After talking to the Captain, you should meet Balazar on the stairs leading up from the dock. After Balazar's conversation, Balazar begins following you, and then the marker should lead you to the exterior pit market area, and specifically to the door to the pit area located at the bottom of the stairs in the exterior pit market area. When you go to that door, you should find it locked, but Balazar will help you open it.

 

If you did skip over Balazar, how did you get into the bloodworks?

I use the Creation Kit to create mods. Just take one step at a time. Maybe start by making a new NPC, giving them dialogue and/or AI packages and putting them in the world. It's easier now with AI tools to support you, since the documentation is otherwise a lot of random posts in a lot of random threads.

She's a pirate who is being punished for falling asleep drunk on watch. She should have dialogue that says this. I'll check this. In any case, she's not trying to escape.

Thanks. I'm planning to have future fights/sex with Hela in the pit (PC as spectator). No promises on the PC in the pit though. I'm afraid it will be a lot more work than just using Hela, but I could be wrong.

I didnt fast travel but i figured out what i did wrong. I started the Windhelm quest with female Balazar but changed him to male along the way. Everyone was referring to "her" Balazar and event looked for female version when i had male. For example after finishing and talking to Liesl if she wants to sleep with Balazar she agrees but animation starts only for female balazar

Ok, I am currently having the same issue. When I talk to the captain everything is great, I can walk to the pit market or whatever. Balazar dialogue triggers for lock, then he talks about the not going with part, Is that supposed to happen before the door? Cause now the door is unlocked, but theres no dialogue options for the pit fighters, I didnt fast travel. The only thing I can think of thats wrong with it is that I get attacked by a chain beast before I get there. Maybe that breaks something? Or my dialogue is triggering in the wrong order. Not sure

I had this problem as well, I just found the quest ID (can find it by doing "help blzr_windhelm2") then found where I was in the quest with "sqs -quest ID-" and used "setstage -quest id- -stage-" but yeah had the same problem.

Other than that I really enjoyed the quest.

Good point. I'm putting the current Balazar at each quest start into an "alias" for quest functionality. So, a gender switch in the middle of the quest will result in Balazar not being in the correct alias for quest markers, force greets and other AI packages. I'll add a warning somewhere to not change Balazar's gender in the middle of a quest.

The likely issue is that your PC is not wearing one of Balazar's collars. Just before he leaves you (the "stay behind" dialogue, which is before you enter the bloodworks), he has dialogue/code to remove the PC's collar based on the three different collar types. But I didn't add dialogue for a "none of the three collars" scenario (since the PC is supposed to be wearing one). So, if your PC is not wearing one of his collars, you won't get the final line of dialogue and the stage won't advance.

 

I suppose I could be generous and have the dialogue check the PC's equipped items AND inventory for the collar. But having Balazar take the collar is how I'm keeping track of what collar he gives back to the PC later. So, he does need to take it from somewhere.

 

If this is the issue, may I ask why you are taking the collar off? Are they all annoying? Conflicting with other collars? Any ideas for a desired alternate collar?

Hi, just wanted to double check if it's normal for Balazar to die? I had a fun game where I am the archmage and wanted to shoo him while he is still a dog, he died in 2 spells, so is it only my game or?
Also he died on me in the temple where he charged the priestess and ate a few lightings to the face :)
Great mod, really liked the whole story so far!

With the most recent version, I am having a lot of issues with Hela's bear. I originally tried it but every time the scene tried to start I was teleported into what seemed to be a different cell and then my game would stop responding and I would have to shut it down in task manager. I tried this a few times with the same result. I eventually used setstage to get past it and ended the quest normally. 

The issue comes up afterwards. Now every time an animal scene attempts to start with my PC, it attempts to teleport me wherever the bear scene tried to. This is including hours down the line too. Any ideas what the scene is trying to do or how to disable it?

That happened to me too (the black screen and system hang with the first bear sex), which was odd because I had playtested this a dozen times prior. It's not the bear. I changed the code (to troubleshoot) and it's any sex scene outside the fort. Then I realized I had recently enabled DynDOLOD. I disabled that and then it worked fine. 

 

You may have noticed that the island doesn't have LODs, not even for terrain or water. I used fog at the top of the island to hide the limited water cells visible. I tried to create LODs for the island but failed. However, I made a pre-LOD-attempt backup of the mod and that is what was posted, and there are no LOD files in the mod package. So, I don't know exactly what the conflict is, but it does appear to be related to DynDOLOD.

I dont remember taking off the collar. But at some point after the solitude quest I did I guess. I dont think any of the collars are annoying. I honestly dont remember taking it off.

Ok, Now I rememeber. I couldnt wear a full set of armor with either of the collars on. So to wear the full armor, the collar had to go. For some reason the collars make it so the game thinks my PC has their hands tied. Which prevents one piece of an armor to not allow me to put on.

thanks for the new update, its playable even though theres some stage where i stuck
blzr_windhelm2 400 (when following the previous champ upstairs. she goes straight to bed)

and

blzr_windhelm2 530 (when back to windhelm dock, trio gladiot talk but stuck on certain dialog)

the game unequipped my collar when the jarl arrested my character, and it never auto re-equipped it, honestly thought it was intended for the quest in some way.

Hi,

 

First I want to thank you for the great mod, it is awesome 👍.

 

I came across a bug in the game.  After fighting the wraiths, I get back in the Bloodworks training area and the quest arrow point to Edorfin, but he has no dialogue.  Only by moving the quest forward through the console was I able to get the objective to get some wine from the guard.

 

That's the point I am at now.  Thanks again for the mod, I'm looking forward to the quests in the other cities 😁.

Thanks. Balazar's three actors (male, female and husky) are all set as "Essential", so it should be impossible to kill them. Do you have some mod that allows you to kill "essential" actors?
