Amorous Adventures [v3.4] (2018/06/02)

I just checked back in for the first time in a long time, upgrading from 2.11 to 3.2 and I have a couple of quick questions. Apologies if they've been answered already, but I scrolled back through the last 5 or so pages and couldn't see anything right away:

#1 question before any other technical questions - did you uninstall 2.11, load your save without AA installed and make a new save, clean your save with a save cleaner, then install 3.2 when you updated?  The 3.x versions require a clean save or new game if you are updating from 2.x.

Snip...

At this point, it's been so long my best recommendation might be to run v 3.2 in a new game.

If you are trying to update an existing game...

- Switch from 2.11 to 3.0.x in your Mod Manager of choice.

- Start Skyrim.

- Save the game.

- Shut down Skyrim.

- Use the Save Game Script Cleaner on the save you made. Download from Nexus.

- Start game

- Load game

- Play

You have to be Level 9+ and have completed Greatsword for a Great Man (Adrianne's vanilla quest) to start "New, New Malacath Blues".

Everything in this Mod is voiced.  Everything.  I'm guessing the attempted update to v 3.2 did not go well.

Select your favorite SexLab animations using the SexLab MCM - you will always get one of those.  Yes, the options for different things were removed.

Thanks!

I gotta tell you, all mad props to Bijin for his beautifier mods.  But Bijin Borgaka looks like the freakin' Predator without a space helmet on.  Wow.  It was a tough slog wooing her with that "Beautifier".  Just me, personally.

You think? His orcs always seemed a little TOO glammed up, in my opinion.

Well, I have to watch the scenes repeatedly.  I was left wanting more glam.  And less tusk.  Just me though.

I really like both of his orc girls actually. I mean they are orcs, and vanilla orc women look like... well this, if you forgot.

424px-SR-race-F-Orc.jpg

Or how about this beauty, know who that is?

ugor_portrait_pic_by_swept_wing_racer-d5

Well, it's this girl.

40038-19-1455358250.jpg

Doesn't look so bad in comparison does she?

That's actually exactly my point. The juxtaposition between those two glammed-up orcs versus basically every single other female orc in the game, who are...well, charitably speaking, kinda unattractive. It just seems jarring to me, like they're actually half-orcs or something. They're attractive women with tusks, they don't really fit the visual aesthetic of the lore.

I love the Bijin overhauls otherwise. Everything he does looks great, but the orcs just seem a little too much.

Just my feeling on it, anyway. I can imagine, having to repeat sequences ad nauseam during development, that you'd have an entirely different perspective :P

I did uninstall 2.11 and all that before I installed 3.2, but I didn't know about the save cleaner thing. That seems like the culprit. I still have saves from before the attempted changeover, so I can try to fix things from there and see what happens. I'm betting the quest issue is part of this issue too because my character is like level 60-something and has finished Adrianne's basic quest as well.

And thanks for confirming about the animation. I know I can pare down the list in the sexlab menu, but it was nice having the combination of control and randomness by being able to choose which path things took and then getting a degree of spontaneity in terms of which animation set is actually used.

Thanks for the help, both of you. I'll see if I can remedy my overly hasty installation screwup.

I followed the instructions above and used the save cleaner. On the one hand it does appear to have purged the 2.11 data, as I'd now have to restart all the AmAdv quests from scratch. But it didn't fix the dialogue audio issue or the inability to start the new quest. Any Amorous Adventures quest dialogue still has no audio or lip flaps, and it even quickly pushes from one instance to the next as if it doesn't have those audio file timings to help space out the progression of the dialogue choices (having saved in Whiterun I tested with both Jenassa and Lydia. And when I try to talk to Adrianne, again the only new dialogue option available is "you are as lovely as your steel is sharp" to which she responds "don't talk such rot." And as far as I can tell, I should still have her initial sword quest finished (it was one of the first things I ever did)

Looks like I'm going to have to finish up my current character using 2.11 instead or start fresh again using 3.2. On the one hand, I've already pretty much broken the game with my current character based on my skills, wealth, and crafting abilities. But on the other hand, I don't look forward to the probably 100+ hours repeated over again to get back to the point I was at in terms of finished quests and storylines.

I suppose the other test for me would be to make a new character and play the prologue long enough to see if I can get the ralof/gurder event to trigger and play out correctly. If that doesn't work then clearly there's more going on with my issues than initially thought.

Thanks again for helping though.

Well, that is unfortunate.  You should not have to start any Amorous quests over, no.  If you followed the process they should still be there.

The voice issue suggests to me that you do not have the voice files.  You may have a bad download / incomplete download.  I am guessing that's the case - but could be something else.

For the Orc quest, if you have all the pre-reqs and the quest won't start - then likely a required NPC is dead in your game.  One of the many required Orcs.

I hope that helps.  Sorry you ran into issues.  It may be best just to stick with 2.11.

First I would like to reiterate a job well done.  I just have one question to Fox.  Do you know if this works with SexLab Light SE for Skyrim SE?  The original Skyrim does not work for me on Windows 10.

Only some of them, that's the "Lover's personalized" dialogue in the patch notes starting with 3.0.

I have no idea.

I don't know what "SexLab Light" is.  I do not play the SE version at all.  And... I'm on Windows 7.

Yes, only some of them.

Jenassa and Ariana (black star quest) will also jump you.

To trigger their custom Lovers Options you click the dialogue option  "Do you ever feel amorous" once. Then they go into personalized mode and have more things they rotate through saying. And... they'll jump your bones, yep.

Perhaps the file was wonky. I got it from the mirrored Mega link reached through the 1st post in this thread. I at first tried to install a version linked from here to Nexus, but in spite of picking the file to download that said it was the SexLab version, when I was in NMM the sidebar with mod info identified it as the Clean version instead, so I uninstalled that and went for the Mega link directly from here. I know all the voices worked fine in the 2.11 install I had, as well as all the previous versions I'd used.

I also tried a fresh save file by starting a new game. It still didn't have voices or mouth flaps for any of the lover quests (I tried with Ralof and Gerdur and with Carlotta once I got to Whiterun).

Seems like the best option is to go back to 2.11 for now until I finish playing my current character. Once I've done that I can really look at trying to chase down whatever my problem happens to be and not worry about the extra couple quests I'm missing. It's not a huge deal I guess. Of the potential lovers I miss out on for those two quests, the only ones that are disappointing are Lynly Star-Sung and Ria. Temba isn't a big deal for me, and since I use a mostly vanilla character design setup, most of the orcs are too gonkish for my tastes to begin with (the only exception is Lash gra-Dushnikh, the miner from Karthwasten who has a small quest related to her. And maybe to a lesser extent Urog, the chieftan's daughter in Narzulbur)

Now if you added some sweet elf content in the form of Niranye or Aduri Sarethi, I might have to consider moving up the timetable ;)

Thanks again.

Ah, well maybe the winner of the Screenshot contest will pick an elf.  Who knows.

So far I have all of four entries in my silly contest, I think. We shall see.

Played the Orc quest once without issues. It was fun and worked swimmingly. With the second character, I cannot do it because I am getting that old Cursed Tribe glitch where you approach the stronghold, there is no giant fighting the Orcs and the gate is locked. If you jump over the wall you will find all of the Orcs including the one who confronts you and the alchemist who gives you the Cursed Tribe quest huddled inside the longhouse with no dialogue options relative to the quest.  No console commands can get the quest started. If you move any of them outside via the console, they turn hostile. I have googled the issue and this glitch goes way back. The dialogue you get inside the longhouse talks about the new guy being the chief but old Larak is still there.

Apart from the glitch described above (which worked itself out), the only issue I had with this quest is that one of the aunts (Yatul) stays in the longhouse. No matter what time of day I entered the longhouse I was treated as a trespasser. I had to use the console to move her out of the longhouse so I could talk with her. This is the only Orc longhouse where I am treated as a trespasser if I enter it during the day. This may be a game glitch, but it would be useful to move that old hag out of the longhouse.

The thing with Yatul is a glitch in your game, I imagine.  Her whole existence is pacing the wall of the Stronghold and the watchtower during the day.  She's never inside, I don't think.  Maybe she takes a lunch break.

Nothing I can do about that.  I don't do anything with their default A.I.

Just finished the new quest myself, have to say great job.  It must have been quite the challenge to repurpose the Orc dialogue lines, since there are so few of them to work with (and they tend to be the same morose deadpan tone 90% of the time).  Either way I really enjoyed it, and it was nice to have a bit of the orc lore built into an AA quest.

Also re: Yatul hiding in the longhouse, I had that happened to me as well as well but I simply waited for 1 hour and she headed out to guard duty.  I believe the Immersive Citizens AI mod is likely the reason she ends up there on my end, since one of the leading purposes of that mod is to make no-life NPCs at least go home to sleep.

PS - the quest made me realize for the first time in awhile just how ridiculous most Orc names are, with the npcs having to actually use the names in conversation.

Just a note, I'm using Win10 just fine with Skyrim, reinstalled it a month or so ago on Win 10, no issues. 7 is the superior one for Skyrim of course (on Win 8 or 10 you are for now limited to 4 GB videoram, but a guy from Microsoft who started playing Skyrim recently and modding it was going to fix it, not sure if that's past beta yet), but Win 10 is a pretty good platform for pretty much all games, at least compared to most windows versions like 8.

That just means you aren't using proper general NPC replacers and skins. I am using Leyenda Skins and Foxy Skyrim (no relation to our Fox, and unfortunately not a file available any longer, and I've customized mine for my setup), and FoxFingers is using NPCs of Dibella from Nexus. Try those out with a decent skin like Leyenda or Demoniac and then see, yeah the Bijin is still going to look much better but hopefully not as much out of place.

Just a quick note, the version on the Nexus marked as Sexlab is the Sexlab one, Mod Managers are just stupid and will call it in the download the name of the main file, which is the clean one. Just look at the file requirements on it, if it requires Sexlab then that's the one.

This is most likely Immersive Citizens. But if you don't have that installed, do make sure you have the unofficial patch installed, as it fixes a lot of small quirks like that.

I do not have immersive citizens and do have the unofficial patch, but I will accept that it is a glitch in my game, and not a big deal. I just mentioned it in case this mod was a factor.

Not sure you can get away from the tusks, but for some alternatives other than Bijin's;

I personally use this version for Borgakh from Skyrim Beautiful Followers mod - (for which I also use Aela, Njada, Uthgerd and Adelaisa over Bijin):

37861-1-1378225416.jpg

...and this for Ugor - IMO the best looking Orc/Orc overhaul out there - (for which I guess you can use the visual transfer tool on to make into Borgakh) from Pure Girls mod (from which I also use Jenassa and Rayya):

If you *must* get rid of the tusks, perhaps visual transfer something from the Orions race (hard-core Trekkie here) like http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/83956/?

Well I haven't done this mod before what file do I download? there are a lot of them..smile.png

Step One: Probably download it at the Nexus Page.  It has the latest versions.  https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/70495/?

Step Two: Decide if you want the OSex Version, the SexLab Version or the Clean Version.

Step Three: If you chose OSex or SexLab, install whichever of those frameworks and get them working.

Step Four: Download the version of Amorous Adventures for it

Step Five: ???

Step Six: Profit!

Thanks!  Good luck.
