Good for you I guess.  But for me it is super reproducible. 
I started with a complete vanilla start with no mods and played until I could get to a safe in Sanctuary.

I then my 82 mods (almost all of them are just for this mod) 1 by 1, loading the save and testing the lock picking.

When I installed Random Main Menu the inventory interface came apart. On my first attempt through the Norita route, there wasn't really anything to lockpick, so I didn't notice it, but I was seeing some odd things between the Pipboy and hitting the ESC key would cause the same behavior as well.

 

I am not seeing that behavior with the mod deselected in MO2.  I am not saying for sure it is this mod, I am just saying my testing by process of elimination is pointing to it.

 

It doesn't make sense why this mod would evoke this behavior since it only has .xwm and .bk2 files in it.

 

The only UI mods I have are Extended Dialogue Interface, Looks Menu, Looks Menu Customization Compendium, Mod Configuration Menu 1.40 BETA 2, and Hide Pip-Boy.  I suspected it was one of the latter two, but I could not reproduce the problem by isolating them. FO4Edit isn't much help here because the mod only has music and video files in it and MO2 doesn't show any conflicts either.

TBF, some of the best mods created are just like you have described.  They start with a simple idea and grow organically into a unique experience.  The characters doesn't have to be consistent, what more important if character agency.  Too often, "story modules" become nothing more than a visual novel and the author forgets that there is a game where character choice has different consequences. 

A lot of complaints about Beth quests are a direct result of not providing interesting player choices.

 

The only complaint I have about the Norita route is that there are too many chores. I have to clean the bathroom, clean the yard, cook, etc. IRL. I generally try to escape doing chores in games. ;)

Bugs report:

 

1. _NR_FratChores (I'm such a pervert😵)

In _NR_Fratboy05_group (greetings of the boy by the pool table), one of the conditions of the greeting "Put on those rubber gloves. I like to fuck my bitches with that shit on, alright?" (for stage 610 and 620) is GetGlobalValue '_NR_CodeNameSnowBunny' != 1. I believe this condition should not be there, it prevents this greeting from triggering if Nora's stage name is SnowBunny. If Nora puts on the rubber gloves before talking to Fratboy_05, the other greetings proceed normally and lead to sex on the pool table. Maybe a greeting for SnowBunny is planned but not added?

 

One more thing: the script on end of this greeting should be "Do nothing", I suppose.

 

2. _NukaRide_Lyons

(I imported my Nora save from NR 6.5.)

The quest does not advance from stage 320 to 340 on its own, nor from 340 to 350. Cooking the nukalurk sandwich does not kick stage 340, move to Overboss and talking to him does not kick stage 350. I'm unsure whether this is because NR 6.5 missed some variables needed by NR 6.8, neither did I find the culprit. 

 

3. When was the global value "_NR_Beast_Global" added?

Finally someone tested my test quest  😭 Thanks, I'll fix that!!

 

  • What happens is that _NukaRide_Lyons added a new alias in version 6.8. So to move to that stage, the alias needs to be filled, but since you are using an old save, the alias is empty. I think the new alias is the Player itself. It auto fixes itself when the quest resets itself after receive your pay. 

 

  • _NR_Beast was added in 6.7, and is modified the first time you shoot for Kaiser. 


If Nora shoots with the dog, that global will set to 1. This will enable the bestial content. 
If Norita (non-virgin) shoots with the dog, same. This will enable the bestial content too, like a scene with Punker in the cupcake world. 
Virgin Norita does not have that option available.

Does anybody know why my girl looks slightly different after I load Nuka Ride?
It is quite subtle but the brows look different. Eyes and lips a bit different as well. Easier to see the difference if you download both pics and switch between them in the image viewer.

As they told you the best thing to do is to load a save before you interact with that cable. Send me if you can a picture of that cable you say, I'm going to kill it in the next update. 

 

I don't dare to come close to that cable car again, but its the one above the gauntlet where quest markers will tell you to go to reach Jack Cabot.

You have to return to the Commonwealth... sooo take the scooter/vespa/William or wait until you get the options. You can muck around while on a NR quest to the Commonwealth too. If your panties are really in a bunch coc back. coc diamondcityext

I really don't want to touch post-war Sanctuary or the Commonwealth. Sanctuary it's surely one of the most used settlements by the user community, taking that away from it would be too much, let alone the consequences it could bring to modify a place where a lot of vanilla stuff happens. 

 

The story line is already set by Nuka Ride. Norita still has to visit Diamond City with Adolf, dance with Adolf, inaugurate the new studio, film stuffs, work at the Nuka Club, get the galactic park, go to Far Harbor, etc. I just have to adapt it to her route. 

 

You probably don't know this, but I barely edited Far Harbor for a quest, and until not too long ago there were still problems with vanilla quests being reported to me. It really is a mine road to get into places where vanilla stuff happens, imagine the scale of the Commonwealth. 

sorry, what you said is totally correct.   I just want to point out that Norita's story is so much fun that it inspires ideas like this, which is totally how amazing this mod is.   After that date with the OB it just made me feel like she is really getting in her groove, and needs to have something that is hers and hers alone, like she put in the work with no help from the OB.   Maybe something as simple as she takes over Cappy's Cafe to turn it into something other then a total muck hole that is.   Like who would actually eat there....oh wait we are talking about raiders who don't understand the concept of bathing (at least a third of them don't).   She just needs something not related to Porn to show the OB that she is way more then he thinks she is, though I think he is starting to realize that anyways (amazing story telling in this route btw!).   All this is just love for what you have done, take it as such and if anything sticks thats just icing on the cake.

Thanks for the help everyone. I have fixed the previous issue. However, now I have a new one. I finished the Lost in the Jungle quest and am supposed to talk to my sister. She is however nowhere to be found and there is no quest marker. I tried to SetStage the quest but I cant find the quest I am supposed to start with her.

Hmm, I have a question. Why isn't there a separate themed tattoo pack for the Snowbunny?
It makes sense. If the PC chooses the BBC route, she should have tattoos.

I am reading this far closer than most (enough to spot even little continuity errors), and replaying quests over to get all the dialogue options and the context they are said in. The ESM Translate tool destroys any context of the game world, too.

 

Also it simply did not occur to me that CS was released after NR. Honestly, if I'd have just realised that I probably wouldn't have posted my comment. Of course CS is a tighter experience in that case!

 

On the other hand, this will make the error correction easier to complete. I've gone through the corrections assuming that consistency of the 'main story' is more important than the individual quest the player is currently on.

 

Meaning if I was going through Norita's story I can point to bits of it and go; at this point she is just out the Vault; at this point she is wanting to leave the farm; at this point she's met Patti; at this point she is working for the Overboss; etc. Then, on the rare occasions I'd need to change words, not just grammar or spelling, I'd keep in mind the story progression.

 

I've assumed I should be doing that with Nora's story. 

 

Whilst I mostly can; the result is a lot of 'bumps' that I really could have smoothed over.

 

The mod makes a lot more sense if I think in terms of individual quests. From now on I'll take a 'quest first' approach and not worry so much about consistency between quests.

Check your apartment, if you sleep before talking to her she will be warped into it.

This mod brings some facial bones specifically for some girls, so that ends up affecting your preset by the looks of it.

It's likely some other mod, a corrupted save, or something to that effect.  But probably the best thing for you to do is report it on the mod's page to see if any other users have reports.  I just take your post as looking for confirmation if others have similar issues with the Nuka Ride mod loadout.  Attaching a few screenshots showing RMM, game version, f4se version, and lockpick screen -- not sure how yours differs but maybe these are helpful.  I ended up switching to old-gen to let new-gen mods catch up, so not really using it actively.

 

BTW, there is a lot of "weird" stuff that can happen even with mods that are well behaved, like stuck input enable layers due to some weird mod conflicts/interactions.  So it could be something like that, I would start with a new save game and check if you can pick a lock, there is a safe right in Sanctuary.

Then I tried to make ramifications (rebellious, submissive) because I realized that's more or less the roleplay experience people wanted. I implemented that in NR4, but already from the beginning with Norita.

Another interaction possible, a corrupted save -- nope.

You misunderstand the problem, it isn't the lockpicking screen, it is the inventory for the character and the container after the lock is picked.

 

The other symptom is that when the Pipboy is opened, hitting the escape key will also kill the UI in a similar fashion.

Like how, when you first meet Mason, he is circumspect about auditioning you for a porn studio. Which is really odd given that Nora has fucked a potectron and even a dog by this point (depending on path).

 

I've been desperately trying not to rewrite the mod into my own words (spelling and grammar, rewrites only if necessary). Knowing that I've been trying to preserve a main story arc that is only loosely connected, is a relief.

 

Like I'm there thinking 'I need to change this word when replying to Geneva about shitting at Ann Codman's door, does it move Nora from the rebel path?'.

 

And the answer is 'no, Nora just doesn't want to shit at someone's door, FFS!'. 

 

At least I don't have to think about that now, what's in front of me is what's intended.

A new EET file with edits. Once again, this is spelling and grammar, with rewriting only if I had to.

 

It also includes all the edits I made previously, as I'm just adding to it. I have also corrected a few previous lines (such as the one to Geneva above, actually).

 

There is a specific edit I wanted to draw to your attention to in case I've missed something:

 

Original Bulldog line:

I wonder how you will do it, because I plan to take you to a clandestine doctor to cut the cartilage on your tongue.

 

Changed to:

I wonder how you will do it, because I plan to take you to a clandestine doctor to cut out your tongue.

 

I'm assuming the intended meaning is ‘cut out the tongue’? But this is very specific wording with the ‘cartilage’ thing. It’s just that the next sentence is about ‘making the PC a better cocksucker’ and I don’t see it if they don’t have a tongue, as I've rewritten it. But I don't know what the cartilage thing means. Wow, I am seriously overthinking this now that I write it.

@Softbuck  "Frenillo" is called in spanish. But no idea how to spell it in English, but that's exactly what was zjzc pointed out to you. 

 

I have seen one or two corrections that I preferred not to inject, such as “To your cervix, officer. And at your service," by George Cooper (I think that's how you wrote it). But I did inject the rest. 

 

It's easier for me in a single EET file. It doesn't matter if it have previous corrections or if you cover different quests. 

 

I have some bad news. The injected dialogs don't change their time stamp. That means I have no way of knowing which dialogs you changed (in Creation Kit) so I can update the voice file. Your changed dialogs keep their timestamp, so one could only update the voices manually, which is crazy.

So, JB, I was thinking. Maybe in our alone moments OB could call me by my real name instead of the....um...other things he calls me. Also, maybe I could choose some pet name for him other than Daddy when we're along.

 

Maybe when the relationship progresses further.

 

Just a thought. 😁 It's fine if it doesn't fit with your vision.
