I chose the lower fertility trait change because the poor Magister is stretched pretty thin trying to satisfy so many adoring women, and having a Sacred Child should be a bigger deal. We've got cool Admin Carna options that deliberately impregnate through family planning, made totally pointless with natural high fertility. Also, massive birth rates make the Sacred Childbirth tenet the only logical choice, because all that free Piety income makes it easy to turn every Mulsa into a genetically engineered super woman, and provides an endless source of easy Contubernalis knights with raid prisoners after using them to reduce stress. Of course, with so many free knights from the endless supply of children, it's hardly a problem (although the game becomes continually interrupted by coming-of-age Mulsa events from them!). An embarrassment of riches. 😆 Lowering the Fertility Rate fixes all these issues. I still think there's too many automatic raid prisoners, though. 1

You know, people keep saying "Just have fewer children!" as if having a ridiculous number of children wasn't one of my main reasons for playing this mod. Yeah, sure, my last game I bogged down when, after 20 years, I had 800 wives, 200 concubines, and 2000 children, and clicking on myself, one of my children, or "Educate Child" meant I had to wait five minutes for it to return. Self-control? What's that? Every vassal should be a paelex! Every buxom or albino woman should be a concubine! All Empire Titles are belong to me! Anyway, I hear there's a new version. Time to try it out. I think maybe next game I'll start in Jerusalem. 1

Why would you want to try? The very foundational concept is a male power fantasy Yes and no, the male power fantasy was the first part to get coded and it has been the only part to see any real development work. But at one point a game rule for a female magister(magistress?) was under consideration(and briefly implemented, IIRC), at which point it would become a bi/lesbian female power fantasy. It's part of the reason why the moment I recently broke open the tools to fix some other errors in the English localization, I started to "strategically" target events and add in the dynamic code for switching between genders of the target in the encounters that caught my attention. Because a female magister playthrough might be looking for an occasional piece of man-meat for reproductive reasons. But just the localization files are going to take a fair bit more work to chew through (Where many of them likely shouldn't be made dynamic--so just running a replace search is a problem; and some additional custom dynamic text will need to be configured/added), never mind the changes to the underlying code that calls those events. I think it's still on the informal to-do list, but it is way down the list. Other contributors helping work through needed alterations could possibly speed along that process though. So long as they're not creating larger headaches. The "bigger issue" is game engine mechanics introduce sufficient challenges that a female magister playthrough might be different enough from the male version(she isn't going to sire a legion of kids by other women) as to warrant its own sub-mod. I think most of the mechanics the mod is built around wind up failing with the way just being a woman works. Although I wouldn't be too against some mechanics that make playing as a female and looking for a magister candidate a thing, but that's a very limited section of the mod so I can see why you wouldn't want to put too much time into something like that as a dev.

Monedeath Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 I am unable to reproduce the issue. Verify the integrity of your game files through Steam and the other assorted stock troubleshooting steps for the base game, you likely have a corrupted file somewhere in the base game files. RM just happened to be the lucky contestant for invoking it first.
Tyrranus Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 anyone know if this mod works with asia expansion, bronze age reborn, oriental empires, or shogunate mods?
Arjik Posted March 10, 2025 Posted March 10, 2025 I have a question about Admina Carna's Family Planning task. Does it check for character's fertility? The thing is, at some point even with low fertility there are going to be a lot of children, which cause massive slowdown very quickly. I thought that maybe I could somewhat delay that by going celibate/rejected from marriage bed but still have children through the Family Planning task. However, in my testing despite the event window popping up, not one of my many wives/concubines get pregnant. Is it possible to change the event in such a way taht it ignores the fertility of the characters?

Tried them, still same issue, I can kind of make it work with debug so I think it just something to do with transitions or something, but it does not really let me make more of the flavor decisions the mod gives.

modernliar Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 Can anyone tell me where the titles like Magister or Famuli are in the localization folder? like what yml file I have to edit. I get regula_magister and regula_magister_female as titles, and I just want to fix it for myself.
Npi9 Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 The power to turn a ruler into a vassal doesn't check to see if it's actually possible. Like if you're landless. It just takes the prestig and nothing happens.
Barkes Posted March 12, 2025 Posted March 12, 2025 Hello. I don't know why, but when I start the game, selecting the desired playset, the mod doesn't start. I checked everything several times, everything is installed correctly. The only mod that works correctly is the mod that I downloaded from Steam. The same problem with other mods that I downloaded here. Maybe someone had a similar problem?

This makes sense to me, Remember that the Regula religion is all still open to the players interpretation, but the general idea of having a "Keeper of Souls" means that by killing someone, you are effectively returning their "Soul" to her. Whether this is for rebirth or judgement is upto the player headcannon, but this is still a religious process. Rending a soul is when you destroy the soul, which does not allow the poor sod to have their soul return to the afterlife. This can be seen both as blasphemous and also a very vile act. So I think it makes a lot of sense. On 3/8/2025 at 5:40 AM, xxdungeonxx1 said: Thanks for the update. Could it be posible to fix the issue with the "wrestling" tournament. In the backlog the ticket is to create and implement the following game rules: Magister Sex: Male (Default), Female, Both Famuli Sex: Female (Default), Male, Both Theres a lot of stuff that needs to be rewritten to allow this to work correctly in all cases, and even then as you say theres game engine limitations. A female Magister will have a smaller number of total children then a male Magister for example. The main thing is I'm not super invested atm into working on this as its a huge project, but I do want to keep the door open for other modders, which is why I now try to build new stuff that is more adaptable where possible. As long as: - They are not pregnant - They are "visibly" fertile (as in they aren't mashed up etc) - They are no rejected from the marriage bed (The magister can do this to any of his consorts via interaction) They have a chance to be picked, which will impregnate them. The chance to be picked is based on a number of factors, favouring higher rank devoted, and giving a big bonus to consorts with no children. 11 hours ago, modernliar said: Can anyone tell me where the titles like Magister or Famuli are in the localization folder? like what yml file I have to edit.
