Magma57 Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 (edited) So, due to constant random NiNodes CTD's after adding armors, MCO ADXP, OSTIM mods, Comunity Shaders and ... probably way too much things to your mod list, I decided to restart from scratch the whole thing and thoroughly test it. As I'm following this guide, I found a few things that could be more explicit for beginners. I can list these things, so it will be useful if you want to add a few recommandations in your guide. SKSE : NPC AI Process Position Fix - NG: should we check "AI Overaul" ? I suppose yes as we use this mod later. Simple Dual Sheath: We need to manually add "FirstPerson|Player|NPC" for shieldOnBack and "EquipLeft=true" In Simple Dual Sheath.ini. Otherwise, IED won't work as it should later. UI: Modern Wait Menu: - I don't get why we need to install it then replace it with "NORDIC UI - Configurable Sleep Wait Menu". I personally choose to keep Modern Wait Menu, a nordic UI skin even exist for it. NORDIC UI - Miscellaneous Patches: Should we check "experience+ 2.4.1", "extended hotkey system", skyUI Item card fixes Spacing ? This installer gives a lot of options, it could be good to give some guidance. QuickLoot EE: can be replaced by "QuickLoot IE - A QuickLoot EE Fork" which seems a more compatible version, without patches. Again, specific Nordic UI skin exist, we just need to hide the file "LootMenu.swf" in Nordic UI. Wider MCM Menu for SkyUI: can be removed as it's option are already in NORDIC UI - Miscellaneous Patches Edited August 30, 2025 by Magma57
Aylis Posted August 30, 2025 Author Posted August 30, 2025 (edited) Update to 2.9.16 ENB is gone. The community shader are really fast and I noticed no drops below 60 FPS. Too bad that my old screen can't give me more, but with my RTX 3080 the difference was very noticable. Removal of mods that would cause issues with CS, fixed a hidden incompability and removed everything that wasn't imho necessary. Next update will be for OStim and then i'll check out PBR (got almost 60GB testfiles). trgdolors Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 Welcome back, Aylis! Interesting changes here. RASS is gone. Mists got flipped. And obviously ENB -> CS as well as the other things. I assume Better Dynamic Snow is the newer v.3.6.0 rather than the older v.2.11.0 BDS that everyone held onto forever.
KCOLL Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 Regarding ENB vs community shaders. Glad you have seen the light! Gonzo are ENB and Lux and their one million patches!

Yep, otherwise I would have mentioned it. 4 hours ago, KCOLL said: Regarding ENB vs community shaders. Glad you have seen the light! Gonzo are ENB and Lux and their one million patches! Last time i tried it didn't work out. Now it does. 😉 ___________________________________________________ A few interesing things: 1. The bug with the iron ore is gone. The textures are fine and I didn't do anything... ENB error? 2. Candles don't flicker as much as they did before. Also the vanishing flame is gone too. 3. Fire looks imho better now. 4. Nights are great. Darker than before, but the aurora and moons lighten everything up. Btw: Prostitution doesn't conflict with 'Sisterhood of Dibella. Edited August 31, 2025 by Aylis
DarkForce_256 Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 (edited) Looking for help on this. Just finished the Landscape texture portion and starting a new game the mountains look like they are missing textures. When I load a clean modless save outside of Riverwood the game looks perfect. Trying to narrow down which mod is causing the issue is proving difficult. I deactivate mods until its fixed, then adding them back one at a time it comes back while activating different mods each time. Edited August 31, 2025 by DarkForce_256
Aylis Posted August 31, 2025 Author Posted August 31, 2025 @DarkForce_256 1. Big pictures belong into spoilers. 2. Either an error in Dyndolod or Parallax.

Thank you for the help and thank you for the guide. I've been modding Skyrim since it came out and the whole time I've used a collection of mis matched mods. First time putting together something cohesive. Thank you. The mod Skyland Landscapes Complex Parallax has TerrainHelper as a missing master, which isn't on the list of mods to install. Is it safe to ignore?

Is it safe to ignore? Skyland Landscapes Complex Parallax had a change that now requires Terrain Helper. You will have to install it. Missing Masters have to be fixed. And I see that Terrain Helper IS now in the guide under Shaders. You may have to refresh the page to see it. I have been using those two mods together for months and they are good. 2
Aylis Posted September 1, 2025 Author Posted September 1, 2025 (edited) I might end up putting 'Shaders' directly below 'SKSE'. Most(?) of them are scripts and so it doesn't matter much when they get installed. 'Body Search' is iffy. The idea itself isn't bad, but the CTD during the animation is not good. No idea if the error is caused by the animations or a bug in the conversion. PBR is interesting. Quite a few mods have been prepared for it (yesterday i've been downloading ~120 GB mods). But some of the texture packs look way too clean and new. This is really obvious whenn you look at woodpanels or wooden beams. Same goes for furniture. I have to be very careful in my selection. I'll have to completely rework Markarth. Some older mods conflict with the newer ones, others are getting replacements and all are only giving me a headache. Especially when the combinations start to cause glitches all over the place. __________________________________________________ First testrun with PBR resulted in: Holy shit! This is looking way better than I dared to hope for. Those visuals let the guys at Bethesda look like bloody amateurs who just started to code 'Hello world' and have absolutely no idea what they are doing... Edited September 1, 2025 by Aylis 1
Player80 Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Sorry if this has been asked before, is there really a benefit from keeping mods that are completely overwritten? Those have the following mention on your guide: Keep it even if it gets overwritten - There might be mesh issues otherwise. I was looking to use MO2 Conflict Manager once I'm done installing everything but I'm worried about those mesh issues, I guess I'll try using that tool, play for a bit and report back here if I've found any issue. I'm still installing the guide tho (currently at Textures - Objects).
Aylis Posted September 1, 2025 Author Posted September 1, 2025 (edited) @Player80 1. Yes it has... 😉 2. Delete those and you will end up with some broken plants. Also don't forget that they are often used to create packages that will overwrite them. Just take a look in how many mods 'PBR Output' overwrites files: Spoiler Edited September 1, 2025 by Aylis 1
YuFeng Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Forest Fragments - Forest Debris Expansion had an update today. What's new on 2.1.0 ? - Compacted the mod as 7z for better compression and so lighter file size - Compacted the mod under BSA for faster game load - Optimized some meshes and textures - Removed some useless records in the mod - Updated the header to 1.71, meaning you need latest version of the game or BEES - yes I FINALLY fixed the missing mesh in the mod 1
Aylis Posted September 1, 2025 Author Posted September 1, 2025 @YuFeng Thanks, but Quote Do not use Nature of the Wild Lands and this mod at the same time.

Bobintitties Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 Hey Aylis, welcome back! Probably a dumb question, but how save-safe do you think the swap away from ENB would be? Obviously would need to rerun all the DynDOLOD stuff

I have to clean the guide for PBR and quite a few texture mods will be gone or have to be replaced. Just check my post about PBR above yours. Edited September 2, 2025 by Aylis

Hopefully I can update the guide in a day or two. __________________________________________________ Looks like snow is the last issue. I used 'Simplicity of Snow' before to fix it but the mod isn't working with PBR (shader problem). Snow is fixed. Now to the whitepainted objects aka the things BDS is supposed to fix. Fakenet Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 With ENB no longer needed, does that mean that every mot with ENB in it's name should be removed too?
_Warhawk_ Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 (edited) 2 hours ago, Fakenet said: With ENB no longer needed, does that mean that every mot with ENB in it's name should be removed too? Yes. There might be one or two that work with CS but if you look for the already posted update on this page, you will see that most of them were already removed with the change to Community Shaders. Edited September 2, 2025 by _Warhawk_ typo fix
