dear krayone what is the dripping mod?

dear , gooser may you read my last post and consider my ideas for an update?

Apropos isn't working anymore in my game even though it looks fine in MCM. From time to time I just see one word,"your," it fades away and that's all. I've tried uninstalling and then re-installing it both through MCM as well as through MO and making a clean save before reinstalling.

 Any ideas?
  Thanks

my apologies :( :( :( :(, I must have not understood the other answers.

I don't think the "your" message is from Apropos. I think it might be from Milk Mod Economy

As for your Apropos disapprearing all I can sugest is to make sure you're using 1st person and try to reset synonyms.

Not really. It's not done that for me and I currently have a character that I started new with Apropos that is currently at level 80 including several followers, and it works great.

You might just need to reset/rebuilt SexLab (after exporting settings, etc).

Can you attach a Papyrus0.log and Apropos0.log files?

I apologize if this has already been asked, but I just started a new game with apropos (haven't used it in a while)... and my MCM just says "derp" and nothing else.

Did I install it wrong?

I have Jcontainers installed (3.1.1)... for example, Slavetats works just fine.

EDIT: I have all the requirements, and I've used apropos before without issue... the last time I used it was with the October 3 version.

When I upgraded to the october 21 version yesterday, I just did an in-place upgrade. I'll go strip the data directory of everything and try reinstalling it, maybe that'll fix it.

It's possible there is an ordering issue... Did you install JC before Apropos, or Apropos first, then JC?

JC first, then Apropos.

I just deleted all apropos scripts and content (including the database) and reinstalled... and I'm still having the same problem.

EDIT: The mod is working properly... I mean, I'm getting the debug notifications just fine... it's just the MCM that seems to be missing for some strange reason.

EDIT 2: Attached logs... wish I knew how to read them myself, but I'm completely inexperienced.

The apropos log seems to be fine, and the papyrus log, aside from a bunch of radiant prostitution warnings, also seems to be okay.

Hello, i have been having trouble with this mod and i have been trying to fix it but the problem is not listed in the support, So i am looking for someone who can help me with this problem. I use the English setting in the game and every time i do an act the only word that comes up is just the word "None." It only says "None" at the start, middle, and end of the acts and I am hopping that someone could give me some advise on to how I can fix this problem and enjoy this mod. Thank you.

That's an old problem. It could be caused by a few different issues. Usually it is an installation issue with pre-requisites.

Can you see the MCM panels for Apropos?

Please attach both Papyrus0.log and Apropos0.log

Dear author, I have a slight question / something like a request: in general, would it be possible to use the idea behind your mod for non-sexual content, meaning the every-day gaming experience? I always missed messages like "the air is thick of foul smell" while crawling through Troll shit; or "the cobwebs everywhere send shivers down your spine" and things like that.

My intention is that this game could need some immersive texts to describe what one may not..

Interesting, but probably way off. The reason is that Apropos is triggered via SL events. I don't even know where to begin regarding normal Skyrim play? I suppose it could start with Cell change?

That's indeed intriguing. But where could be done? Sexlab offer a set of intrinsically repetitive actions categorized consensual/non-consensual, oral/anal/ecc... and the name/gender/species of the partner/s.

The only similar environment in SKyrim where Apropos could properly act, as I think of it,  is... combat.

You can add text which describe your power attack or you being bashed... or a clever shot... It could be diverse enough (the type of the wepon, the damage given/receiver, your rage or your panic since you health is reaching zero) to express the Apropos potentiality to the full.

An evident drawback is that when in combat will you have the time to read the messages?

Maybe with shorter, one line, texts?

Haven't done a lot of work recently because I've been switching my install back to CBBE to accommodate 3J's animations, which don't really line up well with UNP body types.

With Gooser's permission, I'll be switching all the start of act message files to Stage 1 message files, so there will now be no missing messages when using SexLab's foreplay option.

I've also found something interesting; the foreplay animations used in this option do not have an orgasm message, instead having an extra stage. For example, I tested this using DI Blowjob as the only checked foreplay animation. Normally it's 3 stages then Orgasm, but when played as a foreplay animation, it has 4 stages and no orgasm, with the Orgasm stage renamed as Stage4. It also doesn't play the orgasm effect, nor does SexLab Cumshot play the effect.

What this means is that I can add an extra file to specially designated 'foreplay' animations, as a lead-in to the sex act.

I've also decided that right now, I'm not going to bother writing rape files for every animation, simply because I personally don't plan on turning every animation on. If they're all on, then rape will seem mainly submissive and consenting, which isn't what I want. I want the bulk of rape animations to be aggressive and rough. To this end, I'm not gonna bother writing rape files for the others as it simply slows down the production of content people will actually use. So I'll be posting my dbs in the future with some additional files, simple lists indicating which animations support unique rape messages and unique foreplay messages.

In a similar vein, the Zaz Pillory animations won't have consensual files, simply because I don't want them in the normal rotation of animations (a pillory springing out of nowhere breaks immersion unless it was somehow triggered in mage-only rape), and the only trigger I know of for these animations is Prison Overhaul which treats them as rape animations.

The Zaz Bound animations are similar, but could make sense in a kinky consensual setting, so I might do consensual content for them later. The armbinder files won't be done anytime soon because frankly I don't use armbinders. Not that they're not hot and all, but there's bugger all content that puts them on the PC in any narrative driven manner, and the novelty of struggling to get it off kind'a bored me before I even got the first one off.

I'm also gonna ignore the animations in the Non SexLab Animation pack that involve furniture for now, since floating people breaks narrative.

I'll write the Foreplay animations as well, so they're ready when Gooser turns that animation type on.

I'd love to write the Group stuff, but that's gonna get complicated due to variables in MFF/MMF. I'll need to check whether they'll trigger with the 'wrong' combinations. For example, will Zyn DP, a MMF animation, ever trigger with a MFF combination? I personally hope not, it would simplify things.

And yeah, I forgot how good CBBE looks. Also, for those using 3J's animation, I would also recommend switching your males to SOS, otherwise some of the cocks won't line up (eg, 3J Holding).

Posted

Interesting about CBBE and 3J's anims. I use UNP Petite and yes I do have some alignment issues. 3J furniture is the wackiest. 3J standing seems to be OK. I love the 3J anims, but also love UNP petite and cannot see myself changing to CBBE even for 3J.

Any updates as to when we can expect the FF messages to be turned on (so to speak)?

Gooser, I have a request and question.

Is it possible for the Wear and Tear tattoos to use the color red instead of black.  It looks a lot better.  I've switched it out myself using the slavetats mcm menu but appropos will change it back to black as the wear and tear degrades or my PC is attacked.

Now the question.  It takes a long time for the tats to appear, I've tried different settings in the MCM but haven't noticed a big difference after assaults.  I don't have the MCM menu memorized to reference but would like to know the quickest setting for the tattoos to be applied.  I know there is one that has a range of 600 to 10000 and thought that would effect the application.

Thanks!

I just can't get Apropos and Radiant Prostitution to both work at the same time. I have all the requirements and the latest versions, but they seem to be incompatible.

Following the advice from earlier in this thread, I had my load order set as:

Radiant Prostitution Tweaked 1.08b - recompiled sources

Apropos_Beta_10_21_01

But neither of them worked. The message I got for Apropos was "Apropos requires version 3 of JContainers, with a a minimum feature verson of o" (and that was "verson," not "version").

I tried it with Radiant Prostitution Tweaked 1.08b and the recompiled sources thing both installed, and the same thing happened.

Before that I had JContainers installed, then added RP, RP-recompiled, Apropos, apropos recompiled sources. That loadout would support either RP or apropos, depending on wether or not I let RP overwrite the JContainer material.

Last time I had an issue with my game like this, it was something small and stupid that I did wrong causing it.

Help, please.

I love both of these mods and I would hate to have to choose between them.

I've also been having trouble since a re-install.  Similar to the above poster, Apropos shows fine in MCM, though it does say that my character isn't registered for wear and tear even though all the options are enabled.  Have tried:  Uninstalling/re-installing, resetting animations, resetting apropos options... any thoughts or things I should post in order to help?  Thanks!

Edit:  Have reset sexlab... have all the requirements (As I said it worked fine in my previous install).

Get JContainers as a seperate download and load it last in your mod list:-

I have JContainers as a separate download, but if I try to install it NMM asks me if I want to overwrite certain JContainers files from the Radiant Prostitution mod.

If I do overwrite the files then Apropos works perfectly but RP fails to register quests and simply breaks.

If I don't overwrite the files then RP works perfectly but Apropos becomes glitchy. It doesn't give me the "derp" response in the MCM menu, and it seems to still track some data, but it doesn't give me any messages about arousal, sex acts, etc. Opening the console commands menus shows the same "Apropos requires version 3..." message from earlier.

I've attached some pics to show what's going on.

Image 1: The message I get when trying to activate JContainers

Images 2-3: RP not working if I do overwrite files.

Images 4-6: Apropos messages if I don't overwrite files.

And now even Sexlab seems to be acting up. Trying to use the rebuild and clean feature will reinstall sexlab, but after seven minutes it still hadn't finished.

Maybe I should just do a clean reinstall of the whole game?

I am most grateful for the advice and thank you for the help, but it's still not working.

And sorry for being such a bother.

Have you tried a new game, or are you trying to get a game save to work?

Posted

Both. At first I was just trying to get it to work on an existing save (though that play through did have both from the start), but I just tested it out on two new saves, one without overwriting and one overwriting.

I'm getting the same problem: not overwriting let's apropos work but not RP, overwriting does the opposite (apropos now giving the "derp" result).

In the exisiting save, I was briefly able to get them both working (this was a few weeks ago) by first not overwriting and getting the RP quests running and then reinstalling JContainers. Since the quests were already loaded I was able to use both, but only for awhile. I think doing that might have caused some sort of glitch in Sexlab, because trying to rebuild/clean the system eventually bugged out. However, trying to rebuild/clean in a completely new save worked flawlessly.

Pics 1-2: not overwriting

Pics 3-4: overwriting

I guess the existing save is a lost cause, but I'd be willing to start over if I could get these both to work right.

Also, I just realized I only ever seem to post when something goes wrong, and that's not fair to the people making these mods. After all, the norm is for them to work, and work well. So thank you for making Apropos in the first place. It's a delightful idea and well executed. Getting the little messages and status effects while playing, even the negative ones, always adds to immersion; and the play-by-play during sex scenes make it a whole new experience. I found myself going for f/m scenes far more often than f/f scenes simply because of those details.

But now I'm brown nosing.

@VladHeterodyne couldn't you somehow mix old JC and .pex (script) files from the new (3.0 version)? If JC version is 3.X then JContainers.log should contain some text saying about 3.X version

I don't know if that would work or not, but I have no idea how I'd begin to do that in the first place.

It sounds like it would work, though.

Edit:

As far as I can tell, the problem is that RP has its own version of JC and won't recognize the regular version, and for some reason my computer won't let Apropos recognize the JC built into RP.
