Ways to mix in Valerica? All right, heres a potential one.

This operates on the idea that the 'Serana' arc will be linked into the 'cure Serana's vampirism' arc (And draws from my hypothetical version of the quest.).

After realizing that Seranas original vampirism cannot be cured by Falion, it is suggested that the Dragonborn seek out a mage both knowledgeable on both vampirism and Molag Bal. Valerica is, of course, the correct answer (maybe have a few other mages give some baffled answers as a joke or two.), so the Dragonborn and Serana travel to her to get her advice on the matter (This can be either her alcove in the Soul Cairn or her lab in the Castle.). After the revelation that curing Serana would require functionally reenacting the ritual that gave her vampirism in the first place, Serana leaves the party, the Dragonborn and Valerica discusses the details of what is required for said ritual, one of the items (A Colossal Black Soul Gem, like the one in Oblivion.) is already in Valerica's possession, but she must be convinced to part with it, as she believes curing vampirism to be a waste. One can either bring someone for Valerica to feed on (This will kill who ever you bring.), or allow her to feed on the Dragonborn, during which she gets distracted by the Dragonborn's raw sex appeal and the porking does ensue.

That sounds like a pretty good idea for involving Valerica, though I'll admit I'm not sure if Serana's path should be dependent entirely on which side you choose or whether she's a vampire or cured/going to be cured, unless Foxfingers wants to try and somehow create a unique pathway for each option

I kinda had the idea that the vanilla "you should go get cured because vampirism is ew" thing would be changed to " Do you know if you can be cured?" and then opened to both sides of the conflict, so visit to Falion would be less getting rid of vampirism and more just seeing if its possible. Also that the hypothetical questline would include the option of Serana remaining a vampire.

I am not sure my comments will help at all, maybe skew the thread in another direction....

 

I never cared much for the vampire playstyle, and the castle with torn open bodies all over never did anything for me.  Skyrim-wise I liked the werewolf play a lot more (just wish a mod had a sneak system to go with the unlimited time part). 

 

In Dawnguard I always got an Underworld (movie) vibe going, the werewolf and the vampire joining forces with select humans to save the world. 

 

Then we'd go out hunting in the night. I'd eat the hearts and she'd drink everything else.  Make full use of the bandits and marauders we're killing in the name of the law anyway.

 

Lore-wise...

 

I wonder just how canon everything she says is supposed to be. Could be a little bit of sloppy writing, or could be a little bit of too sheltered little girl and not knowing history as well as she thinks.  Possibly some of our AA content could be dialog about some location or event, either when we visit it as part of the quest chain or as comments come up when talking with her about her past and places she has seen or heard about. Reasons or excuses to flatter her, build up her confidence or show our interest in her as a person, not just a pawn in the games her parents play.

I tried to make him like me, I am thin and tall, so the High Elf race sounded like the best option. and ... he was... well, not that gaunt when he was alive.

Don't forget to use either NPC's of Dibella or SOG's npc overhaul as a base for NPC changes. They change almost every NPC to look much better.

 

I host NPC's of Dibella here on LoversLab and that modifies almost every female in game.

Despite your somewhat rude response I will respond politely. My point was Fox likely has no clue how long it will take until s/he gets into just how much there is to do. S/he needs to finish dawnguard first and then go back and work on the mod. I doubt at this time s/he has a clue how long it will take.

If I had been writing Dawnguard for Bethesda I would have pointed out that neither of these chicks had had a neck to chomp in a few centuries and here comes the beautiful, young Dovakiin walking up to them.  What do they see?  Buffet, I'm thinking. 

 

But, we'll see how it goes.

 

 

I sense you're starting with the right foot here!

And the whole discussion about Serana, the Lore, her backstory, family ties has been very interesting and fun.

The Bethesda questline are sometimes a bit convoluted. Sometimes they don't make so much sense. In their defense, I'll say it's an unavoidable side effect of the open world gameplay. You cannot change the world so much. It's like when you go around killing people in Skyrim. Yes you've got a bounty, got some jail time, citizens will taunt you when you pass by... and that's all. You kill an Npc and the next day the wife will give you a quest to fetch some herbs... They can allow too many quests to be broken because you choose one path or the other. And so, play as a vampire or vampire hunter,  the dawnguard ending is more or less the same. And to get to that same ending... kill Harkon, the logic might get somewhat convoluted.

 

Personally, Serana seems to me too much a sane person. She's very rational and self aware even when explaining her Molag Bal adventure. Sometimes it seems she's done some psychotherapy!

 

Regarding Molag Bal...  that description of sexual intercourse was very daring for the vanilla game's standard. Possible one of the most explicit and provocative moment of the whole TES series. So why don't push the line a further bit and actually have a molag bal moment in the new enhanced questline?

I've actually been using Everbody's Different primarily so that even NPCs from Interesting NPCs and the like get advantage of my 800 or so hairs available to females. It's a bit problematic to combine EBD with a mod that changes just some appearances however, the sure way to do it is to open EBD patch in TES5Edit then delete the changes that EBD did to Bijin mods and Serana, which means sifting through a LOT of records, every NPC in the game, even bandits and warlocks who never had a name.

I use some other random npc overhauls but it's missing quite few npcs.

For Npc overhaul try babes of skyrim. It changes all npc guys and girls to pretty good standard, it changes vampires, orcs and elfs also and has options for all doc and big mods ( like Helgen reborn, falskaar, death mountain etc ). It's already combines sg skin , no more blocky faces etc in it . Tried it with top model , unpb and seven base bodies and works great. No dark heads, no neck seams and Npcs look great.

@bury02128 i've checked on nexus some screenies of Babes of Skyrim but tbh i don't like when mod changes TOO much how an npc looks. For example the vanilla npc is blonde and suddenly her hair is black as f#$@
