Goubo Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 Hotkeys are refreshed each reload or when the hotkey is changed in mcm and hotkeys for the QTE are registered at the same time as the bar appears, it's really just because left & right strafe dosen't exist with a pad or because the scene for the escape dosen't start properly. I'm currently trying to add DA support, I need to make further tests. And I need to clean some dialogues from bugs for surrender and good to go. Yay DA support! Planning to hook the after defeat events to the DA event list? Yes defeat will give the infos and DA events will have a chance to trigger, seems to work so far. I will not hook Defeat events to DA, it would make it dependant of it and some do not use it, I just add DA in my system to pick an event so if several events for a particular location/aggressor are found it will pick up one ramdomly. So you can set DA to 100% and no other events will trigger except escape if no quest is successfully triggered by DA.

Currently SD+ already uses DA as a hard dependency. Seems Defeat is next (although in a more indirect way).

crudo Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I've got Defeat running quite well lately but I have run across a few issues. Some have probably been reported already, maybe all, just some info. 1. When defeated by bandits at Valtheim Towers and in the process of getting attacked a surly orc bandit comes running out of the tower door and kills one of my attackers. Next, while my PC is getting raped he attacks me and kills me. I have recently added the OBIS mod so maybe that has something to do with it. 2. The post assault scenario, left in the wilderness. I have Defeat set to steal all my stuff when I lose a battle. Except the weapon, the MCM menu only allows Strip, Unequip and I think SL Framework. Anyway I've had quite a few occasions where not only do I get some of my stuff but I get a whole bunch of extra weapons, armors, potions (I think) added to my inventory. This doesn't happen with the rob or left at inn scenario. 3. The left at inn scenario, after losting and getting assaulted my PC was sent to the inn at Solstheim and I had not visited there yet. While that was interesting the captain at the dock didn't have any dialouge to take me back to Skyrim. I had no way to go home except with the coc console command. 4. I'm not sure there is a solution for this but when my pc is attacked outside, let's say along the road and some harmless bunny or fox happens to run by the bandits (usually) run around like lunatics chasing down the vermin and leaving me in a prone state. That's bad enough but then if another creature gets their attention they go chasing that down too. Really, anything that is a valid target and they go after it. The worst is when there are five of them around and in the middle of the assault they go rabbit hunting. That's about it so far. Working quite well otherwise. I did have one question about the post-assault menu. With the three choices, rob, wilderness, inn you have percentage sliders. Each of them can be set from 0 to 100 I believe. At first I thought it was to be a balance between the three, like 60, 20, 20. After I've used it a bit it seems more like it will take each scenario into account in order and if the chance to work fails it will go to the next. Does it work this way and if so what is the order... not that it really matters, I'm just very curious about the way it works.
Vithiss Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 @crudo I stopped using OBIS a couple of months ago because I'd noticed that bandits, everywhere i went, were busily fighting and killing one another. I'd used it before without issues, never did figure out what caused that, maybe it will help.

If it is set to anything else than 0 all controlls remain disabled even after my character successfully escaped and after the debuff time is safely over (and she is far away from her attackers). All she does is moan when I press Enter for interaction or want to use my weapon. Setting the Debuff to zero prevents this in most cases, but not always. Make sure you don't add the Birds In Skyrim mod, it was great having a lot of birds in the game and gave a lot of life to the wherever you were at but then having every creature and bandit constantly chasing the birds was more than a little annoying so I had to pull that mod.
Ashkandii Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 came across one little thing i've only so far tested it with bandits. it was just a little bug i thought so i re-loaded the save and entered the same player as victim scenario just on a different save every time after the scenario the threshold thing will appear and obviously allow me player to get back up after that is completed it well, it says the last used audio in a loop with bandits non-lethal (friendly) and well my ability to pick up weapons/assess inventory/use objects is no more (i cant do shit) and it happened after every time i attempt to get back up not sure if you can understand the problem here i'm typing this in a fashion that would be easier to hear then read. so, after i get raped i wanna get on mah feet, but i cannot pick up my weapon/access inventory and everyone is friendly and turned happy as hippys. could be mods conflicting but i just gonna address the issue anyway its the bandits from embershard mine only mods i can think that would make this is ImmersiveHUD that's literally my only UI Mod i have (exceeding SkyUI)

Your enemies are supposed to become peaceful until you get a little distance so you have a chance to escape. Fighting and inventory should be disabled during the grace period so that you don't abuse the situation to kill the bandits while they can't fight back. I believe next version will also have a timer, so if you don't run away you will eventually get your controls back and the bandits become hostile again.

I've seen mentions of being stuck after an attack with no way out except for loading a previous save or autosave. I have no idea how to use "strafe". Left or right. I'm on PC, obviously, but I use an Xbox 360 controller to play Skyrim. After an attack I can't do anything. This is new to me. I've only updated Defeat just recently and this has not been an issue till this recent version of Defeat. Basically, I can't use Defeat until I figure out how to use the new version. I've pressed every button to try to continue gameplay after an attack. Is Defeat incompatible with a controller? I do play games with keyboard and mouse, but Skyrim isn't one of them. If this is K/M reliant, I'll have either revert to an older Defeat or substitute I guess. Strafe is a new concept? I have no idea how to use this.

It's uh, a little hard to get the exact timing right on when to use it, but basically when you go down on your knees and if you press one direction or the other eventually you should see a bar. Now just alternate between left and right rapidly to fill the bar and you get another chance. Also, the bar is bugged but I guess that's probably already known. Doesn't remember settings like size and color and will eventually revert to default.

I doubt I am hitting it in perfect order but the sheer amount of clinking more than makes up for it.

Snazzishoez Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but I've made a tiny script change to one of Defeat's scripts that should help those who want to be able to use the Left and Right Attack Buttons for the Resist bar (it works for both keyboard and controller users). It should help tide some people over until Goubo releases the next update. Thank you so much.
