I've got an experimental build I need some people to test.  It's a pretty major rework (for the 4th time this alpha/beta period!) this one is a fair bit different compared to previous versions though, so I'm releasing it as an experimental patch rather than a new beta release. 

 

SexLab_v146_EXPERIMENTAL.zip

 

With sexlab 1.45 beta 1 already installed ( available at http://www.loverslab.com/topic/18708-sexlab-framework-development-beta-1-release-available-04032014/?p=702817 ) just overwrite the existing files with the ones in the patch.

 

Couple notes on the build:

  • If things seem slow to start with an actor, try it a second time, this build caches a lot of information about an actor ahead of time before animation start, so the first time the actor is used will be noticeably slower than any subsequent animation involving that actor. 
     
  • Main feedback I'm looking for out of this build is the perceived "smoothness" of an animation, how quickly and simply an animation goes from stage to stage or during an animation change. 
     
  • I haven't yet intentionally fixed anything people have reported from 1.45 beta, but some of them might have been fixed in this build as a result of the new setup.
     
  • Oh god, why do I keep completely overhauling how animation is handled with every build instead of focusing on the fixes and new stuff I need to get done for 1.50's official release.

Sexlab 146 experimental (loaded same save as for testing alphas and rebuilt it) , sexlab submit, foreplay and undressing enabled. orgasm effect in the end enabled. female on female cum enabled. Girl on girl sex played.

 

It takes about 10 seconds to start sexlab again (evey time with same npc). Actors strip fast and undress animation is only played once then they continue to foreplay almost on instant. Other animations play very nice (transitions are almost instant as well) After final stage sex ends very fast and there is no orgasm effect even though it is enabled in mcm. Sounds are messed up - instead of using sexlab sounds Lydia kept saying "Huh?" every 5 or so seconds while pc was silent. Cum textures are applied. Weapon is now unequipped as intended.

 

Poor Lydia getting banged and creampied over and over again for the good of Loverslab community...

SexLab_v146 new game SL mods active SL_Aroused and SL_Util1 sex started with custom spells. Foreplay, undressing, orgasm effect, cum effect, switched between expressions and lipsync. Male on female consensual and rape both tried dozens of times. 4-5 seconds between spell cast and undress animation starts (They seem to want to undress so close they clip into each other when they do the bend over animation) Subsequent sex scenes with same NPC took aproximately 3-4 seconds. Transitions between stages were good and switching from one animation to another was usually decent but obviously depended somewhat on the animations switching from and too. Mouth on female always closed for any oral animation. Facial expression frozen. No sounds from sex at all and orgasm effect did not play. Cum was applied and faded as appropriate. Had a few instances where aggro'd bandit would redraw weapon after stripping and kept weapon drawn through forplay. Weapon was unequipped again when it switched to normal sex, then bandit immediately drew it again and kept it out remained of sex scene. Rough Behind still has SoS Penis frozen in place behind male.

The Info:

Moveto bed: smooth no hesitation.
Startup Undress (no undress animation used): smooth.
Moveto floor/ground: smooth.
Actions/Movement (up/down, in/out, turning) during acts: really smooth.
Transitions: smooth.
Stand up: smooth, perhaps a bit quick, a stand up animation would fill the gap but not necessary.
Lineup/distance: much better.
All in varying degrees of smoothness, such as swing around my be more smooth or less smooth but always smooth and a nice progressing to the next stage or action.  
 
The progression from start to finish has real life look about it to the extent that animations are limited to their predetermined action and limits.  

The term "Smooth" inclueds: fluid motion, no jitters, movement speed fits the act and also the transition to increased speed is gradual.

I noticed belly, arm and wiggle nuances that really made a difference to the detail of the animations/acts.  

Lip Sync worked really well less the voices.  Facial expressions worked well with the exception of the bottom teeth being out of place.  

Using the "O" hotkey worked so well the transitions from one type of animation to another looks natural as a decision not a keypress.

The List:
 
No Voices available during this testing. (did rebuild, restart, uncheck/check voices, etc)

No Orgasm effect when enabled

Did not us Even Height.

Proformace was way up.

Using ENBoot Vsync, not using ENB graphics.

 

I did an overwrite of 145 with v146 EXPERIMENTAL files and used 145 game save this was not a new game.

The SOS doesn't seem to be working properly.

 

Its not positioned correctly for me, its sideways. 

 

 

 

Caused by the HDT physics on the schlong. If the actor is moved while coming erect the schlong tends to bend. There's a patch on one of the SOS threads to fix it.

 

 

or you can press u while animating; the characters rotate a bit and the schlong repositions.

Uuuuuh oops...

 

Figured out why some expression was making the actor look like somebody in a horror movie screaming after I finally saw it myself. The expression system has been applying them backwards, setting phoneme presets as modifiers and modifier presets as phonemes.

Caused by the HDT physics on the schlong. If the actor is moved while coming erect the schlong tends to bend. There's a patch on one of the SOS threads to fix it.

I'm NOT using any HDT related mods and I ''sometimes'' (randomly) have this problem too both with SexLab v1.39b and with alpha's SexLab v1.44+ with SOS Full Stable or also with SOS latest beta...

SOS uses the Havok engine (what controls how things fly about when you kick them, for example) for motion, just as HDT does for BBP. They work independently but use the same underlying technology, so people have begun using 'HDT' for shorthand. Confusing, no? ;)

Finally... I've been trying to find out why I couldn't start any player scene through Matchmaker since version 1.44. Removing every mod that could affect actors, changing player to vanilla race, disabling ENB effects, disabling ENB framelimiter, removing ENB completely, then starting a new game that is almost completely vanilla (only with the Unofficial Patches, SKSE, SkyUI, and FNIS), nothing helped. Then I regenerated my game inis with the Skyrim Launcher, and that did the trick.

So it was a setting in my Skyrim.ini or SkyrimPrefs.ini that is incompatible with the latest SexLab builds. I've backed up the "faulty" inis, now I'm going to compare them with the current, default ones and change the settings back one by one until I find the culprit.

Cuz sometimes I'm having CTD's too especially when loading a save game or after 1-2 hour of gameplay...

I know its ot but...

Beware all the changes to papyrus section into the skyrim.ini...

There is a lot of suggestions on the internet. At best their effectiveness is doubtful. At worst they are detrimental.

On the bethesda forum they explcity warn about those kind of modiications.

In my experience some time ago i had some issues. A little stuttering in the graphics and, regarding sexlab, i had problema with the lips synch of my pc. Then i reverted back to the default .ini.

Everything solved.

This turned out to be a real nightmare. After returning all ini settings to their previous values, initiating sex through Matchmaker still worked. Only after re-adding ENB it started to break again. I didn't get any consistent results, but everything points to a timing issue, probably various Papyrus threads not executing in the right order.

 

These are my own testing results. Because of the (supposed) nature of the issue, things might be different on other computers and game setups.

 

New game, player is a male Nord. Saved in Riverwood.

Mods used:

- Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn

- Unofficial Patches

- SKSE 1.7.0

- SkyUI 4.1

- FNIS 5.0.2

- SexLab 1.46 experimental

- MatchMaker 6.0

ENB v252, custom configuration, mainly using SSAO and detailed shadows

 

 

An interesting fact: With SexLab 1.46, it's only the first attempt to start sex that sometimes doesn't work. Subsequent tries are always successful. (based on more than 20 observations)

 

With ENB completely removed, first attempt always works.

 

When only using ENB's memory management functions, setting

UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true

and

EnableFPSLimit=false

first attempt still works.

 

When only activating graphics processing

UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false

I'm getting mixed results. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

 

When enabling frame limiter

EnableFPSLimit=true

FPSLimit=35.0

first attempt always fails.

 

 

Successful or not, first attempt always throws a couple of errors in the logs. Aside from that, a successful attempt always shows this message pattern:

For animations, I'm thinking maybe setting it up so there will be 5 separate profile folders, each with a json dump file of position adjustments, cum effects, and and SOS bend settings for each animation, You'll be able to both import a profiles adjustments into your save and export your own to a profile. So people can share/download other peoples alignment profiles and swap between them easily.

So here's a dumb thing I doubt the vast majority of people will ever use but I've spent way too much time today on adding for the next release:

Maybe it's for a few. But for those who reported problems with clipping or distorted faces, this could be a life-saver

New Beta 2 build has all the changes from the 1.46 experimental build, a couple fixes people have reported such as voices not working, as well as other things people have mentioned that weren't actually bugs and just stuff that hadn't been implemented into the build yet.

 

It also adds a new MCM page for customizing the expressions sexlab can use, giving you control over the default ones as well as 5 additional empty expressions you can do whatever with, but will need to be tagged in the Toggle Expressions menu to be used by anything in SexLab. I also have not added the localization strings to the other language files for this menu, so if you're using something other than English, expect the expression editor to be full of "$SSL_" text.

BETA 2 is not working on my main save....im getting error that this mod requires FNIS 5.0+ or my FNIS is not properly installed(i have it installed)....but on new game it works...Too i cant delete strapons...

Caused by the HDT physics on the schlong. If the actor is moved while coming erect the schlong tends to bend. There's a patch on one of the SOS threads to fix it.

Does anyone have a link to this patch?

 

 

Dont use it, that patch replaces a file of sexlab with something from an older version which causes a lot of issues, like twitching characters during scenes etc.

I have same situation here on main save. Didnt try new game but i cant test much like this.

Used small upgrade patch. Not whole beta 2.

Same here. I'm getting the same FNIS error message. For me it's not detecting the Temptress Race. I tried it on old saves & new games with different races, it just doesn't want to work with Temptress. Works great with all the other races though, I'm guessing because that race doesn't install into the usual "Actors/Character folders. It just falls into the Data/Textures & Meshes folders. Hope you can get it working for that race too. That'd be awesome. And great work on this mod. Going back to 1.39 for now though.
