No matter what, I'll have to study the issue more deeply. And I just wanted to play the game). I took the graphics build, the 18+ build, and the AAF Nuka Ride mod. Naive, I thought I'd quickly combine them and play)

I was in that Nora camp initially, because it spent no time getting right into fucking :) and Norita was a slow burner, but that Norita pre-war stuff is like crack, I can't smoke enough of it and now I am like "who's Nora?"  The tenderness/affection of OB has grown on me with Norita as well, where he is kind of a dick with Nora.  I know you said something to the effect of "Nora is not my character", and I am realizing that your trying to keep her within the Bethesda lore (i.e. she's a lawyer, kid was kidnapped, husband killed) and that's why she is a bit more constrained.

YMMV = your mileage may vary, it's way of saying you might not see the same thing I do.

Precombines = are kind of what they sound like, the game is made up of millions of small 3D models (meshes or NIFs), precombines combines the smaller models into bigger models.  like the ground, sky, walls, etc are often precombines.  I don't know what rules the engine decides to do it (but it is done by the plugin author in creation kit), but the reason it is done is rendering millions of 3D models is a lot slower than one big model.  Precombines will also deal with parts of the model that are not visible (as I understand it) so eliminating unnecessary draws/renders for things that won't be visible.  Facegen is also a form of precombines, but it takes all the face part models and merges them into a single model (so the whole head with hair).  So if precombines were generated and they are winning over Nuka Ride's then that might explain why you see stuff from the base game bleeding through as well.

 

PRP has been cited as a problem before, usually it's cited for crashing.  PRP however does use archive files, and that's where I am not sure which archive file wins -- I would think load order dictates that but that is an assumption on my part.

 

Precombines won't take a million models all over place and combine them, there are rules (I don't know what they are) and one of them clearly is meshes are placed adjacently, and there is probably some limit to how much it will precombine (either # of meshes or distance or something).

I think there has been enough bugs found that I will start playing tomorrow, Thanks @JB. @Axary for all you do/have done!

I have one more question I hope won't upset you, My last playthrough had very few stockings with the outfits, was this intended or did I not pick the right selection in body slide?

Good question. I have that in my load order, but the esp is missing a master, so I didn't mess with it and left it off. 🤷‍♀️

 

Kinda looks like some sort of creation club thing and I normally avoid that stuff.

Yeah it's a patch for a Creation Club content installed with Next-Gen.  I don't recall what it fixes, I am using NG and I don't have it.  I am not even sure what the CC content is in that one but I think it's used in the Enclave CC content as well, recall seeing a weapon called Tesla Cannon but I like my Gauss Rifle.

Hey @JB., great job on the new release! I was able to get to the end without any major bugs...Well, I jumped into the pool without taking the swimsuit ( I was wearing the Adolf outfit, I think) to see if any ghosts would appear like the janitor said and at some point my outfit unequipped by itself for a few seconds and requipped...so dunno if that was planned or Bugthesda doing it's thing, lol! Anyway, had a good time and loved how you implemented the lips and skin things as well as the new characters. Peach is elite, so is Cherry. Cupcake world's new characters are amazing as well...great reveal about Gio's last name! I had a lot more fun throwing the ball around than I expected, lol! I did get stuck trying to find the radio jammers so I cheated and found the answer from here...I think you could give some clues like maybe you can ask Deshawn what to look for and he could give some vague/funny hints like "it can't be on too high up because usually people who hate the strip club are too pussy to climb the tower and are afraid of heights!!!" (Because I was literally expecting it to be something on top of the tower because the pin was high...I literally was looking through Grandpa's scope thinking I would have to snipe it from the ground)

I also got stuck on the dialogue after throwing the ball at the dad's friends a couple of times. I saw that some others had that bug and was able to fix it by bringing the 3 companions with them. But for me they were already there...but it worked randomly one time and I guess the only difference was that this time I heard the neighbor lady saying "you got my ball back" or something...I had been bypassing her and throwing from the other side...I don't know if that's related.


Anyway, dunno if this has been answered before but... with this is 6.9 complete? If I'm not wrong you've already added the 3 quests you said you wanted to add to 6.9 (and more) in your patreon post. So when  you finish CS and come back to NR will you be working on 7.0 or is there something left in 6.9 still?

I'm so with you on this, I'm super excited to get to the new stuff, but I've got family over tomorrow thorough Sunday at least, so I'm playing late tonight.  While I agree I love the Norita stuff I'm also so excited to see what JB. has coming for us with Nora, because there is an even slower burn there where the OB is slowly realizing Nora is important somehow too.  He just doesn't want to admit it.

I can include them in that scene you mention, but since there is no tattoo shop, you won't be able to remove them. Or if you change your character's preset, those piercings will disappear and you won't be able to put them back until there is a tattoo shop.

 Question about the Music's services on Norita's route: at which point are you supposed to be able to receive limited services before getting her tattoo kit? For me right now (right before the Abernathy farm quest) there's only 2 options: a question about services and goodbye.

 Also not sure if it's some conflict but in Music's store there's a missing ceiling in the bathroom

Finish Lucy's quest and then go to her shop. She will say something like, “That was an incredible adventure, wasn't it?”, and that will unlock her services.

 

I probably forgot about the roof. 😓

Thanks. I'm glad you found the time to finish it, but I'm seriously thinking that I've bimboficated some users, man, how could you not notice the huge C4 stuck to the pylon? 😭🤣

 

6.9 is complete. I couldn't do Far Harbor and the defeat of Doberman. But we'll leave that for the future. 

 

7.0 is Nora. It just bugs me to read “Update only for Norita? Pass.” Is this supposed to motivate me or something? One more and I'm going to start hating Nora.

Most likely, I overrode the buttplug code when writing new code... 😓

 

I downloaded a Russian version of my mod in version 6.6 to recover the deleted code. The buttplug code is quite complicated.

how long has it been broken?  I thought it worked in 6.9, just not now in 6.9.1.  Anyway, happy to help, I'll keep playing this weekend when I can. 

 

I must say I'm very excited for both paths!!!  I love them both, and this is from someone who started playing NR when Charon was still on the bridge outside Sanctuary and the whole mod was only Nora for about 4 quests.  I think it might have had just The Motorcycle for quests.  The way your skill at storytelling & mod making has progressed through Nora, then CS, and now Norita & Nora together has been just awesome to see.  So I'm excited with how good Norita is.  I'm not done yet, but I know that what was just added will be even better than then last part, and Nora will be better with whatever comes next too!  Thank you for all the hard work over the years!!!

Unless it is a massive mod with a lot of conflicts, in which case a script is definitely the way to go, I just patch manually. I very rarely merge in FO4, to be honest. I mean, there's small amount of records merging when patching, but it's not like merging entire plugins. Yeah, it's a bit tedious, but it's part of the process!

I seem to recall that the names presented by the overboss in the rooftop scene (fireworks, generators, caps manager?) have effects, or a few of them do... is there a list somewhere explaining these? Or am I wrong and SnowBunny is the only one?

Looking at JB's comments on yours:

- Interior NavCut Fix - I assumed is included in Buffout 4 NG (and I think that is right), but sometimes words are hard to understand.

- I use UAP, so I don't have Leito staged

- I also don't have a few of the ones noted as missing which I assume is his loadout.

- I use FO4 Photo Mode, because well I never went looking for SAM hard enough (I think it's another Discord only mod?)  otherwise most (not all) I do have.

 

I can also throw out the High FPS Fix settings & X-Cell settings if it's useful.  But High FPS is basically:

DisableBlackLoadingScreens=true

DisableAnimationOnLoadingScreens=true

InGameFPS=59.995

 

And X-Cell settings is really disabling Buffout 4 NG's settings for memory management recommended on their mod page, because X-Cell supposedly has better functions.

 

Should be noted that I am using Simple FO4 Downgrader (which is why I have the later version of UFO4P & CFM).

 

I have UAP on my personal modlist since I have it set up where my MO2 profile has all the dependents for a lot of the AAF quest mods are always enabled in a correct load order. All I have to do to switch from playing NR to CS is disable NR and enable CS. Some mods I have are holdovers from creating my AAF profile by copying my main SFW modlist and removing all the gameplay mods.

 

Some mods like Pip-Pad are interchangeable, they have the same purpose of removing the PipBoy from the player model.

 

I may upload my .ini files for a lot of mods like X-Cell, High FPS Physics Fix, Buffout 4, etc.

 

As for game files I manually downgraded using the Steam console. I had to find an archived version of UFO4P because Arthmoor has shit opinions on archiving. I may also upload that if the guide ends up being so in-depth. Since my end-goal is effectively to create a step-by-step guide that's as detailed as The Midnight Ride.

 

@JB. Do you have anything like Microsoft Office or LibreOffice? I want to use that and then convert it into a .pdf instead of using notepad, since I can change the text colour, font, and text size.

 

Just lastly I'd still like to include mods that aren't strictly required but are still helpful. Better Console is an example of that. Basically having a mod list that provides the best experience possible. I can colour code which mods are essential, which are recommended, and which are not required.

In my Nora Play through I gave her the back story of her and Nate being hardcore swingers Shaun may not even be Nates that way she can go all out 😃

this is a little off topic, but since we are discussing efficient and stable load order of patches, fixes and the like do any of you know a way to completely remove the bethesda movie at the start of a new game?   I have tried numerous ways to skip it, but I get like 5 fps during the loading of that movie.   Once I get past it everything runs fine.   Its one of 2 things - either the pip-pad pop up is causing an issue with the initial load, or AMD drivers strike again.   I am leaning towards AMD or some base game setting as it has issues with no mods enabled.   It is the only time I ever had this kind of issue were the game is barely running, and only during the part between accepting the new game and the scene in the bathroom to create the character..... 

 

edit: It is not Pip-Pad.   I copied the profile and removed all of that and its still borked at 5 fps or less

If you go into the Fallout 4 folder you can find a folder called Videos, delete the intro video there.

ok found the issue - it was with the High FPS Physics fix - I reinstalled it to latest version for 163 and disabled the the part that was using only 1 processor to run the opening scene.....I am using a 9800x3d cpu along with a 9070xt hellhound.   Now I am getting 350 fps during menus and intro scenes as expected.   Idiot moment....one setting to destroy them all that is on by default.....

also, the UFO4P patch version 2.15 on the nexus is for the GOG version which by default is the 163 pre NG version.   I have used it for a long time and have never had any issues.   It was released in 2024 so its pretty up to date and does not have CC content involved for those that downgraded and removed the CC content.   Unless I am just oblivious to issues that it has of course.

But hear me out...tell me if this has ever happened to you....a friend points out like a bird or something on a tree or a pole and you just can't find it no matter how hard you look! ...and you're both getting frustrated because your friend is like "Dude! It's like bright red, how can you not see it!!" And now you're getting pissed because there's literally nothing close to red on that tree and after an uncomfortably long amount of time,

...and you realize you were looking at the wrong tree the whole time!!!

 

That's pretty much what happened. I mean, the marker was in the middle of the tower and I'm standing at it and I'm looking as hard as I can at the inside legs of the tower because that's where I expect it to be and of course I don't find it because it's on the outside legs, lol! Then I'm like maybe since the marker is a bit above the ground, is it on top of the tower? So then I equip Grandpa's rifle and examine the top of the tower through the scope...on the inside again! I never even thought to look outside lmao!

Yeah, that's exactly why I was asking. Infact when Doberman showed up I was confused for a second because I thought we had already defeated him. Then I realized that it was on the Nora route...

Haha, I'd say just ignore those as long as it isn't too entitled or anything...but frankly, it's bound to keep happening as long as that route is popular.

I solved my problem. It was because I had a NR swimsuit in my inventory, but there was no actual swimsuit, as I never installed the mod. So it probably could not apply a texture to it.

You should try using the strapon recommended by the F Manual. as it works with everything, includimg torture devices animations.

I noticed the one you use does not work on X-crosses etc. I used it for a while and then switched back to the F Manual one.
