As I dig into this one (and pick up the last pieces of v1.24c), I have to ask:

Is it possible to implement a setting that makes the PC's errant thoughts appear as upper-left-hand-corner messages instead of subtitles?  I play with dialogue subtitles on, but all other subtitles off (I want immersion: if I can't hear the raiders or the ferals, I shouldn't be allowed to know they're there).

Hello! I am having trouble with the this mod not updating from previous versions. I have tried clean saves and even tried a new game, however, regardless of having the 1.25 version it never updates from 1.23 version.

First, try doing the "Reset Mod" under the Debug under MCM

 

If that doesn't work, please type Help SD_FVersion 3 and let me know what the Global value is.  Resetting should reset the version number.

 

I just realized I stopped using the MCM for versioning, because of a weird float issue.

That's odd.  They are set to show up as "Dialogue" as they generate lip files to act as if they are being said.  Let me see if switching off the "Say In Player Head" and see if that makes a difference.

 

I'll give this a look tonight :)

Hi Bedillia, thank you that is a minor bug i just uncovered.  It should only reset the base values not the current damage.  I'll fix that issue tonight.

The installation instructions as detailed below still apply right? 

 

Installation/Upgrade:

  • I do not have the FOMOD ready for this version, so I've versioned the compressed file for now.
  • Once you enable in your load order, the MCM will perform functions to attempt cleaning.
  • Once you get the message to Save and Reload, do a hard save at console ~Console-> save "<Insert Meaningful Save Name>" this allows you to set a good restore point.  Then Exit the game entirely.
  • To ensure every thing worked, do the following:
    • in console sqv SD_MainFramework to see if you see it is running.
  • If you need to reset, that's okay as well.  Do the same procedure after the reset, save exit reload the game.
  • If you don't see things working properly follow these steps:
    • save the game,
    • exit,
    • unload it from your mod loader,
    • open game
    • wait about 30 to 40 seconds for the loader to tag all the in-memory references as removed
    • save the game
    • Load it into your mod loader.
    • Reload game.

If you don't see an "Upgrade Message", the first thing to try is "Reset mod"  

I believe I've fixed the issue on upgrading.  Its a weird thing with how it compares the float number from MCM to the Global Vars.

Okay, a couple of things to be fixed today:

 

1) I've fixed the resetting of your attributes.  That was legacy code to fix my mistakes in 1.22 (Sorry I shall remove) @bedellia

2) I am working towards a fix for GeneralSubtitles, however, the CK has a bug with forcing them.  I will work through a solution to fix this in the next version I hope.  I added these as player dialogue, so they shouldn't show up as General, so I will investigate other methods.  The reason I didn't use Debug.Notifications is that they don't stay very long, and if you have other mods using that, you can easily miss the topic.  @VenomousOuroboros

3) Resetting and updating should now be fixed.  I changed the logic.  @pennylessomally

 

I'll release the patch here shortly, and I'm sure I didn't break anything :)

Not to nag, but I have to say I've exhausted myself on Hint #1 for this release!  I found the other three, but that one... it's rough.  I'm thinking "Is it by Cricket, when she's posted up outside Diamond City?  No... is it something to do with some British character?  Whitechapel Charlie?  No... who thinks Diamond City is worthless?  Where are some folks not welcome?  Damnit!"

 

Meanwhile, the moment that I saw that the note for 1.24c had nothing to do with the Asylum, nor the siren tower right next to it (Lynn Woods), I was kicking myself so hard for not catching on to the name you were referencing!

Okay, I have to admit I am really stupid I guess. Maybe it is my old age. I just cleaned out Pittman Gallery. I don't know if that is the gallery that is 

mentioned in the clue but it is the only gallery I can think of. I went up all three floors and then down in the basement to save Pittman.  So, I

must be in the wrong gallery. Two questions. Am I in the wrong gallery?   Do you have to keep getting the updates to follow the clues?
(Hopefully, I will figure out the first one soon)

No, but I will try that. I am using an Alternate Start because I have done the main quest line too many times. Looking for something
new and this sounds great. Thanks for the reply.

Okay, now that @EgoBallistic explained his logic on Sex Attributes Slut, I will fix that.  Thank you!

 

Also, I am adding in Sex Education by @spicydoritos in the next release to track consensual sex, to reduce trauma, sanity, depression, and grief.  This will be a softish requirement, but is highly recommended because it integrates with SA, like AAF Violate, and it's a small mod that causes no overhead.

FYI. I may remove this mod from this site.  I'm a bit agitated by the ruling class of this forum.  Which is why it took me over 10 years to feel comfortable posting my ideas here.  I don't every protest to know everything, but I spend a great deal of time researching what I post.  Now I don't feel comfortable any longer.

 

I'm not a follower.  Being a follower destroyed my life.

Just stay here.  I just installed 1.25t (first time I've installed your mod)  - so far no issues - got caught up in a fire fight in the subway during the Nick Valentine quest (lost got raped which reduced my Nora's sanity a bit)

That's good! That's what supposed to happen.  I need to add the Sex Attributes issues to make that more dramatic.

Thank you @Celedhring  I just don't want my mod being governed by others.

I apologize, not one of my most brilliant nights.  I guess I am supremely upset that if you don't follow the "cool kids" and their ways, you get sidelined.  It was suggested today that a) I don't know what the bloody hell I'm talking about in a realm I've been in since the release of Skyrim, b) that I shouldn't do certain things with "my" mod because it may cause issues for others, and c) I should bow to some elitist class on Lover's Lab.  I will not.  I also won't justify my abilities, that I give to the community for free.

 

I make mistakes, I try to fix them as fast as possible.  I listen to all of you.  So tonight was very disheartening because I really worked a lot of hours trying to get SF good.  Yes there was signficant adversity to me suggesting I will override other mods.  If I am introducing Multiple Personalities, won't every personality have the ability to ignore the settings?  Should they not?  Or do you just want them to do what you want?  I assume you are playing my mod because you're sick of the Fetch Quest mentality.  I don't make you fetch the books. I make you follow the story.  This is why there are no quest markers.  No, I don't expect you to figure my clues out immediately. What is the fun in that?  I've heard from many of you, and I can tell you are delighted you can't immediately look at your pipboy, or hit a hot key, to engage.  This is to make you think.

 

So I apologize if I have misrepresented this mod.  But tonight, I did not need.  And it was none of you. I'm just expressing my agitation that I do this for the love of the game, not to compete, not to be adored, and certainly not to be admonished for deviating from the "rules".

It's your mod. Do whatever you want with the mod.  No one owns your ideas, your mod.   No one's pointing a gun to anyone else's head to download and install your mod, after all, and as far as I can see it works just fine with all the other mods in my load order with no conflicts that I can see. 

And introducing mental trauma in Fallout 4 is something else..it expands characters in a three dimensional way as the player realize characters' minds can get royally fucked up in a post apocalyptic world.

Hi, Sthan :) Thanks for sharing your very cool mod. In your instructions for version 1.25t you say we need to go into MCM debug/reset mod to reset it but that it'll keep the character values unchanged.

 

However, If I do that (upgrading from 1.25s to 1.25t then resetting the mod) my stats change from:

 

Sanity: -88.15

Stress: 59.59

Alignment: 0.00

Average Sleep: 12.00

Depression: 2.71

Grief: 0.00

 

to:

 

Sanity: 11.85

Stress: 0.00

Alignment: 0.00

Average Sleep: 12.00

Depression: 10.00

Grief: 10.00

 

That's a lot of lost insanity. Is that intended? I restored an older save game to get the insanity back, but I am just checking with you whether it's deliberate that we lose our progress so much :) Thanks.
