Overall Status update:

 

 

Mod status: An update to this is currently very unlikely due to issues with the mod itself for several reasons:

1- My scripts are a complete mess and unorganized. Many variables are no longer used due to being duplicated sometimes in multiple places. Due to my own issues I am having problems following where scripts interact with each other due to time spent away from the mod and other issues discussed below.

2- Basic quest setup is not very good. The main issue here is how the Aliases are handled and that nearly all quests are active from the start. This causes any filled aliases to be tracked constantly even when the area isn't loaded.

3- All devices need the scripts rebuilt and the easiest way is to rebuild every device which will change all the ID's for them requiring every property calling on them to be changed. While I had reduced the number of places they were referenced there are many that are hidden away in scripts in various places.

4- A few quests are overly complex and need broken into multiple parts (Property Slave is a prime exmple).

 

Overall I am back to where I was when I stopped development years ago, the mod needs rebuilt nearly from the ground up (exterior and interiors are ok but will need many position markers removed)

 

 

My status: Due to long term side effects from previous medications and side effects from current medications I am having some mental difficulties. My mental state leading up to the removal of the mod initially were influenced by my medications then and while my mental stats is more stable I am having issues with my memory and hand-eye coordination (typing can be challenging). While my memory isn't swiss cheese like it was around 2020 when I had issues remembering what I went into another room for I still have issues remembering words and console/script commands (the word is gone from my mind but I can tell you the definition and it can last for a few days). I am under several doctors care for both my mental and physical health and was declared disabled a few years after I had removed Captured Dreams years ago.

 

 

What I am considering: I am considering rebuilding things using the most recent version of DD but I have been considering this for quite a while and have not reached a decision. Part of what is pushing me to consider doing it is that I have an idea of a major change that would be made to the mod which includes a new npc who is an equal to Master and that person would be in a new location. This is something that has been milling around in my head for a while and with how they and Master would interact, where their activities overlap and where they are different.

Some things to watch out for in scenes and dialogue (these are the main game issues I have run across):
1: Property Slave - Moving from the guard house to the smithy scene restarting - At the end of the scene while in the guard house if the scene ends while there is ANY player dialogue visible the scene will repeat when you get to the smithy and will be stucck in a loop. This is a Skyrim issue as it doesn't recognize the scene as having ended as long as the dialogue is there and will restart the dialogue. There are ways to end scenes before intended but they don't work when the scene hands over to dialogue via forcegreet. Just activate the dialogue again before the end of the scene and it will go away. I tested this numerous times and if the dialogue was there it repeated 100% of the time and if it wasn't then it continued properly 100% of the time

2: Serving a guest as a slave or master - Don't rush through dialogue, there are scripts running during it and can result in multiple instances of the script running at once.

3: Scenes where the forcegreet doesn't start - I have seen this a number of times in the shop when putting items on the player or start of punishments. A general way to restart things is the following:

   1- enable player controls

   2- talk to Master or whomever else is in control of things

   3- exit the normal dialogue that appears

   4- the scene should pick up where it stopped

   5- disable your controls again

A true blast from the past. I imagine there are quite a few folks here these days that didn't even know of CD. Only the mere rumours and rumblings from days gone.

I don't see changing to v5+ of DD as every place where I reference DD items, keywords or anything else from DD would be broken. Biggest issue is the keywords since these are used in numerous scripts and dialogue conditions as well as devices.

Ikons never die....this happening makes all the experienced work of one of the best quest-authors of the past giving us one of the most famous LL mods back for all future times!
