It's the single  couch Maxson isn't sitting on. When you sit down, the cutscene starts. But Isabella should be in the garden (she sits on the arm of that chair). I'd reload a save when I enter the garden and make sure Isabella is there.

I know that, I sit there, then he starts telling me about a very important matter but after that, I have no dialogue options, he is to far away to start a conversation and if I get up, he tells me to sit down again. Talking to Isabella doesn't do anything either

Does it always happen?

 

And don't you get the dialogue if you point at Maxson's face?

 

That dialogue has a maximum distance of 20,000 units. In your image, the distance is at least 500 units.

 

If it got stuck, you should reload the save and try again.

I tried it about 5 times, always happens. I did point at his face, no dialogue box comes up. I am only using this mod and it's requirements

Try this as a test stay sitting. Open the console click on him and type - moveto player press enter and close the console look at him and see if the dialogue pops up

I tried again from an even older save, it still doesn't work unforunately. You got a console command to skip this dialogue?

Well I just tried something similar, I aggroed him, put my weapon down, then sat in his place to force him to sit in the middle. It didn't work either

So it shows his name with the talk prompt but you can't activate it? It's bugged. Have you tried restarting the game?

Well after I forced him to sit in the middle. Normally just nothing happens after his initial dialogue. When He sits in the middle I can talk to him but he just tells me to sit down. Restarted the game multiple times

If you throw the save at me I can give it a test. Kinda free right now. 

Maybe not the exact same setup but maybe it can work on mine, or not.

Because I don't remember this part too well.

Thanks for your help! Save 23 is before talking to Isabella, 24 is with Isabella already sitting but before I sat down and started the dialogue

So I ran the latest save (in the garden) and Maxson said these two dialogues but the dialogue choice didn't appear, and he's indeed too far for me to target. I was able to target him only after zooming out all the way and he does repeat the have a seat phrase. even if I'm already seated.  

I'll try to run the previous now. 

 

Same thing with the second save. Talked to Isabella, followed her out to the same scene. Maybe we wait for JB to try it, but no idea since I've made it to the end of the content. (I'm on 6.9.1d)

I've had this issue for a bit, not sure if anyone else has seen, but figured I'd report it since I remembered to grab a pic. During the quest Training Day when I go upstairs to grab beers for the guys, I grab the beers, get the black screen where you teleport the OB, Patti & Dallas upstairs.  All good except the OB spawns behind the door.  I can talk to him, but the door never opens, so it looks funny of course.  If I console him & 'moveto player' him into the hallway, he leans against the door as he should.  Not game breaking but I figured I'd report it.

Yes. I have the same problem. I can't figure out what's wrong. This didn't happen on 6.9.0.

This had been reported to me, but I couldn't reproduce it. Are you two using the Nuka World Patch? This is the "vanilla" version. 👇🏼Looks fine.

I had a similar thing after saving maxon from doberman. The OB was not there however his dialogue continued. It happened on the one save but the not the other. Might be random.

BTW, in the "fight" against Maxson, did the song play throughout the fight or did it end as soon as it started?
