AAF Nuka Ride: A Porn Studio Mod

So I ran into a bug. When doing the Mule run for Nisha on the Norita side;

Talking to Solomon doesn't update the quest from 'Meet with the DC contact', it teleports Norita into his house, Sophie is teleported outside of the 'play area' (basically behind the door). If you tcl to talk to her, all goes (assumingly) as 'scripted', but the door back to DC remains locked; And you can never hand the 'package' to Solomon (if you pick the lock to get out), because the first 'Meet with the DC contact' never updated.

(This happens in Nora route to Solomon and can even happen in base game on occasion - but due to the addition in Night Fever has happened a bit more frequently for me in Norita route) his door is like a Bermuda triangle for companions 😅

 

If you're still stuck, the best way to get through this part til it's fixed up when this happens is to

 

option 1: open the console and select Sophie (I do this as we enter DC before talking to Solomon just in case so you may need to go back a save, or you may be able to do it through the door if you stand in that spot to the right of the door if you're facing it, she kinda peeks out from time to time there) and then do moveto player once in the house

 

option 2: sit on the couch and "wait" an hour, sometimes you have to do it a few times.  She should eventually appear in the house or sitting next to you, and should complete from there but in survival this may be a more challenging option

 

It's because if you just do TCL to talk to her, it doesn't register her as being in the house with you, you don't get the key from her - she gotta be in the house itself 🖤

Lovely. I think the whole problem could be solved if there was no teleporting happening at all. Have him give the key to Sophie, have the player follow her into, and out of, the house with her unlocking the door for the player. 

 

Either that, or just make him less of a douche on the Norita run. As I've never has that happen on the Nora run. That way teleporting doesn't need to take place at all. I mean, for a "drugged out hippy", he certainly don't fit the profile of being such a douche in the first place.

 

But thanks for the info about all that. I did make a hard save before even talking to him, because DC loves to crash the game on me, so I save often in that area.

It is like slavers (which I will not lie, I hella skipped through except for the story) in that it is darker. Def not as fun and light as Norita. I think JB mentioned cutscenes too as well as challenges of trying to convert.

 

It is unlike slavers (spoiler alert) in that, the stuff always *almost* happens.

 

Slavers is probs about as close to reality as a post apocalyptic world would be in my mind.

 

Maybe if I win that lottery. 🤣

Well, count yourself lucky already for being able to make a working mod.

I can't even manage to make a simple edit to an armor mod, to make it compatible with 'Legendary Crafting', while following the step by step instructions posted on that mod's page.

I don't have a working mod. I couldn't get the tutorial to work.

 

All I have is stories...of questionable quality. 🤣🤷‍♀️

Well, I tried both those ways. That did get Sophie into the house; But I never get the package, or the key to leave. It just gets stuck on the aforementioned 'Meet the DC contact' objective. Even if Sophie is in the house and I talk to her, it all goes as it should until just after the AAF scene. Then Sophie just started repeating the "I'm surprised at how many times your ass has gotten us into trouble" line.

 

In my frustration, I consoled the door open, and opened fire on the entirety of DC. All but Nat, McDunna, Shane Kawalski, and Dr. Sun, died in a hail of 'Automatic Handmade Rifle' fire. When I tried to reload the game even DC didn't want to fully load, as most of the building assets where missing. I guess this is where I start a new game, as I fucked up that town so bad, it caused the engine to royally start breaking down the entire town.

But, I just fixed it in my patch by removing the navmesh that's outside the playable area. Which is what causes that.

Bugthesda is REALLY bad at proper navmeshing. They don't even head their own warning to NOT use the auto navmesh tool. That thing causes such a mess and a massive addition to the game size.

 

Your useless tid bit of info for the day:

NPC's will only spawn on valid navmesh. Don't like Brahaum & settlers on roofs, remove the navemesh.

You don't leave. You have a conversation with Sophie, she remove the drugs and you're teleported outside.

It really sounds like you have some serious script lag.

Attach one of your papyrus logs. If it's over 2 Mb, and you're not importing settlements or have played for hours, then you probably have a script lag issue.

Well, that doesn't happen either. As I said, I get the first convo with the "lets steal an ashtray", and the AAF scene, then she just starts saying the "I'm surprised at how many times your ass has gotten us into trouble" line, over and over when I try to talk to her. Nothing else happens.

 

I think the base of my problem is the quest gets stuck on the 'Meet the DC contact'. It never updates after that. Much like what happens in the vanilla 'Imogene finds a lover' quest. Which never spawns Imogene in the 'Neighbor cult's back room'. And I can only get past that quest with console stage stepping, and forcibly spawning her.

Just today I was cleaning up some navmeshes to test how much I could reduce the size of the plugin, after what you told me about how you reduced the size of a Thuggy mod.

 

And among some interiors, I found that the navmesh of Solomon's house is very badly done 😮 I guess they didn't devote any attention to it because there is nothing happening there in the base game. There were navmeshes outside the interior.

 

I cleaned it up today and after some other cells, I reduced the triangles in the Square a bit more and in total the plugin went down 1 meg.

I see. At the end of the scene, AAF change from stage 27 to stage 28. That stage gives you the key and updates the objective.

 

Set the stage manually:

 

SetStage _NukaRide_Apollo 28

 

Every time you load a save, you should see a small message that says “Nuka Ride is ready!”. If that message does not come up, it is because the quest that manages AAF is truncated. That's the only thing I can think of as to why your AAF is not automatically advancing the stage at the end of the scene.

Regardless, that door is frigging cursed and your patch fixing this navmesh issue makes you a hero 🖤but I do actually think it's the Nora route that teleports you after the package is removed, and then in the Norita route Sophie removes the package and you get a notification of getting the key that lets you unlock the door and it goes from red to white for the indication that it's not "lockpicking" anymore?  Though I'm absolutely questioning myself right now 😅

Hey for the life of me I can't get my toon to remove clothes during sex or pole dancing scenes, and sex scenes with Sophie are also clothed. Not sure what I did but AAF works but no clothes come off.  During sex outside of staged scenes in can remove them manually but nothing other than that.

Do you have UAP installed?

Do you have AAF Themes installed?

Yeah, that message does come up. So I have no clue what could be going on.

But then again, I have always been cursed to see the worst of the worst bugs in games. No matter how 'bug free' a game might be, I always seem to stumble onto the rarest of the rare. Thanks for the quest stage though. It might as least be salvageable now.

Okay so I can set the stage like that. But then Solomon never registers Norita for the NR dialogue. He just goes into the normal 'Shop keeper' vanilla dialogue. First he pulls in, then when I break out of that and manually talk to him, he goes into the same vanilla "You look like you need a prescription filled" shop dialogue.

 

Good lord this bug is pissing me off. I shot him again then quit out to write this.

And yes I know, shooting him it's going to fix it. But that douche deserves it for giving me so much trouble.

I would like to know what stage you have

 

Do you have another instance of Nuka Ride, any personal patches? A problematic example is usually when people make those Complex Item Sorter style automatic patches, or when they make those bashed patches. Those types of patches have old Nuka Ride instances hosted in them that cause the game to not recognize the new content.

 

But it sounds like there is another instance of Nuka Ride or a personal patch or a load order problem.

I actually nailed down what was going on. It was never properly completing quest stage _NukaRide_Apollo 25.

When I started quest stepping from there by:

'setobjectivecompleted _NukaRide_Apollo 25 1' then 

'Setstage _NukaRide_Apollo 26/27'  

Both Sophie teleported into Solomon's house properly; And the quest progressed as it should. The 'Say goodbye to Solomon' popped up naturally, I was able to have the convo with him, and am now at 'Talk to Sophie' in the DC market.

 

Also to answer your questions:

No, I don't have any personal patches. I can never get them to work.

No, I only have the latest version of NR installed and the patches that are required via it's install instructions.

And I have my load order sorted by Loot with Vortex. (Yeah, I know it's not the best MM but it works for me)

@reflum001@savantladylilith I really liked the chicken quest idea so I am really glad JB liked it too and I am looking forward to seeing it in a future. I think, since JB has shown interest in your idea, rather than CK the thing you would have to learn is probably blender or some other 3d modelling software if you want to get a chicken asset that looks like the picture. Or you could probably pay someone to do it because if you thought CK was hard, 3d modelling is a whole different beast!

Anyway, after seeing all your Nuka Ride add-on wishlist ideas...I've been feeling kind of bold and also wanted to share a couple of them...Although, I've had an almost 2 year break from playing fallout 4, I've been keeping my eye on this forum, and I've recently decided it was finally time to give the Nortia route a proper chance. Got to say, I didn't doubt JBs story telling ability, so I wasn't surprised how good it was and honestly loved all the ways that the Nora route quests were adapted for this route. Haven't finished playing it though but despite how good it was, I'm a Nora route fanboy for life! Sorry, @JB.! I mean, listen, I'm sure it's gonna be hard for me to play the Nora route after experiencing the polish of the Norita route, unless you've been polishing the Nora route side by side....but Idk...these two routes are like 2 completely different genres....like the Nora route is a dark comedy while the Norita route is like an action rom-com. An d you're gonna have genre preferences...that's j  

 

Anyway, so my first add-on mod idea was to just have one of those dildos on Nora's dresser and activating it should open up a dialogue box which allows your Nora/Norita to masturbate.

The basic idea is the same as Patti's training chair at the seven bar...so you should be able to activate anal, oral, vaginal masturbation scenes. I thought about just duplicating the 7 bar chair at the apartment but then it'd probably take up too much space and beside with a dildo, I'm guessing there's probably a lot more variety of anims that we can play by filtering for the right tags. Anyway, we could have Patti or Dallas leave the dildo on her dresser with a note asking her to keep practicing, otherwise her skills would get rusty. Not that the idea so far is easy to implement but I think this is where this fictional mod gets tricky...I just found it a shame that we trained out guts, innuendo, diligence and anal and oral skills so diligently before the audition but that framework has been sort of discarded after. I want to make it so that Nora/Noritas skills deteriorate slowly over time and all sex scenes after the audition, be it for the porn studio or anywhere else would check for those values and maybe if your score is from...say 50 to 75 its considered good, if its above that excellent and if it is below 50...it just sucked. So if I was giving OB anal or something and my anal skill is between 50-75, he might comment that you need to train your ass more....if it was below 50, he might get pissed how much you're slacking off and give you some punishment like some light whipping or taking away some accessory or gift he had given previously. If its above 75...well, you know OB, he might not even comment on it...but if this was happening with someone else like maybe Larsen or Maxon or something, they might praise her for being so damn amazing. Similarly in the studio, Charlotte or Corsican might be disappointed with your performance and only pay you half your amount and demand to do the scene again properly to get paid the full amount if whatever skill that was needed for the scene was below 50. Of course this shouldn't obstruct the flow of the story, its only an incentive to train that skill and replay that scene to get the full amount you're owed. Maybe if your skill scores are above 75, they're so happy, they throw in a bonus. Anyway, I know at least the first part is possible but just thinking about the second part both excites me and scares me, loI! I'm sure it will be pretty difficult and tedious and probably never to see the light of day.

 

I had some other ideas as well...but I guess I'm just exhausted after that braindump and i'm also increasingly realizing how outlandish the scope for those ideas are, that its almost too embarrassing to talk about. Like for instance, one idea was telephones. There's already a telephone asset in-game so I was thinking we could make use of that for Norita/Nora to call her girlfriends...or boyfriends. You know gossiping with Sophie, cracking jokes with Music, advising sister dear, phone sex with Larsen....the possibilites are endless. But the sheer amount of dialogue you'd have to write for it to feel as great as it sounds in my brain also would be endless, haha! 

 

Also this is a shameless request to JB rather than a mod idea that I had...bro, please find a way to let me hug the sister after the talk about Maxon in the kitchen. She is so fucking dumb to fall for Maxon and I had to be a bit stern with her but she looked so confused and conflicted after it, I just wanted to hug her and let her know that no matter what her sister would always love her.

I'll bet if all the navmesh in the game was redone by hand it would reduce the game size by half. But that would be a lot of walking the dog! Actually, he'd prolly die of exhaustion. LMAO!

Ooooh, I didn't know you had time to play it again 🥳. Glad to hear it and love the ideas. I always wanted to make some way for Norita/Nora to masturbate whenever the player wants, especially on the virgin route because she lives surrounded by sex and she's deprived of all that xD.

 

Nah, that guts, innuendo thing was a real pain in the ass that I vowed never to do again. I'm not the best friend of formulas and calculations, I'm more of a letter person, so anything to do with numbers repels me. However, I do want to bring back anal training and bring it up to 200 as a goal, with a gold buttplug and lots more in between, courtesy of Kali.

 

Speaking of letters, I have no problem with the amount of dialogue that needs to be written. But doing dialogues with a character that is not present (let's say, a phone call or, in the next update you will see it, when you ring the doorbell of a house and the character answers “from inside his house”), has another system.

 

That system has two limitations:

 

The dialogues on the other side must only contain one line of dialogue. It starts to bug at the second line of dialogue, so one line only.

For some reason, I guess engine stuff, the other person's dialog has an annoying half/one second delay.

 

I'll make sure we can hug the sister at the end of version 6.9. I thought there was no animation but look at THIS 😱 (new hard requirement incoming...?) The forbidden romance is a central axis of my next plot, and it should end with the protagonist accepting and supporting her sister, without implying that she gets along with her new brother-in-law of course.
