Sounds like a fun idea. It doesn't stray far from the original idea that Shaun wants her out of the porn world and does everything in his power to convince her. 

 

Now. I'm not a mother. And I don't think you're a mother 😜  But I doubt very much that a mother would just turn her back on her child, no matter how old he's gotten. He's still blood of her blood. It's a really intriguing scenario. 

 

If I had to deal with that scenario, I would probably come at it from the side of a mother who does what she does because she likes it, and tries to get her son to accept her, even though he is completely flabbergasted. He wants to walk away, but the bond between them keeps leading him to her.

I don't know, these are changes I'm introducing post ending 6.8 so it's more for those who want to go on adventures with the sister. 

 

I had forgotten about your request but I will change it for the next update. “Rhythm of the Night” is more of a song that I relate it to Isabella. Write this in the console and you will hear the song I had planned to play during that date but I'm still not fully convinced.

Also I'm putting in something that I couldn't get into due to lack of time and that is basically Norita asking about the Overboss tattoos more specifically, when they're together at Fizztop. This leads to, among other things, talking about the Overboss's belly tattoo, with the possibility of reliving the first oral sex scenario. "You don't look like you need a reminder, do you?", "No, my throat's had enough" /"I might need a reminder or I'll get a little bratty on you".

 

Today I ended up with another +130 lines with the clone as a companion. I'll test it tonight by going on vacation to Costa Rica.


Finally, this is the biggest change. Sanctuary's “underwear model” really should have been Adolf. Or a relative of Adolf. Keyshawn/Lamar would be reserved only if Norita is named Snowbunny. I don't know, I think Adolf really fits the Sanctuary aesthetic better than Keyshawn. 

 

I really want to tie this version down before I sit down to plan the next quests. So suggestions are welcome.

   so I had this idea as I was playing the Cup Cake dream land again.   What if the PC on the Norita route talked to the OB about not just working on Nuka World, but also on starting to change the Commonwealth.   This has been hinted at by Father, Music, Corsica and I think the Brotherhood.   The 1st part would be to rebuild Sanctuary into the place she went back to in the dream, which would be more focused for her since she has her best friend back in Isabella.   However, the OB says thats not on his agenda currently so if she wants to get this done its her job to get the investors for it.   This would start a long chain of quests where she would have to get funds, resources and man power.   At this point she has a large network of people so she would have to bring them all together in the project.   She could also use Vault 111 as a selling point as she can get them in there as a pretty prestine Vault that the Brotherhood would probably jump at as they love to get technology.   The car industry, clothing industry (she does like her outfits!) and she can start a bakery/eatery to help fund it as well (cup cakes and omelets to rule the world!) maybe she can even find a way to get Slocum's Joe involved (I know its basically dead in vanilla but you can fix that right?!).

Just think of all the things she would have to do, people to probably have sex with, and all the promotion she would get for the studio (open theaters all over the commonwealth!!!).

What do you think? something maybe you like?

Man this is too much scale for poor me. I was especially amused by the “This would start a long chain of quests”. 😭


I really don't want to touch post-war Sanctuary or the Commonwealth. Sanctuary it's surely one of the most used settlements by the user community, taking that away from it would be too much, let alone the consequences it could bring to modify a place where a lot of vanilla stuff happens. 

 

The story line is already set by Nuka Ride. Norita still has to visit Diamond City with Adolf, dance with Adolf, inaugurate the new studio, film stuffs, work at the Nuka Club, get the galactic park, go to Far Harbor, etc. I just have to adapt it to her route. 

 

You probably don't know this, but I barely edited Far Harbor for a quest, and until not too long ago there were still problems with vanilla quests being reported to me. It really is a mine road to get into places where vanilla stuff happens, imagine the scale of the Commonwealth.

Hey @JB. When visiting Dara to start the audition, do you have a screen fade when first spawning at the Hubologist Camp?

I always have to F5+F9 to clear the fade.

Yes, also when you go to the roof to watch the fireworks. I can remove them.

The roof seems to always work, but Dara never has. I wonder why? The fix is simple, but the "why" is more interesting. ;)

Also after playing through Cupcakes again, I have no bloody idea how I got through it with a black screen. Should have played the lottery that day! 😜

I think it's because the roof it's in another cell. But that scene you mention only moves you a short distance in the same cell.


I use it to camouflage teleportation. 


Dara: Come on, let's go. 
*She disappears in front of your eyes before the script moves you*.

It's a quest that I made for Nora, it's a mission that Kali gives you as part of her training, but I couldn't implement it yet. I could give you the console commands but I think it won't work because that quest asks you to go to Music's store to get your nails done, and that's something that can't be done anymore.


There are hidden/unfinished quests that you don't need to translate because they are subject to change.

Anf i really enjoned ending of Made in heaven. I mean route with OB and William. But a think that crashing bike its still not enought punishment for this bastard, LOL.

Hi,


I am getting the message  "warning: ending nuka ride" saying I killed the overboss or started Nuka World. I have not entered the gauntlet, but I did interact with the tube in the gauntlet building because I was following the wrong save marker. Is there anything I can do to rescue my save? It won't let me do anything before it removes the mod.

It is possible in theory, but too much work it's not worth it. Besides, Nuka Ride is visioned for a (relatively) powerless protagonist. 

Start a new save, begin a fresh adventure😏

... or load a save before you reach level 10.

I would have to disagree there. I really wouldnt mind spending some time on it if I could get some pointers on how to fix it. My last save was a few hours before, and I really havent done anything outside playing the mod, it just broke when I loaded my last save the next session. I just tried to interact with the cable car and it said the power was off, that is all. I havent played any part of the questlines outside the mod.

 

For clarity: I have not actually killed the overboss nor am I the overboss or have I done anything outside the mod except interacting with the cable car.

Interesting. Storylines have completely different attitudes towards the PC.
Norita is smart and able to stand up for herself for OB.
The complete opposite of Nora. Whom OB considers a dumb meat for fucking who can't do anything at all.
But in fact, it's the other way around. Norita is just a very young girl and Nora is a lawyer. That is, Nora should be smarter than Norita.
In my opinion, this is very interesting.

There's no way, it's just that when the DLC starts it does a bunch of things that I don't know how to stop. Basically the DLC thinks that you are on your way to kill the Overboss, and even if he is not dead yet, the main script already starts to put globals, scritps and factions. 

 

As they told you the best thing to do is to load a save before you interact with that cable. Send me if you can a picture of that cable you say, I'm going to kill it in the next update.

When I enable the Random Main Menu mod, it kills my lockpicking interface.  The character inventory and the container inventory don't display and only the item preview shows on the screen.  It kills the controls so the only option I have is to ALT-F4 out of the game and reload.

 

Again this is on NG, so there is probably some version incompatibility going on.

Simply put; no.

 

You'll need to reload a save from prior to interacting with anything to to with the tube station. Nuka Ride basically takes over Nuka World and needs the Overboss alive, who is killed in vanilla Nuka World at the start of the DLC.

 

Whilst you play Nuka Ride, be careful not to go near the tube stations. Either coming or going to Nuka World, as it causes a conflict and NR will shut down. Several quest markers will point to the tube station due to how the game works. Ignore them and always use Kaiser (mainly, there are a few others) to transition to the Commonwealth.

@JB. So, I have a question/ comment/ criticism/ feedback/ thing, that I'd like to ask:

 

I'm not sure where the mod is intending to take the player (as Nora) in the end. 

 

I noticed it now that I'm paying much more attention to the actual script.

 

It's just that Commonwealth Slavers sets the tone very clearly (and keeps it); it's a story about raiders breaking the spirit of a fresh-out-the-Vault Nora they have enslaved and abused. Then spins around at the end and you really feel her to embrace becoming an avenging-angel-of-fucking-death on everyone who wronged her! I can see her, at the end of all that, sitting in the corner of a bar and giving off major 'keep the fuck away' vibes. Like Aragorn in Lord of the Rings.

 

I don't get that sense of continuity playing through Nuka Ride, sadly. Multiple interpretations are great for art, but, and I mean this criticism honestly; I think you've lost the thread of what story you intended to tell in Nora's version of Nuka Ride. Norita's is much tighter (HAH! 😆), and I feel like you know what story you're intending to tell there. In fact, it's very clear.

 

Essentially I think what I'm seeing is that Nora's responses vary depending on the quest rather than on a particular story the player is expected to experience all the way through the mod.

 

For example, Nora can be; 

  • a cynical manipulator willing to degrade herself if necessary (some rebel options with Overboss); 
  • a junkie doing anything to get her fix (The Mule);  
  • a frightened, brutalised, pre-war housewife forced into sexual slavery (The Special Girls); 
  • a pre-war housewife-turned-wasteland-porn actress happily surviving (anything with Corsican or Music); 
  • a straight up bimbo (submissive with Overboss).

These all tend to either conflict with one another or cancel out (IMO); for example; any submissive bimbo story is cancelled out by Nora's 'sister', who would be the ideal woman for the Overboss, frankly.

 

I'm doing 'The Special Girls' quest at the moment. So maybe this is just striking me because in this quest the dialogue is mostly some kind of unwilling compliance from threats of violence. Come to think of it, the writing gives me Commonwealth Slavers vibes, was it intended to be part of CS?

 

Each quest seems to have massive tonal shifts. Like going from recruiting Cito to 'recruiting' the girls is just such a noticeable change from goofy humour to dead serious and back again.

 

I feel like I'm shitting over your labour of love. I really don't mean to. Please take this as honest feedback from someone who loves the mod. And, you know, has noticed that this years-long, incredibly complicated, one-man project to mod an entire DLC; might not have maintained a perfect consistency of tone if I think about it for more than I'm willing to admit. 😇 (Especially now that I am reading every line for errors).

 

I'm not asking you to change anything, either. Just a comment on something I've noticed. It's still orders above the main quest in FO4.

 

No seriously. I've played through the main story of FO4 precisely once; or twice if you count reloading a save to join the other side. I've just had second helpings of CS, and now I'm back to Nuka Ride!

(Also, if they answer is 'Hey, I cobbled this together from duck tape, prayer and the souls of dead Microsoft systems engineers to get this far, give me a break!' then just tell me to fuck off).

Since you're making corrections, you'll probably find lines that are never used in the mod and this is one of them. That went to C. Slavers. Nora can't end up as a junkie here. 

 

What you're failing to see is the overall context. This mod has been growing, and I have been learning over the years and adapting to the new knowledge I acquired. The mod first served only to move you from Commonwealth to Nuka World. The first thing I learned from youtube was how to program a “MoveTo” script and nothing else. I literally laughed like a moron when I got my first script to work, during the pandemic. 

 

Then I learned to script AAF and put in a porn studio. All my characters were standing on one spot because I didn't know how to do packages. Then I put in a story for NR3 because I realized I could tell a story. Then I started to include globals so that, finally, my mod would remember things you did. Didn't you kneel before Maxson? Well, the Overboss was going to find out. 


Then I decided to include the Overboss in the story as a sort of pimp with various girls. You notice it when Maxson comes in. The Overboss offers caps for Nora. He punishes you if you don't agree to serve his “friends”. He "lends" you to Nisha. That's the pimp. 

 

Then I decided that the OB wasn't going to be a pimp anymore, but rather a warlord with several girls (the difference is that a pimp whores his girls, a warlord would want them all to himself). I cleaned up Nuka World and turned Colter into a guy with economic ambitions. 


And I finally decided that the OB should loosen up a bit more and open up more to Nora. So I created C. Slavers to send my hardcore ideas there and keep the fun ideas here. 

 

Now, you tell me, after four years of creating this motley beast, do you want me to make it all consistent? Do you want me to sit down to plan a story, now that I know what I can tell, what I can't tell, what can I animate, what limitation does the engine have, to take advantage of my knowledge of scripting, of packages, of everything I have achieved since I learned to make my first script? 

 

I did it. 

 

There you have Norita's route. 

 

Nora's route , inconsistent, motley as it is, it's the route that led me to learn a lot of things. It didn't start out as a quest mod, and when I converted it to a quest mod, I decided to make changes to them.

That said, Fallout Costa Rica is so much fun and original! They even have a version of the Fallout soundtrack converted to salsa playing in the background. The best thing is (I have no idea how this is done) is that my follower reacts to beautiful scenery and brahmin farms. I just wrote the comments and put the keywords. I guess the mod author arranges that in his map and trigger the comments.
