Am I actually supposed to select the horse thingy in one of the scenes? Everyone just stands there. I have a female character too. I'll try again and see if there's a prompt to actually get on it or not, but I'm confused as to why it wouldn't be working otherwise.

Turns out it just freezes anyway. Activating does nothing.

Are you talking about during the second expansion quest? You don't need to interact during that scene.

You shouldn't get stuck or freeze there, sounds like papyrus is getting locked up. Are you wearing any other items than the items supplied by the mod, something that could lock up animations used by zaz?

Checking your papyrus log might give an indication as to what's wrong.

Here is my papyrus log.

I don't see any errors from the scene in the log.

Make sure you have v 6.0+ of ZAZ Animation. On occasion it has issues with getting the player into position, enable the controls and move away from the horse then disable them again and see if it is able to move to a better position.

How do I enable controls? I've never needed to do so before.

It's one of the options in the CD skyui menu, I think it's in the reset tab

You have to scroll the screen to see it though, it's down at the bottom.

The mod checks to see how long it takes you to deliver by taking the current in-game time and adding x hours, more hours for longer distances. The mod doesn't ignore night hours, so you can get stuck in a situation where you are given the quest at 22:00, arrive at midnight, and have to wait 10 hours to talk to her which is well over the time limit which is like 3-6 hours for whiterun.

Not sure if Vel plans to change it, for now just make sure you don't ask for a delivery quest in the later hours, or abuse quick save like the rest of us.

For night time deliveries you can use puppet master mod.

Influenced npc would never treat you as trespasser so you would be allowed to deliver the package (after you break in to their house ofc...).

I remember you said this already, but I was answering the question relating to CD, and using a 3rd mod to get around some aspect of a mod feels like cheating, especially since it isn't really a bug; Vel wrote it intentionally to work in this manor.

If I did use a mod to get around this, It wouldn't be Puppet Master. Puppet master felt like it had no immersion. If there was a way to integrate gameplay to allow you to talk to her during the night I might consider using it as a mod, but puppet master doesn't feel anymore immersive than opening console and adding the NPC to a faction with typed command, it feels like a debug interface, like I'm using Garry's mod.

to make it immersive client would either wait for you in open house or outside their house (they are expecting this delivery in timely fashion after all)

or there would be option of "im not a trespasser, i got a delivery for you" - this one may be even impossible to make.

if client is handled by quest alias it may even be doable to do so - by adding some packages. But my personal opinion is it would be fine bit of work for a little gain.

but for now - puppetmaster does its work. It may seem not very immersive but well.. waiting 7 hours at their doors and then being punished for late delivery isn't very immersive as well.

if quest timer would calculate expected time of delivery when you pick a quest and act accordingly (for example when you pick package to winterhold at 7 pm it would trigger dialogue with master that package needs to be delivered till 9am the next day instead of 7pm +8 hours). That would be plenty immersive. But also time consuming for little gain.

i am having a problem completing the thalmor embassy, elenwen tells pc that she will return to the master and then infinite loading screen occurs, tried various times, saves, characters and installations, quest getting struck at the point. can any one give a suggestion?

Edit: the last line of the log showing actor not found?

Edit: Solved it, i don't know what fixed it, i uninstalled few mods and reduced the resolution to lowest and have completed the mission.

I am having a problem at the Embassy, when the first sex scene initiates, I get a CTD, I have looked for a reason as to why, but I cannot seem to find out. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Don't worry, I've managed to sort the problem, not sure which solution worked, but I ran LOOT, cussed at my PC, rebuilt the framework and cleaned the Bethesda .esm's with tes5edit.

i've got a problem with elenwen's dinner party

the guard gets my char ready and we walk to the stairs but after the scene Blacks out i just end up halfway to the stairs and stand still as exactly nothing happens

nothing is show as a problem in my papyrus logs though, but here it is anyway

Most likely one of the actors is not in the correct position for whatever reason. Try enabling the controls and moving back a bit then disabling them again and see if that will get them to move to where they are supposed to be. If that does not work you can try setting the stage to the next one, use SQS CDxExpQuest02 to find out the current stage and what the next one is.

I encountered the same problem but much earlier. when the guard at the gate starts to escort me inside I stop moving at the inner gate just before it completely fades to black. When it fades back in I'm still there and stuck. Your suggested attempts did not help.

I saw that stages 45 and 55 were set to 0 while all others up to and including 100 were set to 1.

Maybe this helps to identify the problem (if this is supposed to happen and does not help, it only prooves that I have zero experience at modding^^).

I will check for mods that I think may interfere with the behaviour of the actors later today and will report back in case I find something. Now I need to get some sleep first.

If you are still outside on stage 100 then the stage is not completing. This stage handles the move from the exterior to the interior and does the following:

- Enables and places Elenwen

- Removes the Thalmor faction on the guard who was with you

- Moves the guard to the interior

- Moves the player to the interior

- Starts the greeting scene (once inside)

Stages 45 is used if you arrive after hours and need to return the next day, stage 55 is no longer used.

I recommend starting the scene over at the gate and if it stops again upload a copy of the papyrus log here so I can see where the issue is.

I tried getting a papyrus log. But I never used papyrus before and still had to change the Skyrim.ini so it says:

[Papyrus]

fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0

bEnableLogging=1

bEnableTrace=1

bLoadDebugInformation=1

But there still is no "logs" folder. Am I doing something wrong? I read three different instructions all saying the same about how to get the logs and still I don't get them. I found a post about the exact same problem here on loverslab. But the author already edited it saying he was just an idiot and that's why he didn't get the logs, so that didn't help me either.

So it's probably just me having no clue and being tired.

(I didn't find mods in my list that seem likely to me to alter the behaviour of the participants)

That should have generated a log. If you added that section yourself you may want to double check that it didn't already have a papyrus section.

I found the already existing section and just edited it to be enabled the first time I looked into it.

I'm wondering if the game crashing would start the process. I'll try that later, just to be sure. Now I really try to get some sleep.

Thank you for your help

EDIT: I still didn't find a way to get a log file. I found a strange error though. I still have sex slave v17 running. When I unselect it in the loading list I lose my walk animation (running FNIS solved this) and the quest stops at stage 50 already, with the guard not appearing. When loading sex slave, i get the dead end at stage 100 again.

EDIT2: removing sex slave completely sadly did not change anything.

Update: I finally managed to get into the thalmor embassy, playing a new character.

The differences I noticed and that may be worth mentioning are: on my old character the package for the jarl in the first quest didn't get removed before the second expansion quest. I still have it for whatever reason. Also my old character had a very good relation to the master (she didn't need to wear devices while doing jobs for master). Could that have caused the problem that didn't let me enter the embassy, since it seems to be important that I wear devices in the initiated scene?

I hope this helps to maybe solve this rather rare (my impression reading this thread at least) problem.

Sadly I still can't provide a papyrus log. May this be a problem because i use Mod Organizer? (since it does not actually put the modfiles in the skyrim directory)

I just finished up the Thalmor Embassy quest. Curiously I am now Kill on Sight to all storm cloaks. I loaded up a save before the quest and I am not KOS. I am not sure but it seems you may added me to the Thalmor faction during the quest. So no Storm cloak quest lines. I mean story wise, it fits, Stodgy old Storm cloaks don't agree with Captured Dreams but the Imperials morals being closer, and the Elves going along. Don't know if this was intended.

It sounds like something went wrong.  I think Vel has said that the Thalmor faction is supposed to be removed afterwards.  I went through the quest and have not been attacked by any Stormcloaks since then.

I'm going through my second time through the more complicated quests in the mod, and I'm having trouble getting through them. I got through the first compound expansion quest ok, but the one at the thalmor embassy has taken about an hour, and I still haven't gotten through the first 20% of it yet. I guess my recommendation is to get rid of all these complicated  script heavy quests, or include an option to skip them.  I don't think skyrim is capable of handling  things so complicated yet.

What part of the quest is so slow for you? Are the scenes stalling or lagging, or are you talking about crashes?

I can get through the second expansion quest in about 20 minutes without any real slow down, it shouldn't be taking you over an hour.

If you're experiencing crashes and hangs at the sex scenes, make sure sexlab and zaz animations are both up to date and that the animations are registered ingame.

If you're getting stuck in the cell, you aren't actually stuck you just need to activate the stool/bed.

Did you check if you have the same issues with a brand new character? All of my old characters have some broken scripts for old mods.

It's crashes and lock ups. Everything is up to date, everything is registered. Not stuck at stool/bed, haven't gotten there yet. It's just that the quest is too complicated for my mediocre-ish computer.

There are no complex scripts or anything that runs in the background during this or any other scenes I have made, the most complicated function I have set up is to run the sexlab sex scenes. Yes, it is a long quest (I timed it at 1 hr 20 minutes) but other than the occasional issue with ZAZ furiniture or the C++ errors from SexLab it runs perfectly for me (I have been through it several dozen times). If you are having issues then check your log for errors as there is likely something else causing your problems.

I'm wondering if tiny script changes can be made to the biggie quests.

This won't be very organized or coherent, apologies in advance.

1. Once the quest with Elisif is over, she does not need to escort you to the door, the quest is over. When she *does* escort you to the door, in past versions the PC's controlled body would block the doorway, and Elisif's AI would eventually get past.

Now she has less trouble but always has a random game-remark, "It's a fine day when you're around", or more probably, "If you have any business, talk to the steward".

The PC should have been able to walk out of the room on their own, avoiding awkward moments.

2. erani has trouble finding master at the beginning of the quest sometimes, and hanging around at the end of the quest.

Master should state "Bring Erani to Me" (wherever I'm at) and we will discuss her future there (wherever I will be)"

When the quest finishes, the last thing master should do is command Erani to follow the PC, or command the PC to say "Follow me" to Erani, thereby keeping her from running off.

3a. This is minor and piddly, but Ulfrich is one of the good-guys, I hate getting told I'm going to be strung-up. Does he understand the concept of couriers and messengers?

3b. Ulfrich's pointer (the steward's pointer) never disappears, ever.

The PC goes there, speaks the words, and is told to go get erani, but that quest-stage is never completed and the quest pointer lingers.

999 (insert favorite number here)

Much praise is due for the "activate to continue" parts of one script.

Please, in general, eliminate wait-stages and force "Activate to continue" sections.

As an example, in one screwed-up playthrough of a base game I played long ago,

Irileth gives her little rally speech to her soldiers at whiterun's gate, except no guards are there, and she speaks to empty-air (and the player).

So the game was supposed to make the guards show up there and wait for her, but they didn't, and the game carried on.

If the PC never hangs around waiting for her speech, but goes ahead to the Western Tower, the game carries on.

As I said in another thread, I managed to get this by forgetting to create new patch for Real Shelter, after updating my files. It seems to be common enough reason to mention, when game is quitting like this, while peoples are still getting familiar with new way to handle that mod.

I randomly crash sometimes but it's usually a few seconds after entering the shop. I think it may be just DD trying to equip themselves on the display models all at once. Vel have you thought about creating unscripted copies of the devices for the slaves in the shop? I don't think there's any reason to use real devices on background NPCs and it hogs papyrus with unnecessary load on cell transitions ^^

It is something I have been looking to do, I already replaced the cuffs on the expansion npc's. I have made unscripted versions of the custom items already but I still need the unscripted Expansion items (at least the cuffs and boots). I will see about putting them together for the release I have planned for the next DD update (it is pretty much done, just waiting on the update).

1- I have Elisif escort you to the door as she goes and locks it at the start of the scene. The greeting dialogue played by npc's isn't normal dialogue but is actually in a scene and started by a script, once I let go of her AI it is triggered.

2- Currently Erani is moved to the VIP house and set up once the player reads the letter, the delay that was happening before was caused by her setup. I have added some AI packages to keep her in the VIP house until the start of the scene and have set her normal AI routine to follow the player (was not set to that before).

3- Found the issue with the quest markers, I had the objective's switched for Ulfric and Jorlief so if Ulfric was there it set Jorlief's as completed.

I will put in "Activate to Continue" when I can, it just has to be some place where the player has control of their character. Scenes can cause problems if actors are missing (as in your example) and are unable to finish, luckily if they are no longer in the loaded cell it will automatically finish. I have learned a number of new things with them and dialogue that will hopefully help avoid some issues that happen with mine from time to time.

I agree with Vel, your issues are likely with another mod.

If you went back in this thread 150-250 pages you would find I had the same issue, I couldn't get through the second quest because of all the crashes and hangs after each sex scene. I changed so many things at once, including installing a new update from CD, that I wasn't sure what fixed it.

I went back and updated all the lesser stuff I normally forget to check for updates on, stuff like the body skeleton, HDT and devious arousal. There's a second arousal mod on lovers lab now, works fine for me, found here http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/1421-sexlab-aroused-redux/If you're not sure what all needs updates, you could use the recursive tree approach to updating stuff by looking up every mod this mod relies on, and the mods those mods rely on, and checking if there is an update for each one.

I also didn't realize you don't just have to register animations with sexlab but with DD too, if you go to devious device menu and look at sex animation filter, bound animations have to be registered or those animations will fail.

If you can't get it working, I still highly recommend trying the quest on a new character, just to rule out the possibility of a save with bugged scripts.

Hey, Vel? I have a bit of an issue (not a bug, more an immersion breaker) with how the expansion questline gets started.

In my current playthrough, I've barely interacted with the CD shop at all due to various situations involving Deviously Cursed Loot's special devices (specifically the High Security gear and the Slave Collar). So when I finally hit the level trigger, and the courier gives me the first letter, I'm like: "Huh? Why would she think I'm the one that should do this when she barely knows me?"

My suggestion: Tie it to the player's errand running count/success rate. Or her disposition towards us. Or whatever, so long as it says "Yeah we've been interacting with the shop for a while now," you know?

If I've been to the shop a dozen times, successfully retrieved some packages and delivered others, then I could believe that she thinks I'd be perfect for the job. But not when i've only been in the shop once. (I was belted when I first met her so I couldn't run any errands then, and I've been wearing a DCL Slave Collar since so I haven't been back yet.)

Also, I think someone suggested earlier that some retrievals could transition into deliveries? If so, I'll second that idea; otherwise, I'll make the request now. :D Kinda: "If you can get this package back fast enough, you could prevent me from having to refund the client's payment if you'd deliver it directly to them. There'll be a bonus for you if you can." That's just one potential take on the possibility. I'm sure there are others.

Anyway, hope you had a good holiday and hope you're having fun modding! :)
