[mod] Regula Magistri 2

Posted (edited)

Will delete if this is not the place for this.

Requesting help from more experienced modders/ people who understand the files. I'm using this mod with the Guardians of Azeroth mod. The only issue I'm having is eye genes conflicting. First every character was missing their right eye. I "fixed" this by deleting the eye genes file in RM. But now when I fascinare a character their eyes turn grey and their right eye disappears.

I would appreciate any info as to how to patch these mods eye gene files.

Alternatively if anyone who knows what they are doing and is feeling generous wants to make a patch I, and I'm sure many others would greatly appreciate it.

Also I'm just making the assumption that it is/ is only, the eye genes that are conflicting. That was my best guess as I'm currently troubleshooting with my limited understanding.

Hello! can anyone help me? I'm trying to change the condition that the MMA will also be unlocked if only men are allowed to become commanders etc. So that the culture continues to exist and research continues. How do I do this? I seem to be too stupid for this. I can't even manage it with chat gpt. ^^ and I don't know if it's important to mention but I changed the location to German.

You almost have it, the template is ankle_boot_heels_03
so its

# Add High Heels
accessory = {
    mode = add
    gene = shoes
    template = ankle_boot_heels_03
    value = { 0 1 }
}

Being able to make certain clothes standard would make playing longer games much more fun for me. Would this make the base game blindfold and the collar from Lazy's Skimpy Accessories appear on all Famuli? (I know almost nothing about modding sorry)

Quote

            # Add Blindfold
            accessory = {
                    mode = add
                gene = special_headgear_blindfold
                template = blindfold
                value = { 0 1 }
            }
            # Add Collar
            accessory = {
                    mode = add
                gene = headgear
                template = sub_collar
                value = { 0 1 }
            }

Seems its now crashing when starting a new character and trying to acquire the Regula Magistri as a pregenerated character. You click on the knock on door and the game crashes. I cleaned out the load order to just be Carnalitas and then Regula Magistri with nothing else. Problem occurs both with the latest version from here and with the version downloaded from the Git. I tried both a single county ruler in Norway and an Irishman with the earliest time. Hope all the information helps! Thanks!

Edit: So I loaded an older version of the mod from a week ago and found it didn't crash. Comparing the folder contents, I ended up editting the regula_religion.txt to remove the entry doctrine = doctrine_concubines that was not present in the build from a week ago and was then able to go through the start event without issue.

debug.log 1.83 MB · 0 downloads error.log 189.76 kB · 0 downloads game.log 99.88 kB · 0 downloads

It seems that I am facing the same problem.

Hi, I have a question for those that are better in understanding the code than me.

So I wanted to change the rule to make sure when the females follow the regula religion, they will also wear 'ankle high heels 3' and 'no cape'.

The current ruleset modifies it so they wear revealing cloths and no legwear.

My added code is circled in red below, but it doesn't seem to be working on a existing game or new game.

Any help please?

ps. I also wonder what the "value = 0" is for.

Wait, heels?  Where did you get heels from?

Oh, is this from that "Character Body Overhaul" mod or something?  I've tried to download that but Mega always craps out on me.

I've just been settling for putting all my mulsae into Indian High Nobility outfits as my best choice, but if there's better outfits out there...  Frankly I'd like to be able to just set standard outfits for different statuses (Paelices, concubines, Contubernales, etc.) but I haven't been able to figure out how that works.  Because it's time-consuming changing each one with the Better Barbershop, and it's my leading cause of crashes.

The current CBO Unofficial (the up to date version) has the option to download from Pixeldrain instead, which works for me

Anyone care to share working load orders? Would be super useful for those of us who havent been following this super close the last couple of months.

Standard CK3, or AGOT, since it seems like there's a compatch now.

So, curious question.
When my character (magister) and his spouse are the same house but have have different landed title, their child will be inside my character's court since it was not matrilineal marriage. That is fine since I have a super courtier to be their ward (I have Infinite Wards mod). But when they become an adult, I want them to move to their mother's court. I thought it was easy, just run a .txt with effect remove_courtier_or_guest and add_courtier, it was working no problem. However, when I grant one of the children a landed tittle as governor (the government was admin), somehow all the children comeback to the magister's court. Anyhow what might causing this and the possible way to make it work? Thank you in advance.

Also for my previous question regarding head of faith, I was dumb. It supposed to automatically make your character the hof when creating the faith regardless of it's type. Mine was not because my character was an adventurer and landless character can't become hof. But when you then become landed, you can't create the hof manually as RM nomads since the requirement was at least have one holy site. So i just forcefully make my character hof using basic script.

That actually seems pretty possible, after letting it run a bit longer, I had like 3 boys out of about 100 kids, then the save completely broke, not sure what happened there, but pretty certain it was a graphical error caused by CBO or PA, if I had to guess, then started a new game a different mod that also lets you change the kid genders, am using that now, also toning down the amount of kids, cause holy shit, it got ludicrous towards the end of not even one lifetime, like 500 kids in 60 years

On that note, is it possible to include a trait that has the same effect as celibate, but isnt celibate?

It feels weird to take celibacy to save my sanity, not that the piety loss really hurts

Two options here:

1. Use the "remove from Harem" interaction from this mod to selectively remove consorts from being able to have children. You can always undo it when you feel like it.

2. Use the decision from Carnilitas (which this mod depends on!) to use contraceptive on yourself, so you can't have any kids. You can also undo this when you feel like it.

2 seems like more your speed?

Also I've done a load of fixes for The well of Souls plus blessed pregnancies, so birth gender ratios should be much more consistent now.

The new blessed pregnancy trait to mark which one of your harem member has been blessed by mutare corpus is quite helpful, but I find the "find pregnant member(s) that hasn't been blessed every few months" routine to be quite intensive, is there any plan to make sure blessing pregnancies to be easier on player input?

Yes, I've added a very snazzy important action reminder which gives you a list of all consorts who can have their pregnancies blessed via Mutare Corpus.
It even orders them via pregnancy time!

Most likely, though apologies but I can't check if the gene/template values are right, good luck though!

I fully recommend CBO (unofficial now) for the revealing clothing. It works fantastically well with this mod.

As core, I use:

When I test Regula Magistri, I use this set of mods as my "Core mods"
The only two that are truly needed are Carnalitas and Regula Magistri though, all the rest are optional.

Then its completely upto you what mods you want.
Generally speaking, everything aside from total conversion mods work with Regula Magistri, and even then some total conversion mods might work well enough, eg using the nomads option.

I think this is a vanilla feature, CK3 thinks your adult kids should stay in your court, so if you move them out, they all return once something happens which triggers the check to see where they should be.
I would look into what flags are put on wandering characters maybe? If you flag a character as a wanderer then place them into mothers court that might keep them there?

Yeah, for Head of Faith I'm thinking of making a decision to just do it, so that if you land as an adventurer you can just click a button to get it.
Funny thing is that not being Head of Faith actually doesn't make much of a difference to how RM works.

Also, new Update!

A feature I'm most proud of this update is a new set of laws the Magister can use as the head of a Administrative government.

The Compedita election law can make all Magi rulers in your realm change how succession works, and its really cool to see it in action.
Happy for any feedback for the laws. Details in the patch notes.

Also, I've fixed the MAA nonsense in admin realms, now Title MAA will correctly be replaced without breaking things.
Plus, some more work on the marriage modifiers/effects, to make things work how I want RM to work.

This update will most like require a new save, just to bear in mind.

Not sure if this is possible, but could you guys make a modlist like the ones on nexus? So I can one click and get every updated mods, instead of scavenging the LL site for it? I'm sure the discord has modlist suggestions but I'm not making a discord accout just to access it. If there was a "maybe look at this mod next" section in the description would make it easier. anyways love the mod, had it since the 2.0 days. come a long way for sure.

Hi, small nitpick, but can you swap Mesh and Animation? Mesh is supposed to overwrite some files in Animation, that won't happen with this load order (the revealing clothing tags are added in CBO Mesh)

Thanks, will do
EDIT: Lol, just noticed that my regular playset has the order correct, while the test playset had it wrong
I was having issues with revealing clothing a while back, but I brushed it off because it started working again without me doing anything

Here's a small sneak preview of the new "Lewd/Regula" contracts
Lots of work still needs to be done, but now that I have a framework in place for generating my own contracts, should make this a lot easier
Also I understand how they work now, man you wouldn't believe how much junk code there is in vanilla CK3 game that just, doesn't get used at all...

Love the new update. Lots of cool new stuff and QoL features compared to when I last played.

On to suggestions and comments. I take it you came down on the side of not overwriting vanilla events for the most part, since that would really mess with compatibility? Understandable, even if it would be really cool to have Regula options in things like Grand Tours, Feasts, etc. I'd love to have tournaments for instance themed around the Magister.

Next, I'm not sure I understand how The Conturbernalium Tenet is supposed to function. I get that it is supposed to be the 'cruel' option, to make you more powerful from Thralls, rather than Paelexes, but it seems like there's... I don't know, a lack of features to support this? Are there no other ways of creating them aside from imprisoning and taking the 'Visit Prisoner' option all the way? Seems like there should be other ways. A special Orgy? Events to Thrall wives or concubines who displease you? A special tournament where the losers all get the enthralled Squid Game style?

Actually that last one sounds awesome either way. I'd love to see an all female tourney you could host.

Also, still think the book itself should be a court relic/artifact with its own stats.

EDIT: Also, I'm getting some strangeness in the barbershop. Cant change hair or face/headwear for certain characters, or I can change it, but there is a default option stuck on in addition to it. Applies at the very least to my own character and all of my wives, but not my concubines. Also affects the Pope and a few other characters that I've seen. This is using the CBO Unofficial load order recommended above, including placing Mesh after Animation. I also have Better Barbershop and it's CBO patch loaded as the last thing in load order.

This seems to be related to culture in some way that I don't understand. When my character is Irish for instance, and dominate a Mulsa, everything is fine. But when my character is West Germanic-Magistri and I dominate a Mulsa, she gains a veil that I cannot remove in any way.

Wont let me upload an example pic for whatever reason.

I show the book to my sisters in foreign courts and make them spellbound, after I release the keeper, they directly convert to Regula, but I think they should have a secret faith instead, like when Fascinaring a female in foreign court?

I think unremovable veils is a vanilla bug, not sure if they fixed it yet. If those bother you enough that you would be willing to get rid of all veils, you can use the mod attached

No Veil.zip

No Veil.zip 1.45 kB · 1 download

This resolved most of my issues. Still a bit of weirdness in the barbershop, but I think that might be baked into the save, rather than a bug with this mod or CBO.

EDIT: Upon further investigation, it seems there is an issue with the greathelm plumage face item, cant recall the exact name, but the one with the character's CoA and feathers that's supposed to be used with greathelms. Once selected, which happens automatically for certain cultures when the character joins an army, it cannot be removed. The option for 'None' in the face item section of the barbershop disappears.

Thanks,

Yeah, I shun overwriting vanilla effects/modifiers/events/triggers etc etc where possible as the more I edit the more I have to keep track off and the more likely this mod will not be compatible with others.
I think a special all female tourney on sex related things could be cool, but it would be a lot of effort to get it done right imo, would rather focus on the Orgy event instead

True, the only method to create Contubernalis is via the prison interaction, though that itself seems to work well with vanilla features (imprison / abduct / Raid for captives). Scouting targets is a RM feature that makes it pretty easy to get certain characters.
An Orgy intent + event would make sense though, something to note down.

Barbershop stuff is out of my hands I'm afraid, though luckily you have the legendary csirke128 here to help you!

Hmm, not a bad shout, I think a glorious ritual should always "openly" convert, but maybe for a modest ritual I could make it more selective?

I've removed this rule, until I figure out how to nicely make cool portraits for the goddess characters that don't do weird things to other mods.

I've actually done quite a few changes since 4.2.0 on these rules, feel a lot better now

Does anyone know why when I reform my culture I lose all my wives and can no longer have the harem? I was Norse and created a hybrid with Gaelic so that I could be the culture head (there was another Norse leader who formed Scandinavia and conquered a lot of lands on Germany, so it's almost impossible for me to be culture head).

Gaelic culture has the "Concubines" culture tradition be default, which overwrites the religious law of Regula Magistri
When reforming the culture, don't take any sort of marriage cultural traditions, Monogamy, Polygamy or Concubinage.

Maybe I should make an automatic on_action that deletes these automatically when creating/reforming cultures, regardless of the player being culture head or not, it always breaks RM and ruins someone's day
It would make the AI sad though 😖 (eg Gaelic AI characters would lose their concubines)
