I have a general question, because I am still totally inexperienced in terms of AAF mods.

I started the Qust of Nuka Raid and met with Kaiser, who wanted to shoot a commercial with me. The following AAF scene lasted only a few seconds.

Is this intentional, or can the AAF scenen be extended somehow. Or even let them run until you end them manually by pressing a key?

I had this problem too on my first playthrough w/o this pack and on the second run it used one of this pack.

Fast answer: look into your MCM and change setting in Nuka Ride

 

Long answer:

 

1. The length of an AAF scene is "generally" determined in your AAF_settings.ini  

Its in Fallout4/Data/AAF/ or in the separate AAF directory if you use Mod Organizer (then open MO, rightclick on Advanced Animation Framework -> Open in Explorer and then you again find it in the AAF directory.

 

2. In Nuka Ride (and many other mods) you can have different settings for scenes started by the specific mod. Open Mod Configuration Menu ingame, go to Nuka Ride and there in one of three tabs you can change the length for animations started by Nuka Ride. Default is 30 seconds i think.

I have been running a setting of 5, but yes, I had SH interrupt dialog before.

JB has had some of the people here (the US and UK based people) provide edits/corrections to his dialog.   The latest extension hasn't had the same treatment.   The trick is that you have to be an experienced user of FO4edit to do this.   So, he has stated that he will take help with translations/corrections/etc.  

 

 

@JB.  One minor issue, esp for those us who play on difficult levels and anyone that has turned the Institute into the Imperials (it "fits", but some would say immersive breaking), maybe double the number of fusion cores sister has?  I had to go into console and give her another four.

It is a good idea. I'll put it for the next update. In fact I think the sixth name, Dogmeat, will come back. And I'll put an option in the MCM so you can decide if the name change is reflected in the pipboy/interface, or not.

Dialogues are great. I only wish you could skip through them faster. I'm playing survival and some of the talking takes so long my character gets hungry, thirsty and tired halfway through. This is getting tedious since first in a fast reader and second sometimes I need to repeat whole chains of conversations due to bugs and having to load earlier saves. But I suspect that may be an engine issue and a quirk of FO4. Since other dialogues from other mods can't be skipped through as well. I suspect those are hello and forced hello type of events cause it's the same issue with harrasement for example.

 

OP: did you write the story and dialogues yourself? Character's personalities really shine through, they are great and the story has all the right tropes in just the right places. 

Lol, glad to hear you like the story. Yeah, I wrote it myself, but it gets frustrating sometimes since I don't speak English, I speak Spanish, and sometimes I can't convey something correctly. 

 

I especially remember that in version 3 there was an occasion where an NPC said "You turn the Overboss green". Which in English makes absolutely no sense, but in Spanish. "You talk badly about the Overboss behind his back" would be the contextual translation. The problem is that when you write a lot you get tired and those things slip.

 

And not to mention conjugations, consistencies, etc. The whole mod is a big mountain to climb, but I do it because it's fun.

Typos are unavoidable, since English is not my language. At one point I thought to upload the mod entirely in Spanish and let the rest of the users translate it if they wanted, but we are talking about more than 8,000 lines of dialogue and it is not an easy task.

Try this. 

 

1- Install F4z RoDoh.
2- Install the Fix made by ssjhdl123 (very important). Put and replace it in Data\F4SE\Plugins
3- Then delete my "Nuka Ride - Voices_en.ba2" file as it's redundant by having F4z Ro. You'll find it in the Data folder.

 

My voice file should make the characters move their lips and allow you to quickly skip dialogue, but if it's not working you should try that. ?

Speaking of which: I am thinking about running some renamer mod to replace Bubbles with my previously chosen name (after I finish NR questline and back to the regular adventures). Is this fine from the technical point of view? Or is the current renaming done somehow differently and I will break things if I try?

Sure, you can change the name that won't affect the mod. You can even change it now. It's just the interface.

Likewise, the mod will continue to call you Bubbles, because the important thing is a global value that you have assigned.

That's actually perfect. This is how I envisioned the name choice will work when I received this quest: I thought that this will affect only mod content. I am fine being called Bubbles by my Nuka fans. So I really like your plans for a MCM option.

You can use the console command showspecialmenu to renname your character. No mod needed. Just alter the name portion of the menu then hit the key that submits. Do not alter your special skills any.

I kinda got the gist when I came upon the phrase "By all saints!". Makes perfect sense in my native language, both linguistically and contextually, but made me scratch my head for a moment seeing that appear in English text.

 

Anyway, those are some damn good dialogues despite occasional syntax and word order oddities. My favourite part was Overboss and Maxton or whoever this guy was talking business while Starlight was waiting like a good girl.

I don't know if it's related to this mod, but I got this problem in scenes from Nuka Ride and I was wondering if someone has encountered them as well:

 

In scenes which use Leito animations I am forced to end the scene manually, it doesn't end by itself. And unlike in other sex scenes, I see AAF HUD in Leito scenes. Should I remove Leito altogether to prevent this from occurring? Or did I miss some patch (I was following the AAF Fucking Manual).

Two bugs that I found:

 

1. If you become overencumbered before the travel, you won't leave the location (fast travel mechanic?) but the NPC with whom you are supposed to travel disappears, possibly breaking the quest. I found this bug with Gage: he gives a rifle as a reward, right before we are supposed to travel, but I got encumbered and was stuck in Nuka World after he left.

2. I am unable to fight Tessa. The character is stuck in the taunt/mock animation while Tessa simply initiates and finishes the fight.

I had this occur as well once or twice. No idea why it happens.  I just ended it manually. No big deal.

I had been playing exclusively Skyrim for the past uh... forever (4000+ hours on SSE alone last time I checked) and I only started FO4 recently just to take a break for a while (and I also fucked up my load order yet again and didn't feel like installing, setting up and patching 400+ mods AGAIN).

Anyway, I set up AAF just this last Monday having no idea about FO4 environment by following AAF Fucking Manual guide exactly and installing everything as listed in animation section. Amazingly, it just works (tm)

 

You should try this solution if you haven't already.

Dropping in to say that Made in Heaven is one of the funniest quests I've ever touched hands down. Haven't finished it yet and still laughing my ass off.

I need help with "Kill me Softly" quest. I can't find Thompson and Sierra. I looked everywhere, Billy hints about roller-coaster, but roller-coaster entrance is closed and requires a key. I have no idea what to do, spent about an hour running around, looted everything in Dry Gulch.

 

Edit: Ok, nevermind, found it now. Damn, this one was challenging.

Has anyone had a problem where getting in Charon's truck causes a CTD at teh end of the loading screen? It's been happening to me every time. (I did check that I have the Nuka World DLC)

Not really. Insta-CTD usually means missing or conflicting meshes. Check what else you have installed, any replacers or overhauls.

Those required clothes mods from Nexus are not available (easy girl and other). Will it be ok to miss them.

I just checked, they are still there. Could it be that you have disabled adult mods on Nexus? I remember that there was such option somewhere.
