In general yes it matters because the meshes need to support it, if i remember correctly you still need _0 and _1 versions of the helmets to enable that. If you enable and don't have both it will probably not display when you try and equip. if you look at Bethesda original helmets I don't think any have slider support enabled, there may be a few exceptions but i did not see any.

I will have to pass on this one. There are too many pieces to the outfit that are controlled by the xml that require the 'UUNP' body ID, Changing to CBBE 'BodyShape' voids all the controls and I would have to re-engineer the whole outfit to work. Outfits like this make me seriously consider changing to UNP. Just plug and play.
