If so, it does indeed as far as I can tell. I also don't recall touching this part ever since I took over the mod.

By a quick look, it actually may need some tweaking, but I'll look into the regression it might cause first then adjust it accordingly.

I've remembered that Devious Cidhna (which was made around the same-ish time DHLP was still in its original phase) did this in its quests that involved banditos:

I ended up adding something similar for the time being. If the suspend logic for DHLP ends up getting tweaked I can remove it but should be fine if not.

Every device keyword that is selected under "Worn Restraints That Trigger Attacks" in the config menu.

 

If there is something that is not working but you think it should, describe the scenario in which the issue happens and fetch me a log.

The mcm is very limited, I am trying to modify devices to work better with DHLP, but I am having trouble figuring out what it's looking for
The exact example is the dwarven curse from devious curses, but if I could figure out what keywords it's looking for, I could just add those to whatever devices from any mod

Hello,
I have a problem with the mod, the events do not get triggered when my character is unarmed (tried both options) and isn't bound yet.
Checked this forum for solutions, found them but unfortunately they do not seem to work.

Then checked for any possible conflicts (didn't find any), tried reinstalling these mods (didn't work) and suspendin then unsuspending the mod event (which also didn't work)

I'd gladly try out any suggestions and possible solutions.

No events should trigger if the player is not wearing any of the kind of restraints that are set as triggering attacks in the config menu.

The no weapons equipped/no weapons drawn option is only taken into consideration after the player is found wearing one of those restraints that trigger attacks.

Okay, I've definitely ran into a weird issue where actors are assigned correctly through SPID, go through initial dialogue, knock me to the ground, and then skip any attack scene and go straight to telling me to get out of here.  Tried to identify issues through the verbose logging MCM option and no [ helpless ] lines even appear in my papyrus log.  I do have a lot of warnings for other mods like a previous user did, so I'm going to see how much I can fix through reinstalling my modlist, but I'm curious if anyone has any leads for an issue like this

If you are sure you have enabled logging for DHLP, make sure to enable logging for DD and SexLab as well, and see if there's anything of note. Not sex scene happening hints either at a DD or SL issue, namely that no fitting animation was found.

Oh I was a fool, my issue was 100% user error, I hadn't properly set up SL on that save.  It's been long enough that I forgot you have to initialize it on a new install in the MCM.  Got my load order fixed up regardless, and your mod is working like a charm!  Appreciate the help

Hey I'm sure this was suggested once or twice already, but how about Simple Slavery integration? So valid attackers where it makes sense (Bandits etc.) would knock you out and sell you for a pretty penny. Surely they'd pay well for what looks to be a runaway slave! :classic_tongue: Perhaps there could even be a chance they don't even have their way with you, to hopefully make more off of you this way. Lucky you! More or less~

I'm pretty sure the topic has come up before, however I'm having trouble reconciling it as an outcome with this mod's intentions - see, the the core of DHLP is: "get chased -> get fucked -> get bound -> get away". Skipping the sex and the bondage kinda throws out most that 😕

Absolutely!  Feel free to use the stuff that you like.  The vulnerabilities that I added aren't technically "devious", but they make the mod more relevant in a game by giving players more ways to get in trouble, and they're all optional.

Deviously Helpless Redux v1.40 has been released!

 

Some fixes and optimizations as usual, but some new features as well, I've been excited to share this update, so let's see what's in it: ☺️

 

Changes:

  • Overhauled item stealing and greatly expanded the list of items the attackers can steal from the player
  • Improved sex animation selection and filtering
  • Removed unused, leftover legacy code
  • Issue and code logic fixes
  • Code optimizations

Additions:

  • Added a vulnerability system titled Helplessness, similar to the one introduced in Deviously Helpless Extended by @Hex Bolt:
    • Sex attacks will now only happen if the player's Helplessness level is above the Helplessness threshold set in the config menu
    • Restraints and certain conditions (like nudity) now have configurable values as to how much they contribute to the total Helplessness
    • Added an optional mod integration with Love Sickness - being Love Sick can now also make the player vulnerable to sex attacks!
  • Added the possibility for the player to drop her weapons when her plug gets inflated, similarly to the existing vibration event
  • Added a chase distance for attackers:
    • they won't chase the player everywhere until the timer makes them give up the chase
    • once attackers are sufficiently far away from their starting place, they'll also give up the chase - for example, bandits will chase the player until a bit outside their camps and forts

 

Should be fine on an ongoing save, provided no DHLP events are currently active!

 

v1.40 has been redeployed a few minutes after the original release for addressing some minor issues, recommend downloading it again!
