Devious Devices - Captured Dreams Shop v4.15 - files removed

Spent a few days on a new game with everything updated (I believe) and have a few items to report.

1. On a delivery I was stopped by bandits and through another mod my stuff was stolen including the CD delivery.  I was unable to get it back so I continued on to the delivery.  Went to Thornir in Morthal and completed delviery even though I technically did not have it in my inventory.  Of course I can roleplay through this and once the item is gone I can just go back to Master and say I lost the delivery, still, once it is out of inventory delivery should no longer be possible I would think.

2. Still having problem with the thugs and the Boss not working properly.  Often they will not run up and engage with my character.  Sometimes when they do and I tell them that I am not going to turn over the delivery they state, "your choice." but then nothing, I can just walk by them and continue on my merry way.  Again I can roleplay this and simply start the attack and then it proceeds as it should.  Additionaly, I believe after an attack that you lose and you are able to get out of the armbinder and gag you can still make the delivery.  You do get a message that the package was taken, "well most of it".  I don't know if that was intentional.

3. I had a weird series of events that led to getting the CD bra and both sets of cuffs removed through different punishments.  Sorry, I can't remember the exact sequence but I believe it was the second time I was working with Tavish.  I was fully decked out with his belt and collar and the CD shops bra and cuffs.  After the demonstration all I had left on was the reequipped CD belt and collar and oddly enough Tavish's plug.  On a side note, I was expecting the Tavish plug to be more interesting than it was, didn't seem all that bad or detrimental.  The cuffs and bra were removed without me having to pay back my rather large debt.

4. After my first demo with Tavish, which I roleplayed so my character would not do well and be punished, I had a recurrence of a strange bug I and another reported earlier.  After spending the night and complaining the next morning to the master she gears you up and has Herran walk you outside with a gag.  That all works fine but... the character physics and model behave strangely.  You notice it slowly, first the PC idle posture has a strange pseudo bow-legged stance.  The more you move the more contorted the PC gets with limbs stretching and the neck twisting and getting longer.  Looks like she is made of putty.  If you enter a building the PC is typically caught in a mangled state along a wall though the camera/point of view float as you can awkwardly move through the environment for a time.  Eventually you will CTD and it is game breaking, or it was.  If anyone else is having this problem I found a solution.  Changing into first person view and then enter a building, I ran over to Hert's house at Half-Moon Mill.  The movement oddities don't seem to affect first person views.  After you are in the building switch back to third person and everything should be normalized.

For me a bit of honest roleplaying covers all of these problems but I thought I would share for reference sake.  I have to say Veldarius, this mod has become my core lately with my PC's actions set up with the Captured Dreams shop at the center.  I usually wait till I get the first message from the courrier before I go to the shop, unless the game's events bring me by earlier.  For my character it's an easy way to make some cash, doing a simple delivery, "what could go wrong?" only it usually becomes a slippery slope of debt.  Very cool!  Besides, running errands for the Master seems like a more interesting way to make money than picking cabbage and chopping wood.

As with all things creative I'm sure you get tons of requests for features and I don't want to press but while playing I thought of two ideas I would pass along for you to consider.

1. When falling into debt with the Master have your PC make a request to "offer" one of it's followers as a store display until you pay off the money owed instead of being trussed up in the devices.  It could even be progressive for the follower, as the debt accumulates an additional device could be added.  This would be offered in lieu of wearing a belt and harness as the PC would tell the Master, it interferes with doing the job properly.  This option may only be available to neutral/dominant characters.

2. This may be more challenging to code, maybe not.  If the player becomes more submissive have the replies to Master change over time to only allow submissive answers to become more under her control.  Maybe a quest to get one of those potions that return balance of the sub/dom value.  The potion could be set in some far off Alchemy shop or better yet, one of my favorite locations, the Alchemist shack.  Have a journal there telling the PC how to find the ingredients or an NPC that has the said potion.  I know they are in the locked cabinet at the shop but this seems like more fun.  Even if you are a dominant PC you could have each punishment wear down the dominant value so eventually the PC will become a slave of the master.

I have one other idea that is a bit more out there and most likely complicated.  Too much to summarize here, if you are curious I can send you a PM.

I know you are already working on expansions for the shop and no matter what you decide to do I will eagerly await what happens next.

how many quest i have to do to be able to buy keys? have done 15 now and it reminds me more and more on some odd kind of punishment.

20... still no keys. is that a joke?

Your ability to buy keys mostly depends on your characters dominance and how much the master likes you.

When the master likes you and when you are dominant you should be able to buy keys.

sorry iam a bit pissed of right at the moment. so please dont mind when my answer is: you dont say?

Perhaps instead of getting all pissy and being rude to people trying to help, you could just read the opening post where it clearly states:

Purchasing keys -

This quest has been rewritten as well. Find the notes and follow the trail to who knows who sells what service. If you did it in the original you will have to do it again as it has been completely rewritten.

Spoiler

Find all three notes and talk to Slave Kara. Depending on how much of a Sub / Dom you are and if you have any items will determine who she sends you to

- No items on: go see the Master (you are not a slave)

- Items on and moderate to high Dom: Go see the Assistant

- Items on and low Dom: Go see the Smith

The Master sells keys (so long as she thinks you qualify) while the other two will get you out of the items you have on (except blindfolds, gags or armbinders).

i read it 3 times just in case i missed something. i found the two letters on the tables and the one under a stone of the fireplace.

i cheated befor i visited the shop the first time my dominance to the max.

i respondet to the questions allways with the max dom answers.

the master is telling me that iam dom enough to get keys, she just dont like me... after 21 fucking quests i have done for her... seriosly thats to much. right now iam on removing the essential flags of all npcs in there and after thet i show them how much I like them.

sorry if iam rude i know i shouldn be its just iam really angry at the moment. just one quest more and i eat my keybord.^^

so excuse me there are a few heads to chop of..

Did you fail any quests? If your Rank with her drops 1-2 points where succeeding raises it 1.

nope, did 21 quest one after another without failing.

Check the ledger for what it says bout your relationship and personality.

Master should like you enough after like 4 successful quests. Maybe 5.

I know you are already working on expansions for the shop and no matter what you decide to do I will eagerly await what happens next.

1- I am looking to rebuild the quest, there were a number of things that can be done much easier and there are a number of things to clean up / organize. I plan on adding something to detect if it removed from your inventory and try to add a few other ways to lose it and set it up to possibly recover it in the future.

2- I will look into that and make the necessary changes.

3- I am changing some of the removal scripts, it may be part of the issue. I had the CD belt remain on my character today so I have an idea as to the issue.

4- I have seen that but only with the Slave Harness from the Expansion. I think the issue I had with it was from making changes to it using bodyslide2 but I have not done anything to the item itself.

There will be a number of additional things to do in the coming expansions as more buildings and space is added. I can restrict the responses depending on the submissive level of the player but it gets complicated with the conditions. Feel free to PM me with any suggestions, I am always looking for additional ideas.

I'm just wondering about the balance of the bandits on the delivery quest.

Now to be fair I play an assassin/conjuror pc and I was fitted with the assassin helper plugs which did skew this in my favour, but at level 13 it was quite easy to kill the bandits off once the Boss was pulled from the group. The Brute went down to a couple of arrows and the Mage to a couple of sword strokes, I did have to use a couple of healing potions with the Boss though.

I replayed it trying to take on all three at once and I was annihilated in a few seconds.

I think at present it's a little too easy to aggro a single bandit  particularly the Boss. I'd suggest that at the first conversation where they demand the delivery they should always move as a group to the pc because at the moment the Boss can be easily picked off by running away when you see him and he then follows alone before the demand conversation starts and once he's alone he's not difficult to kill (unless you're a pure mage).

If they confronted the pc as a group then after the conversation depending on the type of character you play, you can then stand and fight, or run and then try to pick them off, or sneak by them.

Just a tweak to consider

Can't wait for the update. Love this mod and eagerly await more.

I tried by console to get the punishment scenes with the smiths, slaves and assistants. The Basement scene ended perfectly every time.

The Debt Ceiling still does not seem to kick in or is this more dependent on your ranking with the Master? Even the extra items take a even higher debt ceiling surpassing the heavy debt limit if your disposition is excellent, the bra and cuffs.

I have not been able to replicate the problems with the Customer Assist bound animation in Radiant Prostitution and Dangerous Nights also works. Hearthfire I did first with a clean save before staring any Sexlab Mods and it also worked.

The Hearthfire before, I would go to the drafting table and it would close immediately, I have no idea why.

Thanks again and keep up the great work.

Seems like a good idea.

In truth i've never lost to the bandits, not even when i was level-3 and wearing hide-armour, an iron sword, had learned no spells yet and had put no perks into fighting or protection traits. Atleast, not without intending to do so (just standing there and letting them pummel me). It's not that they are an easy fight, it's more that Skyrim offers plenty of ways to deal with it regardless.

This playthrough i decided to become an Alchemist, as it's something i've not really spent much time on in the past and i felt it high time that i did, so yeah, i was carrying a small Pharmacy around with me from all my experimenting and potion grinding. Having a small ton of potions with me, the bandits were never a problem, and i could just as easilly take them in a straight fight, as just down an Invis potion and sneak past.

Coopervane, I must be terrible at combat as I generally lose to the Boss and his thugs.  I've taken them out a few times but it's always close.  Even with Lydia as a follower I tend to lose.

When I don't want to deal with them I usually sneak past them, my favorite way to avoid them is at Solitude, using the back entrance near the shipping company.

omg put legendary diffculty on. You'll get one shotted by boss - or basicly whoever else - and problem solved... Unless your wearing dragonscale or something that is.

Again it's not that they are easy, it's not that im "just that good" or anything, no, it's that Skyrim offers you a lot of ways to cheese your way through combat (in this case, it's that i had so many healing/fortify-health/health-regen potions that i could have survived just about anything, and combine that with the poisons and fortify-light-armor postions and all the rest, like i said, i was grinding potions, and i didn't have a home yet, so i was carrying them all around with me). There are absolutely ways that you can break the intended difficulty.

I'm really not sure what if anything could be done to dissuade cheesy tactics like this, eh, that's just how Skyrim works, and in my case, i didn't really intend to go this route, i was just crafting tons of potions to learn Alchemy, and so when the fight came i quickly realized "wow.. the only way i can lose this is if i deliberately choose to hold back and not to drink all of these".

I could also jab a fork in my eye, but i doubt i will.. :P

No thanks, i absolutely could not tollerate Skyrim on Legendary, the way Skyrim scales difficulty is just cheap and immersion breaking to me. It turns all enemies into sword-sponges, turning every single encounter into a drawn out and painfully dull marathon of "click mouse, chug potion".

Skyrim's combat system is subpar and unimaginative at the best of times, it's not made more interesting or fun by making you twat the same bandit over the head 50 times before he finally goes down.

The way i normally deal with difficulty is to play on medium, and then put some self imposed restrictions on myself (like only wearing light-armour, and never going above Elven level of armor, which i've made all my custom armors match, aswell never carrying more than 10 healing potions at a time etc etc), this way the game can still throw a challenge at me, without me having to stab the same Draugr-murderbossdeathking 500 times and wasting my time (do excuse the hyperbole, i seem to have spilled some in the corner).

But this time i broke my own rules, i had no house yet and thus no place to store my warehouse full of potions, so i was carrying a ton of goodies. But that just goes to show that yes, people can do that and break the intended difficulty of this fight, it's very possible as i found out.

True, but i like it. It forces you to find a way to to something not just charge in and faceroll everything.

Tho tbh even legendary can be facerolled with ultimate quality crafts. Once you got weapon like this

everything becomes easy.

omg put legendary diffculty on. You'll get one shotted by boss - or basicly whoever else - and problem solved... Unless your wearing dragonscale or something that is.

In other words, to lose the delivery, you have to want to stand still and let Boss hit you.  You can't do anything smart like step aside or run backwards.  You have to stand there like a deer staring into the headlights of a Mack truck.

a solution could be a paralyse spell for the boss.

get hit ---> get roped ----> get bound.

Yep I wish a few more hostile NPC's had this as well or more frequent use of ice spike as it's just too easy to run away.

I agree very much with Coopervane that just upping to Legendary or Master makes the combat tedious and even around Adept some of the Bosses and Dragons can become a bit tiresome if they become HP sponges.

I tend to play assassin/conjuror type characters so only light armour and one handed swords but it is tricky to get the balance right, on one hand clicking tediously on a HP sponge or on the other killing them off too easily. I don't think much can be dome with the comabt mechanic so other things to surprise the pc would be a better option, like a paralysis spell

I originally had a paralysis effect on the swords they use, 1 hit and it was over. As it is their level is 25% higher than yours so at lower levels they are not too bad but they get better as they go, the only thing holding them back at higher levels is their equipment. I may have to make a number of weapons and put them in a leveled list.

I play on Expert but I have slowed the pace of my leveling down quite a bit, Alchemy, Smithing, Enchanting and Speechcraft give almost no xp towards the character level and the rest are reduced by 30% - 60%. The only advantage I use is I will give myself unlimited crafting supplies as collecting supplies is a waste of time to me (especially with the ridiculous crafting requirements on some armors).

Kinda, yeah.

As i see it, you're only likely to lose the fight under 2 conditions right now.

1) You've deliberately gone out of your way to make combat super hard, like using Legendary mode or "make combat much harder" mods, in which case, the boss could likely take you down in one or two lucky hits.

2) You've deliberately decided to gimp yourself, even though you know you're going to face a boss level fight, you've not packed a good stack of potions and gear beforehand (though you very easilly could).

Probably the main culprit is potions, they are easilly gotten and made, including invisibillity potions which will let you easilly bypass the thugs at any level or on any difficulty, it's a very easy and readilly avalible way to cheese your way past them.

So perhabs the cure is to make a Ballgag part of the courier outfit (this would also prevent the player from speaking to carriage drivers and getting to their destination easy, win/win).

Just toss in a line from the master about her having sent a key to the gag to the recipient of the package in advance as extra collateral, rewrite the bandit dialogue to involve nodding or headshaking from the player rather than words, and have the recepient remove the gag upon delivery, and the player will have no way of drinking potions to get past them (though a few locations will still let you sneak in from a different entrance/exit).

Something to considder perhabs :)

Yep I wish a few more hostile NPC's had this as well or more frequent use of ice spike as it's just too easy to run away.

I agree very much with Coopervane that just upping to Legendary or Master makes the combat tedious and even around Adept some of the Bosses and Dragons can become a bit tiresome if they become HP sponges

ever thougt about a combat ai mod?

i have read about a few that make npcs more challanging by giving them more abilitis like using poitions, racial abilities or healing each other.

never tryed one, in my game the only reason for combat is that my char looks good. :P

So perhabs the cure is to make a Ballgag part of the courier outfit (this would also prevent the player from speaking to carriage drivers and getting to their destination easy, win/win).

This sounds a great idea :D

I don't think you necessarily want a paralysis on the sword hit but rather a distance spell like ice spike to stop the pc running away too easily after the demand for the package is made.
