So hears the problem I'm having. I cast calm and nothing happens. I cast Harmony and it says some thing about unleashing carnal power from sanguine's realm but nothing happens.

So I noticed the sexlab.esm was not high in the load order, so I moved it up as high as it would go. Now it all works.

Does this and Sexlab Defeat (http://www.loverslab.com/topic/19941-defeat-v5b33fixed-805/) still cause incompatibility issues?

I asked this same question in the Sexlab Defeat topic.

Err what? I've never heard about any compatibility issues between Enchantress and Defeat. I mean heck, I'm playing with Defeat.

I read in another thread that there exists a compatibility issue between Enchantress and Defeat: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/37942-having-trouble-with-mods/

Are you trying to run all these mods at the same time? Even though they can be compatible (i.e. they won't cause your computer to CTD if run together), often times they will still get in each others way. SexLab Defeat and SexLab Enchantress don't like each other for example. They will run together but neither will actually function (although to be fair, SexLab Enchantress won't function in general).

That guy is making stuff up. I don't see any reason for Defeat and Enchantress not to work. They work together very well in my games, and their scripts activate at completely different situations.

As for his complaints that Enchantress "won't function in general", I can't help him with technical issues if he never even posted to ask for support in this thread. This thread is usually buried at page 3~4 on this forum which to me signals very few people have any technical problems with it.

I've been using Enchantress and Defeat for about a month now, and have no complaints.

@Gabe-A: Have you tried it yet? I promise the two mods won't form some sort of symbiotic relationship and devour your computer from the inside out leaving an empty case.

And if Matrix Prime's Enchantress won't function, I'd be willing to bet that it's some other mod overwriting or otherwise messing with the spells themselves.

Yes, great. Thank you for the reply. That was exactly what I wanted to hear.

Good luck with this mod! I will try it later tonight. It sounds amazing.

I added an explanation of how to deal with the framework bug with the Arrok Devil's Threeway animation to the original post under 'known issues'.

I got the new version of Enchantress and Pacify works fine. (Haven't tried Calm.) I made doubly sure I was using Enchantress's version of Harmony but it seems to be missing its Enchantress component, as it only made the bandits non-hostile but didn't trigger any sex animations. I shall attempt the Devil's Threeway sometime soon.

Well crap. I haven't tested Harmony out as I haven't made any changes in it and it used to work fine. I just checked in my game and it indeed doesn't work, will have to hunt down the bug.

Posted

Alright, I did more thorough testing and Harmony does work. The problem with my previous test is that I used a very old save since I didn't have Harmony unlocked on newer ones, and that save was under a way older version of SexLab which caused issues. So I re-tested with a new save by giving myself the Harmony tome through console commands and the spell works fine. If you're having issues with it, can you tell me your results when you cast it, say, 3 times in a row, in a place with no enemies near active NPCs, and with a save that only ever used SexLab versions 1.50 and higher?

I have a problem with spells.

Sex never starts when I cast Calm. Animation only starts when Harmony spell is used.

However, after animation is started with Harmony spell, there comes another problem. My PC and creature takes their positions for sex and after 1 or 2 secs ...*poof*... creature is thrown to the sky and disappears :o and sex ends immediately.

I could start sex scene without problems only with shout. None of the spells works correct.

I tried ticking "reinstall spells and powers" and ticked the easy setting and unticked it back again and again, but they didn't work. :(

I'm having the very same problem described above.

It's very odd since I have SD and Defeat working just fine. Have anybody found any way to work this around?

By default Calm only works on creatures and not on humanoids, to make it work on humanoids there's an option in Enchanterss' MCM called 'Very Easy' mode.

The issue with NPCs flying to the sky is a specific bug with the Devil's Threeway animation. I wrote in the original post how to deal with this bug under 'Known Issues'.

Yeah, I'm well aware that I have to turn Easy Mode on in order to make Calm work on NPCs. I did a fresh install and the problem went away, but began anew shortly after that. As it has stated before, the animation DO play, but it ends after 2 seconds. It seems like I'm not the only one for whom Enchantress is exhibiting such behaviour.

It's worth to say that I had no problems at all with the previous versions, but I was forced to upgrade because of incompatibility issues with the current SexLab version.

The people who talked about the NPCs shooting up to the sky after two seconds were specifically talking about threesome animations which I bug tested and discovered to be the Arok Devil's Threeway bug.

Which animation is played when this bug happens to you? It's possible more than that specific one is bugged and I don't know about it.

First o fal, thank you for being so helpful. You are doing a great job as a modder, and I'd love to experience your work to it's full potential.

It's happening with every animation, and they aren't being catapulted sky high as in Arok Devil's Threeway. I believe it might be due to some conflict in my load order. I'm leaving here my mod list as it is right now:

Let me know if you need any aditional info. I will be trying to mess with the load order and see if I can fix that meanwhile.
Thank you for the quick answer.

[EDIT]

Just did a couple tests with differend load orders and it didn't go any better. By the way, Pacify is displaying the same issue as Calm.

That's a lot of mods, it would be hard to discover if any one of them conflicts with so many active. It might help to turn off all of the mods besides the necessary sexlab ones and enchantress and see if the problem persists, but I don't know if you're using an MO or not and how hard it is to disable so many mods and later turn them on again.

Here's some questions to try digging for more info that might help me try to recreate the issue:

  • Are you using a new save that didn't have any versions of SexLab on it older than 1.50?
  • Did you switch between a save that has SexLab 1.50+ and one that has an older version of SexLab without quitting the game first?
  • Which animation skeleton are you using?
  • Are you using the toggleable free camera option in the SexLab MCM?
  • Do you have the foreplay option enabled?
  • Are you using the strip animations option?
  • If you use the calm spell on a low level NPC in a closed area (no danger of dragons flying over) and no monsters nearby, and you use it three times in a row, does the same thing happen every time with the animation stopping after 2 seconds?
  • When the animation stops do you get control of your character back? Does the NPC get a green glow from the spell's effect?
  • Do you or the NPC have an effect of you that causes periodical damage or places you in combat?

Thanks again for the quick reply.

Please tell me if you need more specific answers. There you go:

  • Q- Are you using a new save that didn't have any versions of SexLab on it older than 1.50?
A- Yes, it's happening even with brand new game. (I did test inside qasmoke)

  • Q- Did you switch between a save that has SexLab 1.50+ and one that has an older version of SexLab without quitting the game first?
          A- No, I didn't.

  • Q- Which animation skeleton are you using?
          A- This one
  • Q- Are you using the toggleable free camera option in the SexLab MCM?
          A- No.

  • Q- Do you have the foreplay option enabled?
          A- Yes.

  • Q- If you use the calm spell on a low level NPC in a closed area (no danger of dragons flying over) and no monsters nearby, and you use it three times in a row, does the same thing happen every time with the animation stopping after 2 seconds?
A-  It always happens, no matter how many times I cast.

  • Q- When the animation stops do you get control of your character back? Does the NPC get a green glow from the spell's effect?
A - The glow indicating the calm effect imediately fades away and the enemy turns hostile again.

  • Q- Do you or the NPC have an effect of you that causes periodical damage or places you in combat?
          A- Not really.

Sometimes modders will make a spell with an area effect for something hidden behind the scenes. Like (for example) if you want to add a new stealth mechanic to the game, you'll create a spell that fires off every few seconds with a large area of effect, and the effect is a script that checks to see if a target is facing the same direction as the player.

And sometimes the modders will accidentally make such an effect tagged as "hostile" even though it's not actually doing anything for combat, damage, etc. So these "cloak spells" will trigger hostile reactions when they hit an NPC even though nothing hostile actually happened.

This is (I believe) because most vanilla "cloak spells" are hostile in nature (flame cloak, etc) so I think that's the default setting, and it's easy to overlook just checking a box... at least, I think that's why this happens often. I'm no CK expert.

What mods are you using that might have area of effect triggers? Like a mod that says "everyone within 30 meters of the player" or something like that?

EDIT: Never mind, I see your load order above... I'll take a look at it and see if I recognize anything that might be doing this.

EDIT 2: I don't recognize most of your mods, but those I do recognize shouldn't have any issues like this. But again, I'm no expert, and like I said I'm not familiar with a lot of what you're running.  :dodgy:

EDIT 3: I wonder if there's some conflict with Sexlab Stop Combat... I've never used it, so I don't know if it might be causing an issue here...?

Posted

Yeah, that's most lilely a conflict with Sop Combat or Craftable Panties which includes an script to make very female in Skyrim wear the panties created by gotha83.
I will try disabling both mods and see if the problem persists.

[EDIT]

Something I forgot to mention is that the scenes actualy skips straight to the end rather than being just interrupted. Everything works as if the scene had actually ended. For instance, cum effects are applied normally

Posted

What Content Consumer said is one of two theories I was thinking of about your issue. I tried to recreate it again yesterday with the extra info with no success. What's telling is that the calm effect also immediately disappears even though it's supposed to last 30 seconds at minimum. That together with the script that stops Enchantress' sex scenes if either character is attacked lead me to think there might be some hostile cloak spell involved. An example of a mod that uses a cloak spell is SexLab Aroused for example, though in the case of aroused the cloak spell isn't tagged as hostile so it doesn't cause any problems.

Another theory is that your timescale is maybe set wrong. Try typing in the console 'Set timescale to 20' , that's the default timescale speed of the game.

One more thing, I'm not sure if SexLab Squirt is updated for newer versions of SexLab? It was last updated in February, you could check if disabling it helps.

Posted

It turns out that unninstalling a few mods made the problem go away. I'm not sure which one was the culprit though.

The timescale wasn't wrong since it was happening specificly with Enchantress. It wans't Squirt's fault either since I didn't disable this mod. I believe it was SexLab Stop Combat that was messing with Calm duration.

I've beem playing for a few hours and it seems like Enchantress is working fine now. As I've stated earlier, I did manage to get it working a couple times before, but the problem kept poping up over and over again. I'm not sure if it's gone for good now, but I'll let you guys know if it ever comes back.

I can't thank you guys enough for all the help.

Posted

Sure. :)

Well I downloaded 'SexLab Stop Combat' and managed to recreate your bug, which means it's indeed the guilty mod. I'm adding to the original post's incompatibilities list.

Posted

I'm glad we have finally pinpointed the source of that annoying bug.

Enchantress is indeed a huge load of fun and that would be shame to have it spoiled by something like that.

You have my kudos!

Posted

This mod is great, but I encountered a really bizarre bug.  For some reason, Enchantress skips certain animations.  Specifically, the Arrok Missionary animation will only trigger from an Enchantress spell if it is the ONLY valid animation enabled in the animation list.  If any other animation is enabled that works for a single partner, it will not play Arrok Missionary.  The animation plays normally if triggered by another mod, such as Defeat (which is how I noticed it was missing from Enchantress).  There may be other animations where this happens, but I haven't noticed them.
