Shadowofsora Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 i've honestly tried to play the first .//hack game but i can't get over the annoying fighting system (though i played back then without controller on pc) but they are still on the to play list, both .//hack anime i've seen as "child" have inspired me :3 (the twilight ring one and sign) and what is "filtered ecchi"?

Think Funimation version vs Bluray version. It isn't censored/cut, you just can't see what it is the animators wanted you to see.

Kendo 2 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Funimation being the worst. I watched Deadman Wonderland (or tried to) and they edited with screen zooms 90% of the good gore scenes. I mean you're watching and then the screen zooms down to the lower left and there is nothing but a pixelated 30 second shot of someone's elbow with all of the dialogue and sound fx still playing in the background.

The way I understand it, what TV Tokyo airs from midnite to 4am is usually filtered for Funimation. High School DxD, DateAlive, Seikon No Quasar, etc, get filtered. They even filtered the few panty shots in High School of the Dead. If it isn't a promo piece for an existing manga, a game, or available on prime time Nippon TV they filter it. No clue why though, they rate them as 'for mature audiences only' and then don't show anything, as far as ecchi or graphic gore goes. I guess if you're watching Pokemon, One Piece or Naruto Funimation is okay.

For instance I'm interested in "Tokyo DTED" I just don't get wtf happens after chapter 9, lulz. Info at reddit seems fishy.

I never really cared for spoilers, if you can't enjoy something after being spoiled then it wasn't worth watching in the first place and you can make the argument that it retracts from the experience but I actually pay more attention to the plot if I have a priori knowledge.

One of the MCs (Sakura) annoys the living hell out of me. The concept of her still loving someone who constantly puts her through as much pain and suffering as her love interest does every time they meet even almost killing her on three occasions makes no sense to me and at the same time she completely ignores the feeling of the man who loves her plus saves her from every hardship she has ever faced including imminent death at the hands of the man she loves. I know it's a story but I can't stand that type of thing it gets under my skin. If I ran into a situation like this irl I'd smack the bitch and tell her she's a moron for loving someone even after all he's done and that she doesn't deserve the love of the other.

Now shonen is the same problem now that i'm an adult. I guess that's why they are shonen ( young man ^^ )

It's a twelve episodes anime. Many of the scenes have been shortened considerably and some have been altered to fit the time frame. If you want more, read the manga instead.
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Looks like March/April has some interesting things to offer Nisekoi S2, Knights of Sidonia S2, Highschool DxD S3, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru S2, a new Haruhi spin off focusing on Kyon and Yuki, and a few other shows that sound interesting as well.
