AwfulArchdemon Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I want Mass Effect 4 to be great so bad... DAI is set up like a MMO. Therefore, they can add some pretty awesome stuff to the game, if they really wanted to. It's the base game we play (as we say when we play EA games), so it's capable of being really fun, but "fun" would need to be added throughout the game when they release their DLC(s). To be more specific, a DLC would need to add cinematic quests and meaningful interactions with already existing NPCs (and cool new ones) instead of adding a 'New Area'. I don't want a new area at all. I want the area we already have to be filled with Dragon Age style quests! And let us please not forget about the ever meaningful faithful hound! I want a dog, dammit! His name will be Scruffy, and he will eat burglars, just like he did in DA2. Please don't make me change my name DAI!

I do not need "mabari", even though I love animals more than anything, but unfortunately you can not comunicate with him! since are me human companion but much prefer with all its quirks and problems.
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 So...you want a Dragon Age 2? At least... I do not need "mabari", even though I love animals more than anything, but unfortunately you can not comunicate with him! <pic of dog> since are me human companion but much prefer with all its quirks and problems. I liked the dog. Not really necessary, but still nice to have around. Pets R good.
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Okay so...not all of us love the dog Hahaha! (poor little guy) (funny how I didn't even mention the prisoner )
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I never actually used him considering he didn't seem to do much besides jump around and bark.
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I suppose his purpose there is just to add a few new dialogue scenes to the game at camp. And to bark...and roll around, and stuff.

Pets R good. yes now I understand your viewpoint, it's not about having a dog as a companion. it just goes about that on the "sky fortress" in which no animals are present, no dogs, no cats! also Cole speaks in the game of cat, but where are they, I have not seen? the only animal is a horse in the stables.
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Speaking of that, I was supposed to get a special horse for getting the Strategy Guide (bought a Strategy Guide for every Bioware game). I didn't see one at the stables.

I dont know whether I understood you correctly, my english is under all "sow". you can not see horses in the stables? you can only see them. if the quest "behind country" in with "stables master" Dennett completed is! I had the first horses already in Haven.
Chaos63 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I never actually used him considering he didn't seem to do much besides jump around and bark. This is a tremendous improvement over some characters. Whenever Alistair or Wynne open their traps, I find myself wishing I brought dog instead.
gregathit Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 You only see one horse at a time and you have to be at the stable to select which one you are going to ride. After getting the horsemaster, you have to actually mount the horse he gives you for the horses to "show up" at your stables.

Plus some of them you have to do war table missions to get. like the Deluxe edition horse for example.
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I meant I don't see more than one horse at the options screen at the stables, where you pick which one you want (in Skyhold). Quote from the Guide: 3 VALUABLEIN-GAME ITEMS* for your Inquisitor: The Primal-Trained Longma unique mount...{snip} Not seeing any Longma, but maybe I do need to do a table quest. I only have like 5 left, though. I got the multiplayer chest it offers, so the code worked...

The dog was the only character I cared about. I hate every other "companion" in that game.
ToJKa Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Meh, i prefer how it was done in DA2, the dog being a summonable pet for PC instead of a full, slot occupying character. And in Origins, i always had a Ranger for that Alas, no pet classes in Inquisition. Well, Necromancer, sort of. But Artificer is quite fun a with my hot female dalish archer

AwfulArchdemon Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Watch this video on YouTube Playback on other websites has been disabled by the video owner. What the hell? I hope this doesn't become too popular... Anyway, time to mod. Good catch, winny257.

I always try to be up to date, but modding DAI seems to be very difficult, especially without construction sets. this means for modder much work.
gregathit Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 The work is underway for tools. My guess is that once the tools are in place that modding will take off. The tools have come further and faster than even the tool makers anticipated. Based on what has happened thus far, tools will be out in 2 months or slightly less. That's faster by 4 months that was predicted earlier. Unless of course they hit some unforeseen snag...........
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Unless of course they hit some unforeseen snag........... Aw! Why'd you have to add that last part? Quick! Knock on wood! But yeah, these tools came out pretty darned quickly. I need to get updated tools. Mine are 1st version tools, and I found a snag myself when using them. I gotta try again. My goal will a hair mod. I wonder though, when I make a hair mod...using a mesh smooth is bad, right? I mean, does the game apply mesh smoothing on it's own? And why does everyone use a plane to make hair "strands"? Why not the line tool? I gotta study. Getting ahead of myself here.

I must agree with you in terms of hair that are in "DAI" just shit. if you can do that, then I pull my hat. but then I need a detailed instructions for the installation. (if possible in German)
AwfulArchdemon Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I'll sure as hell give it a shot. I'm getting all these game design things down one by one. Meshing is new to me, but it's also a class I'm currently in.
