I'm having an issue where, even though I've made the adjustments in MCM, my settings are ignored, eg getting chastity belts when set to 0% or getting ballgags when set to only rings.

Have you tried clicking "Update" in the Debug menu?

If someone turns them into properly scripted and tagged devices my mod will automatically add them to the available pool.

 

But I'm not interested in converting them to DD myself, sorreh.

It sounds like you're missing a dependant mod (I assume you're getting a ctd at the Bethesda Logo). You need to have the following installed (and any dependant mods that those mods need as well)

 

Skyrim.esm

Update.esm

Sexlab.esm

SexLabAroused.esm

Devious Devices - Assets.esm

ZaZAnimationPack.esm

Devious Devices - Integration.esm

SexLabDefeat.esp

Version 2.7 is up!

 

After a long looooooong wait the concerted effort of the most devious minds in the galaxy has brought you Devious Devices 2.9.0 (don't mind the typo in my last post)! And Devious Captures has added the new "restrictive" devices to its pool! The kinky rogue mages and bored outlaws of Skyrim have gotten their hands on yokes, corsets, ballet boots, locking gloves and very uncomfortable collars and they happen to be exactly your character's size!

 

Important thing to remember tho: if you're updating the mod on an existing game you will need to review your device equip chances. Some of them became redundant so I repurposed their variables to do other things. I also changed the default values of existing settings. Clicking on each option (to display the slider) and pressing "R" will set it to the new default value.

 

Please remember that by default yokes, armbinders, gloves and boots are disabled! If you want them to spawn you need to increase their equip chances.

Hello! I get a CTD as soon as the main menu loads when I have this mod installed, anyone had a similar problem and knows how to fix? Would be much appreciated, or lead me in the right direction to figure out how? I just started modding my skyrim this week so Im not very good at this stuff ;(

 

I had sexlab submit, figured that might conflict somehow but didnt change when I uninstalled sexlab submit.

You're missing a dependency. Please make sure you have all the required mods and the required mods of those required mods and their required mods too.

Seeing this mod updated makes me want to try Defeat again (I ran Submit before with the Devious Progression thing)! I am going to be slightly stubborn and not update my SKSE yet (seeing as 1.7.2 is still in beta, and no other mod has asked for an upgrade yet). Will let you know if it works :).

It probably will work since I didn't use any functions from that version but I always recommend the version of SKSE that I had installed when compiling my scripts.

I've been using the SKSE beta since release and it's worked perfectly so far. From observation, SKSE beta's seem to be release candidate quality

Hello Princess,

as usually i am coming with a general  "failure" of the mod.  the "failure" of devious captures is, that the devices are placed after the rape and not before the rape. that makes no sense. getting devices just to run away with it. cuffs are placed to keep the victim silent, to enable rape. As it is now, what do you do with the devices after the rape ? They have no function and are just blocking gameplay.

now dont come with SD, which may start after defeat, because that takes all devices off anyway. no word about sd. you are married with defeat and not with sd. and that is good so, that makesy your mod usable. defeat is a very solid full functional mod without any sideeffects. and so is yours.

if you could manage it to get the devices at the pc after defeat took the clothes off, just before the rape starts, than this would make sense. Then the devices would have a function and nice animations in the rape.

it must be possible to do.

It's more complicated than that. Many devices interact with SL animation selection (mostly by blocking certain kinds and using substitutes). Trying to equip a device at the same time it would usually try to override animations would either not work or cause a race condition that would confuse Skyrim and crash it or worse. And since it's Skyrim: "worse" is probablish more likely.

This might also cause issue between Defeat and Deviously Helpless as well. From memory I think they check for each other so they don't run at the same time but that's at the start of the workflow/process for both, changing parameters once the process has started doesn't seem a good idea.

 

In any case I can't see the slightest point in fitting devices before the animation it potentially negates what a mod like Defeat is even about and seems to be a lot of work for nothing. A lot of devices would also be unusable (belts, plugs, harnesses etc).

I tried to apply devices prior to the actual scene in Cursed Loot for immersion (because, yes, it's sort of logical that a rapist would tie up his victim -before- the act rather than after), and it works -sort of-. I had to write a really complicated animation selection routine to avoid SL scenes failing all the time. Wrist-bindings alone significantly reduce the number of available SL animations, and in combination with wearing a belt or bra, there often won't be enough left for SL to pick from. Oh, and there aren't any threesome animations for wrist-bound characters. At all. So all you can ever do when tied up is a one on one.

Just StartSex(). All the funny stuff is in the animation selector, which I sort of completely rewrote to take DD items into accord etc. I will probably rewrite it again to make it perform the way I want it to. :D
