Does anyone have a 1.8 compatible version of this mod? I'm trying to run it with Elder Kings 2 and I suspect the reason it isn't working is because I downloaded the 1.9 version

If you want slave tabs with Better UI Scaling mod, here are files for you

sm_slaves_tab file to overwrite this mod/gui/sm_slaves_tab.gui

window_character file to overwrite better ui scaling/gui/window_character.gui

ps. You will see purple rectangular box in slave tab. I don't know how to remove that.

ps2. If you also use character ui overhaul mod, you will see "Open in a window (G)" checkbox. You can see your slaves in a lot bigger screen there.

Wondering if anyone can help but since the most recent DLC and updates this mod comes up as having an error and cannot load.

I've uninstalled the mod and reinstalled and pulled all other mods, (except Carnalitas obviously), and I still run into the error.

It says "Error or missing run file" and I make sure I have the run file, (unless I'm missing something).

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated as this was a mod I used all the time prior to the latest DLC.

Thanks.

Could you include a screenshot of the error? I've never heard of a "missing run file" error.

Sorry for the delay in responding; work and all...

And I was wrong in the description. It's "The Path in this Mod's Descriptor File is invalid or does not exist."

I'm not sure if I have to do something different like move a file or rename one, but all the other mods I download work fine, (some may be out of date but they run). But ever since the newest version of this mod I get this error now.

Thanks for any and all help.

oh this should be an easy fix, guessing when you open the mod descriptor file it doesn't say "path="C:/Users/*username here*/OneDrive/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings III/mod/Carnalitas Slavery Expansion" but instead something else, I would just replace that line with the above obviously replacing the username with your computer username that is if you are using windows.

You're probably either missing the mod's descriptor file ("Carnalitas Slavery Expansion.mod") or, as the above user mentioned, you have the wrong file path, in which case you should be able to just open the .mod file with a text editor and replace the path with path="mod/Carnalitas Slavery Expansion" and the game should find the file on its own, so long as both the descriptor file and the Carnalitas Slavery Expansion folder are in the mod folder together.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge but the when I check the descriptor file it says all of that, (in the properties) for the files location.

As do the other working mods.

But I guess I'm not sure how to actually open the mod descriptor as trying to open it launches some video file that fails and errors out. (But this happens for all other descriptor files in other mods too).

Or should I be trying to open the file a different way?

Thanks for your assistance and patience.

So this is the specific Carnalitas mod folder that's in the Ck3 "mod" folder.

And this is in the Ck3 "mod" folder but not the actual Carnalitas Slavery Expansion

Should this MOD file be in the sub folder too?

Just curious as all the other mods seem to not work this way.

Thanks for assisting!

It seems like you have the file layout right, confusingly, the "descriptor" file is not the file called descriptor.mod. As a side note you really should enable filename extensions, it really makes everything easier in file explorer imo (it should just be in the "View" menu visible at the top of your screenshot). And in regards to opening .mod files, they're just text files, you can open them with any text editor, I personally use Notepad++, but you should be able to use the text editor of your choice.

So I checked the file in notepad and it seems my pathing is right.

It's just odd how then I'm running into the issue.

Thanks again for taking the time to assist.

Not really sure what it could be other than maybe a onedrive issue, I don't use onedrive myself, but I've seen people on older forum posts say that they had issues with mods installed in onedrive, not sure if that's been fixed yet. Also in case you haven't tried it already just do some basic troubleshooting: remove the mod from your playset, delete the mod, reinstall the mod, and then re-add it to your playset.

Been having some issue with getting the slaves tab to appear. Should the modifications befor the character UI file for the last mod loaded?

Sorry the delay, (work trip), and thank you again for your continued assistance.

I've tried the uninstall reinstall already.

Will have to try the OneDrive one though.

Also might try and just delete everything and start fresh.

Who knows, maybe when it's updated again it'll all be fine too.

I'm having trouble getting the UI to work correctly, but not because I can't get the Slaves tab. I followed the directions given in the first post, modifying the window_character.gui file in my UI mod (Character UI Overhaul) with the information it should need to display the buttons and tabs and all, and it seemed to work and create a slaves tab. However, when I actually go to that tab, the slaves are all in a small box with a scrollbar on the side that doesn't actually scroll, and they can't be clicked on.

I'm not sure if this is a result of me doing something wrong, or if this is an incompatibility with the current game version and I just need to wait for the slaves tab itself to be updated with the next mod update.

The slave tab does not work. I turned off all my mods (Except Carnalitas) to test and there's still no tab. I looked at the tutorial images shown and checked the mod files and I didn't have to change anything because its exactly the same already. Its a shame because there's no other mod that lets you organise slaves as they are difficult to keep track of in the couriers list.

Try to replace the window_character.gui with the one from latest Carnalitas and follow the tutorial, the Slaves tab will appear after you got a slave.

Here‘s my file based on yj421's work.

Don't know how to remove the purple box too, so I just cover it up.

Replace mod/gui/sm_slaves_tab.gui with this one, and modify the gui mod you use/window_character.gui as tutorial.

Hello!

This may not belong here, but I'm posting on this forum because I'm not sure what mod is causing this, and I could find nothing on the changelogs. I updated all my LL mods a while back, and having sex with slaves started to be considered adultery. Sex slaves even become known criminals if they ever happen to get preagnant. I remember it didn't use to be like this, and, for several reasons, I think this is kind of a bummer. Has anyone else noticed this and know what mod made that change? Aside from this and Carnalitas I have only Slavery Reimagined.
