WTF! Why was that mod removed and the OA banned? Makes no sense as Fjotra was one of the 'safe' mods. And translated versions are still up.

 

Another reason why I do as little as possible on Nexus and won't add my stuff there...

Back to DynDOLOD. Having two versions of the same mod at the same time royally screws the results. 😮

I've finally made it through the whole list, including the two mods to delete as a hotfix, and completed all the post work through DYNOLOD. So I started a new game, with an alternate start that put me near Whiterun. Looking at the Eastern Watchtower, I'm getting 12 to 15 FPS. Moving up the road past Battle-Born farm gets my FPS up into the 20s. Inside the Honningbrew Meadery it's at 60 FPS. Back outside, by the Pelagia Farm, its' back to 12-15 FPS. 

 

I have an NVidia GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU with 8G VRAM. It's being driven at 99-100% with the VRAM completely used.

 

On almost all of the mods I downloaded I did the 2K or 1K textures to try to keep performance good. 

 

I'm wondering if the shaders are the problem, or if it's all the smoke and motion from physics mods, or what else could be causing it.  A large number of shader cache files were generated when I first started the game, so I moved them out of Overwrite into a separate mod. On this most recent start (loading a save from inside the cell) I did get a handful of shader cache files, but not enough to account for the poor FPS all the way from the watchtower to Whiterun.

 

The game looks good, but it's pretty unplayable at these FPS. 

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

wonder if you now are running 2 shader cash's as i have never heard of anyone moving it to a separate mod.  Or heard any recommendation to move it to a separate mod. also  i like to use HDT flex  mod  seems to improve my hdt and make things faster and smother overall

@PubliusNV Try the tried-and-true 50/50 solution. Turn off half your mods, check your framerate, enable/disable them until you think you've got the problem. Probably leave ASLAL on if you're running it to help with troubleshooting. You can try turning the shaders section off first.

That looks like an interesting mod, but it made no difference in my case.

Turning off all the shaders improved the FPS by about 10, i.e. 12-15 to about 25. It also made the game look terrible 🙂

the area around whiterun is the worst for fps in the game! I would be reading about how to improve fps performance guides on nexus. also check out community shaders plugins for additional plugins that change your fsr and scaleing for niveda and amd cards. there is a lot game changing stuff in community shaders that effect everything so adding plugins to it can change flow and performance of game. also make sure you have the plugins you need ticked and if they are there

and most important check out mod author hyruledm for the sexist amour mods in skyrim. lol and they all have spid mods available

deleat shader files in your folder and restat game allowing them to recompute might be worth trying

 

frame generation - community shaders    is the name of the plugin for your graphics card that might improve performance

Having a weird time running TexGen. The HD Grass option is grayed out. I had no trouble generating grass cache, so I'm not sure why it's not seeing it. On ENB there's a setting to enable complex grass in the ini files, but I'm not seeing anything about it for CS. Can someone do me a sanity check and see if they have it working? Always make sure MO2's paths are pointed towards the right thing, kids.

IIRC, it was not greyed out for me. I'm currently re-running DYNDOLOD, so when it finishes I'll go back and check TexGen.

The problem with laptops is the video chip. They cut the performance down a lot to improve the thermals. You can almost say that taking it down one step (aka a socalled '3070' is actually more like a '3060' in reality). What you can try is DLSS or something similar to improve the framerates.

 

Next thing would be to replace everything with Parallax with a standard version. I'm looking into that here to fix the buggy snowy rocks.

This one is a bit tricky to place. Moving the created files into a mod didn't work out for me (or I missed something). Atm I keep them in Overwrite.

I tried installing Skyrim Upscaler and its requirements from Nexus, since it claims to enable DLSS on NVidia RTX chips. But I must have done something wrong because now the game crashes before the main menu. Oh well, I'm running out of time since I'm about to leave for a 5 week trip. I'll have to take another look when I get back in October.

i wonder if by not using overwrite folder if shaders cannot  access it  community shaders writes the shaders to overwrite then when game starts transfers them to a cash in its ini file.  skyrim upscaler is obsolete   community shaders has its own upscale in the plugin called frame generation  its a replacement for upscaler for both niveda and amd graphic cards nice thing it runs automatically
