Bug Report - Norita/Nora Route v6.9.0h

 

Not sure if this is a bug or intended, SA generates trauma on the pc after filming the Mirelurk King, so I'm guessing that the animation is flagged as aggressive.

 

Edit:

 

For anyone that wants to stop it, (as it lowers self esteem) go into console and enter:

 

set fpa_value_trauma to 0

I'd replied to this (probably why it's showing up again as a question?) just a bit ago, it's actually due to one of the assets in the textures add-on, basically it is muting colors so they appear more natural and youthful - think lip stains vs lipstick, natural lip fleshtone colors and such.  If you dislike this muted makeup asset just follow the steps here 🖤 I usually move it to another folder so I can use them when I want and then remove them when I feel like having the darker lipsticks 🤷‍♀️

sorry, I think you misunderstood.   The missing voiced lines were with the BoS soldiers in the bar (3 specific lines pictured) and JB has stated they have been issues since day 1.   The picture with Patti and Dallas is there because the OB is spawning on the wrong side of the door...and that door is interactable with for that scene so he cant just open it and come through.   Since I might be the only one having that issue and by disabling then enabling the door after he walks through it proceeds its not a big issue.

Gonna be sneaky and work on the files while at work (Perks of working from home: My laptop/desktop is right there) downloaded 6.9h for it, used an earlier version of 6.9 as a testing ground to see if I could find what I was doing. Only thing I'm not seeing in the .esp you shared in an image was "SCPT" but I've found everything else like notes at least

Ya I find it easiest to just hit f12 (screenshot) whenever a voice line doesn't fire off that way the specific line can be looked at.  That way I don't have to go back to a save and run it again to find it.

The animation does have "aggressive" and "rough" tags on it

I wouldn't use Start Me Up to play as Nora. I'm sure that in any of the routes SMU offers, Shaun and Nora aren't relative. For a quick start as Nora, it's better to use SKK Fast Start.

 

But as you've been told, this is ultimately just to get a good background and roleplay comfortably.  How my mod will treat your character (Nora or Norita), you decide, there's really no need for alternate start mods.

Don't say that. Some days I bang my head against a wall because there's no way to implement your alternate start idea, with Norita first being kidnapped by Raiders Com. Slavers-style, and then being rescued by the Overboss. That would definitely win the hearts of those who still refuse to be Overboss Bitches to this day 😛 I'm just lucky enough to be my own boss and have the time to create this.

I just played it (I have a ton of saves scattered across almost every possible scenario) and honestly everything went well. 🤔

 

Well, at least it's not something that ruined your game.

The worst part is that I have a script created so that scenes of that type don't count as aggressive, and I didn't use it. 🫠 For the next update it goes.

I don't have the attention span nor the drive to make any kind of add-on or mod like this, but off the top of my head, but if a mod fan ever truly wanted to make some sort of alternate-to-the-alternate start, the best way to put it into the storyline would likely be if the player chooses to end their quest at the Dunmore Farm and return to Vault 111 instead of Nuka Town with Sophie. 

 

If you return to the vault, and eventually decide to go to Nuka World, the way it exists, you would either take the flyer off of Duke's metallic body, or head out on your own and then meet Charon at Drumlin Diner and be forced into the Nora route.  I always found that...fascinating XD I understood why, like the end the quest is meant to allow the world access without the quests, and more focus on the actual existing stories for this mod are focus as they should be - plus you have the fun loot box with all the outfits, so you can basically play around IN new Nuka, but without the quests and things you'd unlock, and still get most of the clothing and such.  I only took that "route" once, going from the farm to pretending to be Nora just to see if anything changed XD

 

If anyone does this I have no idea how much work would go into it, and I suspect a TON because you're combining TWO mods at that point, kinda?  But once a player is back at the vault they could have a choice somehow, like similar to the warning at the start of Slavers before you approach Murphy, to start the new quest you make or just follow the mod as is 🤷‍♀️ Some kinda short questline as a slave, maybe because of the age and virginity include it being used to sell Norita to the highest bidder (buying virgins is a current thing people do, which is wild to think about especially with how much money these girls make lol), OB could either rescue or bid on to help her get away from that Lexington mess, but it would preserve the lore for both mods, allow another start with more hardcore features, and the strange people who have issues with falling in love with my Pixel Daddy can finally be like "oh hey, he's like, kinda cool" 😶 I'll die on this hill, man. 

 

To your last point:

🖤he's the first fictional character from any book, movie, game, etc that I've ever done the little "fangirl crush" type thing on, so just remember when shaking your head at people wanting to kill him in the mod, you've done an exceptional job with building your characters.  Their personality developments seem genuine and natural, and from a psychological standpoint you seem to absolutely nail reactions and responses as well as how dynamics function.  It truly feels more like a "real world" than any game or movie I've experienced due to exceptional writing and story creation.  Much like Norita's cooking, playing this you can feel the love, patience, and time put into this 🖤

Because it's so realistic, I'm betting most players feel like they're being scolded by a parent - mistaking concern for anger and such XD

Either someone has to know the crash address and potential conflicting mods, which with 326 mods - no thanks, or you start a profile with just the required & recommended mods and start there, or you start halving your unnecessary mods until you find the cause.

 

I would recommend installing the optional PDB for NG, might be useful if the symbols for the crash address or call stack are in the log, otherwise you have to look at the full stack and hope that it will give you an idea what could be the cause.

 

BTW, why do you have both Fusion Girl & CBBE installed?  How does that work?

 

Edit: Oh, looks like may you do have the optional PDB for NG, and that's why NG sucks, the guys doing RE have a much richer PDB for old-gen than NG.

yeh i think when i start a profile imma just degrade fo4 at the same time. i didnt degrade bc most of my mods at the time are NG version.

 

i have no idea lol. i thought i only had fusion girl installed. gotta remove that

NG should be fine, I haven't played this mod on NG in quite a while but others do.  But likely your problem is your loadout, you have a lot of opportunity for problems with 300+ mods, not that you can't get it to work -- it's just with some of the other expansion/overhaul mods your probably going to run into other issues that requires some skills with xEdit to merge conflicting records and so on.

 

You can wait and see if anyone else has any advice for you, but yeah I would go with a new profile and start with the basics.  Hopefully your not using Vortex.

oh now that you mentioned it, it might be bc i installed and uninstalled the 2k overhaul textures while having another textures mod? or its bc im still using start me up redux? (ive been meaning to change it to skk fast start instead but my save has lasted quite long. so i will just do it on my next playthrough for norita route)

Personally I use Another Life . Sure it has the same problem with jumping right into the MQ with Nora being Shaun's mother. But the vanilla MQ had bad writing anyway, so I just pretend it never existed in the fist place. This mod, even with it's sometimes broken English, has much, much, better writing.

 

Also, can we get an option to set a hotkey to check our stats for Norita? I think I mentioned this before, but maybe I just thought I did, and forgot to actually write it out.

 

Anyway;  Still loving the mod JB. In fact, the game is basically unplayable for me without it. I just can't go back to that horrible vanilla story. Keep up the great work.

Does not sound silly at all, and yea I even made the program my whole window to no avail until I opened the one that's in my Data folder which I'm leery on editing (I have more than one Nuka Ride ESP files at the moment figured I'd look in all of them) I wonder if the one I'm looking at that doesn't have SCPT is the one from Google and not Mega I'll grab a new one from Mega when I can download it (computer had a bit of a conniption earlier today and Mega thinks I've hit my limit for today haha) and see if I just was looking at the Google Docs esp (If that is the issue, then woof but at least I've found it worse comes I'll copy the one I can find SCPT in and work with that one out of the data folder) ❤️ As always thank you JB

Have a question about a dialogue choice(s) that come up twice but have choices that are not even in the same realm of each other.   When you 1st talk to Sophie on the roof of the farm and she asks what you were planning to do the choice all revolve around acting or lawyer (not sure why that one got thrown in) when you talk to the OB at the bar when you determine if your joining the harem or not - none of the choices are even close to those.   Though joining the fathers company makes sense as does some of the other options but none of them have anything to do with acting.   Guess the point is, they seem totally random and lack any kind of story consistency that we the player are trying to form.   Think I chose trouble maker as I don't recall ever picking that one before.

any RSE mod (check the f'n manual for the ones to never use, but I just stay away from all of them, personal choice so take it as any opinion)

Begger Whore

 

 You want to stay away from too many things effecting Diamond City until you are ready to go into commonwealth.  

All of these can be turned on at that point, but probably not a good idea at start.

Be aware these all leave fragments in the saves and will likely kill it at some point, so as rough as it sounds will need to start a new game.

Also try to avoid as much as you can things that start up upon exiting vault, so many things can go wrong there as has been discussed at length.

Also adding to this, True Storms is fully incompatible with vivid weathers (it mentions to absolutely not use them together) because they will, without question, cause crashes and I didn't notice any patches for the other conflicting mods with True Storms that you have listed either, without those will cause crashes according to the main page.  Vivid Weathers also has a high percentage risk of crashes in the Boston/DC area, so you absolutely want to avoid mods that touch that area when using it anyway, which makes it semi-incompatible with DCE

 

A few conflicting armor mods with Armor Keywords as well, and I've never used the light saber ones but...I'd check compatibility for those with the holstered weapons mod

omg thank you. i cant believe i didnt notice diamond city expansion was in there. i will start removing them and start a new save.

NAC X has some seriously crazy weathers, here is an example of a fire storm that will literally cause burn damage if your not sheltered....I run almost all its suggested mod setup and like the way the game looks.

oh and you can turn a bunch of them off for when they get in the way - like doing chores in the garden of the apartment or on the farm!

What sort of effect are you hoping to get out of the weather mod, specifically?  Like, control over weather changes, realism, etc.  

 

Heh.  I think your patch didn't work because you also use Darker Nights, which from what I recall hasn't updated and can cause the patch to outright not work properly (and have issues with some weathers like fog, weird FPS issues in my case during wind or rain, and snow) when using the two patches including the Synergy mod with it 😶

 

Darker Nights also has a few conflicts with True Storms, if you're not careful about load order, but I can't begin to tell you where they each belong in your load order unfortunately.  I want to say TS had to override DN, 

 

I'd have to go back and check your list again to tell you which ones specifically caught my eye that I remember being a big no-no with AK if you want me to get back to you on those 🖤

 

I definitely agree with the other comment that while playing NR, at least until you get the full experience as intended, make a load order specifically for this mod  Sooooooooo worth the effort, and then after you've played through it, try adding one by one mods that you want to enhance the experience.  Weather mods and armor mods overall won't be used, though if you're trying to avoid radstorms there is a suggestion on the NR main page, since if you choose the Norita/alternate path you'll be at the farm quite a bit and that's where weather matters - otherwise a lot of it is indoor spaces and such.  

 

Pro-tip the best way to add mods is to play through a mod you like, then add *one* mod you really miss the most from your playthrough (for me, Cheat Terminal was my first addition) and start a new game, play all the way through - if any major bugs happen, you can kinda adjust easier and know what the conflict might be and how to fix it - and repeat until you have all the mods you want to use.  Takes a looooong time but once you get it just the way you like it, it feels like winning an achievement trophy XD 🖤
