand that they grown from different roots than "normal" "westerners"

 

I do not read manga.

I watch anime maybe once a year.

I watch a bit of anime, read a bit of manga... But I only make it past the first episode/book of maybe one out of every twenty series'.

While I've watched/read these mediums almost my entire life, I don't consider myself an "otaku"---nor do i understand why people would want to self identify as such.

Hell,  I've never used any words such as "kawaii" or "desu" outside of ironic mocking, nor have I ever used the word sugoi (the fuck does that mean, anyway?)

There are a few good series out there worth remembering(Full Metal Alchemist, Steins;Gate, Chobits) and quite a few more are good popcorn flicks good for watching and tossing away----though an exceedingly large portion of them are simple cash grabs meant for children over in Japan: A portion that is only growing.

This can also be seen in that the average age of the main cast has dropped from early-mid 20's to early-mid teens.

I don't know about Korea, but if you consider "westerners" xenophobic compared to Japanese, you don't know much of Japan. Precisely, one of my roommates majors in eastern asian culture and politics (China, Korea and Japan) and for all the papers I've reviewed for him they're one bunch of racist bastards. Generalizing, of course, but the ones you're going to ever meet and befriend are precisely the exception.

I hate the two main groups that come with anime;

 

1) The sub only people, the ones who whine, bitch and moan when an anime is licensed and then dubbed.

2) The dub only people, the ones who whine, bitch and moan when an anime is licensed and then subbed only because it's cheaper and more cost effective.

 

A lot of the anime I have watched has been subbed, but some of my favorite anime (Bebop, Trigunm Ghost in the Shell) are dubbed. I don't personally consider one superior to the other, unless of course one is so sub par and shit (a lot of the late 80s and 90s anime fall into this, but so do later titles), or an obvious comedy version (some hentai does this), but at the end of the day I'm happy if I can find something I like in the language I can understand.

 

I'm more the type who wants to see more stuff released, even if it's only subbed to cut costs to be seen by more people... but I can't mention that in certain places or the legions of fantards will rise against me.

I think a weeaboo is someone overdoing it and going insane over the smallest things like calling their precious anime "cartoons" or raging because you don't like anime. It's like most bronies and "homestucks" or people REALLY INTO ADVENTURE TIME. Internet culture is internet culture.

 

Personally I rather enjoy anime, I also enjoy the rest of Japanese culture and love to learn about it, I'm not obsessed over it, I don't think I'm the descendant of someone from the Uchiha clan* or some shit but I still watch Naruto. Why? Because it keeps me entertained, I know it's not well-written and I know how it goes every time but nonetheless it's fun to watch. I grew up on DBZ and Tom and Jerry, I love cartoons.

In the end it's just another form of escapism.

 

Regardless, I can see why someone would get mad at people overdoing it, saying they love Japan whilst not even knowing who Amaterasu is beyond some Naruto special attack, that bugs me too. To claim you love something and yet only really knowing one thing/embracing one fraction of its entire essence.

 

Like with Bioshock: Infinite and Saint's Row 4... the fans tends to ruin what good can come of some things. I raged once and blocked everyone who even came close to trying to reference either of those games in my general internet space. Why? I had enough of them shoving it down my throat when I clearly stated I would give them a try when I had more money to play with.

 

I rambled a bit but my point is, I like anime but I won't go overboard with it, it's just something I watch same as others like to read books or play vidya gaims but I can see why fanatics[not fans, there's a difference] could ruin it for people.

 

About mods though, in Skyrim I don't mind a little anime weirdness, if anything it keeps me entertained playing a 4-year old game. Modding is about putting something in your game that you enjoy and will have fun with, adding to the value of the game. I have some anime armor in my game because they look cool, it's nothing remotely sexy or skimpy, I hate skimpy armor in general and don't see the point of sex mods, but still.. modding is completely subjective, anime is a popular thing and popular things spread like wild-fire. Though to be honest there's not that many anime mods, it's mostly skimpy armor and retextures nowadays. For Skyrim anyway.

Anyway, that's my six dollars on the matter. I'm sorry if it's a mess.

 

*-You guys know about spirit animals right? Apparently there's people who believe in past lives they were anime characters...

Again, back to topic: I appreciate the genre but to a certain limit; I merely watch anime that I pick carefully (this is why there's freedom of choice; there's still something for anyone) but I don't want the exorbitant and repelling lifestyle the poseurs promote in excess as "showing your enthusiasm for all things Japan". 

 

There is a difference between those wannabes and "Japanologists" (I think those who appreciate the culture intelligently without having to abandon their national identity or language).

Vocally and politically there are even worse xenophobic's in US then Japan.

Luckly it's more open society and still many are fighting these zealots but US have some real nasty ones.

I weigh down my words and if I am to choose betwwen, say, Attack on Titan and Hannibal, I'd take Hannibal. Evangelion? Nope. Megas XLR. Some lengthy anime? How about the abridged series, instead?

I almost never run into real weaboos anymore since I stopped watching anime, so I don't give much of a fuck. Still, to hell with those annoying faggots who like to spout words like desu and kawaii in everyday english.

It's like that one retard in the group that says "LOL" in an actual conversation.
