Updated files, files are separated out a bit so you should just need to download what you may be missing. SSE files were complete but have been separated a bit now as well (there are no part 4 files for SSE).

I have no idea how to do it, other people handled all the meshes and textures for me. If I could I would have made new ones long ago along with quite a few others that I use myself.

I've done a "DD4 to DD5" conversion recently of the Devious Deviants mod, it was more a matter of being able to make use of all the quicker (un)equip functions but these are the steps I took. I've also done it on a number of older mods like Angrims. The procedure is the same.

 

-Used 'Everything' to search within script files to all the legacy lock and unlock function calls. Replace these with the new DD5 calls (as described in the zadlibs script)

-Mostly optional: Removed the device script on devices. Saved the device, added the new script on it to make sure the DD5 device script is fully attached. Filled in the new messages

-Fully optional: rename devices to use the now standard _inventory and _rendered. And remove the 3rd variant if the mod is ancient.

-Checked plugs. The old plug system used 2 plugs at the same time. This is changed to 2 separate plugs. Depending on how old the DD4 version was this might already be done.

I just gave all my stuff to my followers and told them to relax for awhile, and hit the Slavery Start in CD's MCM.  After a couple days in the mine, I have a couple things to report.  First, the chastity belt that I was put in was invisible.  I have all device hiders disabled so it should show up regardless of what I was wearing, but it was invisible when I was otherwise naked.  Secondly, I was able to unequip the belt and drop it from my inventory (and it was visible on the mine floor.)   Third, forgetting to disable proximity rape from Sexlab Adventures after getting back from an ore trade run, I notice that Sexlab only checks women to see if they're wearing chastity belts, it doesn't care of men are, they can still make use of their equipment.  :P Thats not a CD issue though, other than to note that most of the men in the mod wear them but they will have no effect.  

 

Oh one other thing, it would be nice if the player is issued miners boots like everyone else has in the mine, for people with mods that add speed debuffs and stumbling when you are barefoot (like SL Survival.)

Are they required to be in the first place? Provided their meshes and purpose aren't radically different from those in DD itself, omitting the custom models in favor of them would save space and complexity.

How do I unlock  Assist Customers 2  and chaste life? The other big mansions are already build.

I already remember that this version had many bugs. For example no quest entry for retrieval missions.

@Veladarius I can't believe my eyes......I would have rather expected the spanish inquisition to show up at my doorstep today ?. It is so good to see you again and see this mod up again. I have held on to it and was still playing it all this time. Thanks again for inspiring all of us and hope life is treating you more kindly.

All DD items use the existing DD meshes, invisible item = no mesh. I have played through the slavery portion in the mine and the devices showed up properly. As for the issues with them being removable make sure to use the stand alone esp file, that is the one I am using and have updated device properties for v4 of DD. If you are using v5 of DD I have no clue as to what changes have been made yet

No, they should be included with DD but I do have additional textures not included with DD (transparent colored suits)

Assist customers 2 requires a good relationship with Master and for customers to come, you should receive a letter via courier when it is available. Chaste life requires you to be a virgin, reset your sex diary stats in SexLab if necessary. Also the quests need to be enabled in the MCM menu.

Retrieval quest has been showing up for me so far including quest markers showing where the courier is.

I will check out the updated lock and unlock functions, most of these are centralized in CD.

Removing and adding scripts isn't happening, it took a while just to auto populate the script properties on all of the devices.

Device names can stay as is, I don't see a reason to change them

Plugs were separated to individual devices in v2 of DDi (I think, I know it was fairly early on but they were left in DDa and DDi). All of my plugs are individual devices.

I have a new char that is a virgin. how exactly do I start chaste Life? Is it a dialogue quest with the master?

I hadn't installed Part 3 when I posted that, I thought it wasn't neccessary.  I've since installed it and though I didn't find any CD entries to build in Bodyslide,  then next time they put a chastity belt on me it showed up and wasn't removable that way.  

 

Since it looked like you hadn't actually changed anything, all I did was reactivate what I had installed before the mod's removal.

Plugs were separated to individual devices in v2 of DDi (I think, I know it was fairly early on but they were left in DDa and DDi). All of my plugs are individual devices.

The script swap is mainly to allow the more detailed DD5 messages to show up. If I recall correctly most if not all of CD devices use custom messages so it should not matter. Do check the logs for VMAD errors. Those can cause issues or at least clutter savefiles. You need to enable debug and trace logging for these to show up I believe.

 

The names are more a OCD type of thing so hence the fully optional tag. But on very old mods there are stil the 3-device setup which can cause issues if selected by accident (device, device_inventory, device_scriptinstance). That will break DD.

 

For the plugs one thing to check is the ground model. The combined plug model which some modders used with the 'nulltextureset' override got removed for some reason.

I am pulling out my hair though... the catsuit bodyslide thing.... I wish it would just use the Devious Device bodyslide because I can't get the LE one to work at all. It looks weird as heck. I tried installing CBBE instead of 3BA, different bodyslide presets. MXW has been a pain in my butt for years! Can anyone help? (Using SE.)

It should automatically start if you do the Delivery task and should on the Free Trial as well. If you ask to buy something to keep you safe from bandits she will offer the Protector series of items but you can ask for something more secure.

No idea on SE, I have it but never installed it.

Transparent suits were added to DD in either 5.0 or 5.1, so if you intend to switch to DD5, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to textureset them and not worry about bodyslides.

After a couple days working for the smith, she sent me to find something from the adventurer slave.  Got it and returned, she took my items back and put me back in my smith clothes, but now when I talk to her she says I'm not one of master's slaves, and the logbook is reset to what it looked like on the very first day.  Did I get promoted again and missed the dialogue?  Did I fall  out of being a slave somehow?  Not sure who I should talk to now.

 

Edit:  I just did another day in the smithy with a fresh new quota, and the next day got asked by the Master to get the package at the Lighthouse, so I guess I'm back on track.  Taking the loooooong way back to avoid all settlements.  Closest thing to civilization I'll pass is Kolskeggr (sp?) mine and Old Hroldan.
