How do you feel about working for a clan of bandits on an island in return for your safety?

 

That doesn't look safe at all...not that I am complaining! :D

Safe in the sense that you are away from the dragons and armies of Skyrim and once you earn your freedom you will never again be attacked by bandits in the wild.

I will join in: I am intrigued and hope the mod will be as good as you want it to be. The Slave-Town already looked promising, and as sad as it is to abandon it, those screens look nice. A bit more compact.

 

Can't wait for a new thread for this new mod, and mybe some more infos on what to expect. As finalcloud wrote above: A really interesting slave-story-mod would be cool - though also difficult to pull off - its easier to make slaver-mods I guess, with the player being an active-role that does stuff, not a passive role that has to endure stuff. I wonder how you'll approach it. The first things that come to my mind: Lot's of dialogue and interaction (not only fucking) with slavers and fellow slaves, and an appropiate enviroment (dark depressing dungeons, humiliating things etc)

02 - You are sent to a neighbouring island that the bandits plan to overtake. You must find a way for them to sneak in.

03 - As the bandits prepare to attack, a scheming bandit who wants to usurp power gives you a drugged bottle of wine for the clan leader, so he may die in battle. Leader survives, finds out it was you who poisoned him and takes away your privileges, reducing you to a slave.

 

 

So far I also have a few mini repeatable quests such as pimping yourself out at the bandit's tavern etc.

Interesting ... I am looking forward to the finished/advanced mod, but I can't stop myself to raise some questions, though of course you don't have to answer them :lol:  as I am sure you have your reasons :) however ...

 

 

 

00 - will it be properly explained why bandits hire servants and all that? From the picture the place looks pretty gruesome (crucification? cages?)

01 - As above. It seems rather important for your story it is this way, so I won't question it without proper information on the story. Or do you mean by "servant" part of the gang like other bandits/outlaws, because it sounds a bit like servant=housecleaner :lol:

002 - I like it. I suppose ... things might happen there if (?) one is caught?

003 - First I was like "shouldn't the scheming one be the evil guy treating you as a slave afterwards?" .. but actually it makes it more interesting the way you seem to approach it. Again not sure how you gonna proceed here, but things come to my mind that might make a very nice slave-story ...

Like the leader being cruel, but also with a likeable charm to him. A bad guy that can do the worst, but also has a weird sense of honour. And as, in his rage, he punishes you and degrades you, there could be one part of the quest having your char in a way fall in love with her master? I think that might really be something for a lot of people...maybe the plot with the wine does somehow lead to the death of the leader's favorite concubine/lover/slave, which makes him all the more mad at the player-char? And over time he grows more fond of you, while at the same time you have to solve teh scheem and you have to endure not only hte master's hatred, but also the scheeming bandits new plots ...

 

Sorry! :lol:  Guess I got carried away here. Do it as you like, I cannot wait to play it. Because really, Skyrim-adult-mods need more story-based stuff! And yours sounds pretty cool!

I suppose I didn't really explain them that well. That post was written on my phone at night :D

I'm not going to write much more about it just now though, I don't want to give away much. Hopefully there'll be a working release that I can show soon.

 

Clarification on Quest 003 (Spoiler)

 

Clan leader's name is Tercius, for future reference. He's a bit more refined that the average brute - hence the organization, the island fortress etc. In the start he treats you nice, you're basically a low ranked bandit almost - he gets you to do stuff and quest 002 is a sort of recon/undercover mission.

I'm rambling, damn. So after he finds out that you tried to kill him, he's really pissed off (understandably). Mostly because he had treated you so well and feels betrayed. As punishment he locks you up and throws you down into the dungeons for people who he wishes to rot (Q004(In development)).

 

Dunno if that clears up the logic or anything for you, hopefully it does. You've got some interesting ideas about the romance, I'll think about them as well for later on.

I already liked your Slave Town mod, it had lots of potential.

Your new screenshots are an awesome teaser, the island just looks great, and i disliked a bit that the slave town was completely underground. Take your time, don't hurry, i'm looking forward to the first playable version :)

Could you perhaps make it so even after the quest is over, you still have to please the bandits so they don't attack you?

Hey, im probably missing something really obvious but, ive finished the quest and when i talk to the guy he says something about waiting for next update and now i have no idea were to go. how do i leave the prison and get my items back ?

Load a save from before you installed this mod (without this mod installed any more).  If you don't have that then you are screwed because this mod is unfinished and unsupported.

I thought about trying to candy coat it but decided the rough truth would be the best. It was an interesting idea that I would have loved to see fleshed out into a finished mod but alas the author has thrown in the towel and no one else has tried to pick it up and take it further.

To pick up the pieces of this mod, and attempt to continue it.

 

Due credit will be given to those who have come before me. My skills are nil, but the fire is hot and the anvil ready... Lets see if I don't smash my thumb.

Unless someone comes screaming at me within the next week to go back into my box and leave it alone!

Great news, I hadn't discovered this mod until you just revived the thread but from the description it sounds like it has a lot of potential.

It was the stated intention of IAmTheOneWhoKnocks that Darkwind Island is to replace/supplant Slave Town. Anyone looking for an abandoned mod to continue should work on Darkwind Island since it is stable, well-written, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who played it (unlike Slave Town which is a train wreck, by the author's own admission).

 

Darkwind Island is also almost bug free. Anyone picking up on it therefore has the luxury of being able to expand on current content and advance the story however he wishes right from the start. Just study the Darkwind thread to see where he left off on it and the issues he was trying to deal with.

I would say make a choice and focus on one.

 

I don't think that there was anything that would be broken beyond repair in Slave Town. Not sure - i never checked - but i see no reason why it wouldn't be salvageable.

 

So the question is which idea fits you more? as those mods are a little different.

Always hoped that Darkwind Island wouldn't turn into yet another player sub slavery. Imo following that idea of player acting as an "agent" doing quests for bandits - and eventually becoming a bandit yourself -  would be a lot better.

The same as it was in that "infiltration" quest - nobody expects that frail and helpless girl could be dangerous. That's why you could be plenty useful to those bandits - as a recruiter, spy, thief, saboteur, assassin etc.

 

Just my 5 cents of how i would do it.

Slavetown was a cool concept, and I did like the various tasks, such as the investigation. Darkwind has you becoming a bandit, which isn't everybody's cup of tea.

For what it's worth, I think aqqh is right and there's nothing inherently unsalvageable about SlaveTown and IMHO it was the cooler concept. You do not need to feel bound by the stated intentions of someone who is no longer around, he had his vision for what these mods should have become, you presumably have your own.

 

Anyway, good luck with whichever of these mods you do decide to continue.

Agreed. Enjoyed Darkwind, but thought SlaveTown more intriguing as a concept.

I did my first edit to be more female centric. However you do bring up a good point. And I feel there is indeed a large sum of saturation in that playspace already. I'm taking your note here about being more... gender ambigious to heart as I chug along through the files.

Hi, I tried your awesome mod, and I can't go further the arena part. I mean, it's supposed to appear 10 opponents to beat, but only 8 opponents show up and after killing them all, nothing happens. sleeping doesn't help. and I can't start mine quest at all. I talk to the master and go to Mohd, then there's no quest dialogue from Mohd...

Read the first post again especially the first two parts in the red and yellow text, essentially they say this mod is broken and no longer supported. It is open for adoption if you feel up to taking on the challenge of fixing it and finishing it with whatever you deem to be a proper ending.
