Finished Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (first season, second season and 3rd season) glad I didn't ignore /m/ on this one (like I usually do, even if it is the kind of show I tend to ignore) it really is Gundam in a schoolgirl outfit.

Also new episode of Garo and I fucking called it!

I knew the family Leon was living with would die at some point, anime these days is getting a wee bit too predictable.

I'm still not sure how they rationalized killing off Lara while at the same time showing her in the end credits being protected by Leon and her standing next to him in the final ending scene PLUS the thing he wanted to protect namely Lara being dead means he now has nothing to protect which would also mean he no longer has any motivation to become a makai knight again other then revenge AGAIN!!

Naruto overdosed on filler episodes just skip the side stories and it should be enjoyable, I just watch the battles on youtube.

Yes, it's horrible how many filers there is. Hopefully, with the and of the manga, we won't see fillers anymore in the Anime.

All the filler is actually one of the reasons I stopped watching Fairy Tail. That and how predictable it's gotten.

That's more word recognition then predicting what is going to happen in the show. You hear the words in Japanese and read it in English enough times and your mind starts to remember this means this. Basically it's the same as learning a language in School it's just repetition.

A good example of what I mean would be an anime like Kill la Kill. I figured out that Ryuuko and Satsuki were Sisters just based on their appearances and small hints in the story.

Funimation being the worst.  I watched Deadman Wonderland (or tried to) and they edited with screen zooms 90% of the good gore scenes.  I mean you're watching and then the screen zooms down to the lower left and there is nothing but a pixelated  30 second shot of someone's elbow with all of the dialogue and sound fx still playing in the background.

Where did you watch that? I don't remember what you are describing with the screen zooms. It was more than a year ago, though, maybe I just don't recall correctly, but I don't think they censored it like that. I remember it being pretty damn gory (and a pretty good series, wasn't popular in Japan though so they only did one season :( ). I even watched it on Cartoon Network, it was the first time they aired it though. Haven't watched any of the current airing on CN, is that what you were watching?

If you haven't done so already, I recommend for you to watch these oldies:

- Hellsing - Short but good vampire anime, which doesn't have any romance content in it, which makes it even better (at least I didn't notice anything that could be labeled as romance). The MC is just badass.  :)

- Erementar Gerad - For me this one is one of my favorites. It has decent plot (not PLOT), with its funny and romantic moments. They just don't make animes like these anymore. Most of the recent romance animes focuses too much on harem and fanservicing. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with that, but too much is just too much.

- Tenchi Myuo series - A good set of series, with 3 different seasons and several movies. Harem/comedy anime.

- Tenchi Myuo: GXP - A spinoff from the main Tenchi Myuo series, which focuses on different characters. This is good harem/comedy anime, thou the ending was a little disappointment for me. It also felt like cliffhanger for 2nd GXP season, that never happened. But overall, it's a good anime to watch.

And I highly recommend you to watch these with their original sounds, not those english dubbed versions. For me, whenever an anime is dubbed over, the voice acting quality drops enormously, which makes the anime painful to watch. But that's just me.

Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari is another Tenchi spin off that focuses on Tenchi's half brother Kenshi. I personally really liked how they did it as 13 45 minute episodes. I kinda wish other animes were like this so they could fit more of the story into the anime.

I watched Hellsing Ultimate, never watched the original series. But yeah, Alucard was very entertaining.

As far as voice acting, for the few animes where I checked both versions, with some of them I actually thought the American voice actors were better. (Bleach for example) But it looks like we watch different types of anime too. I'm not so much into the romantic comedies. But for the most part I agree, subbed is better.

Checking on how long one piece has stayed in the same bloody island for I came to the realization that a great deal of people must have died of old age before seeing the end of the story, this is really dumb I know but just what amount of time is reasonable to keep your story going for? And before anyone says comics I'll say fuck comics.

I generally drop long running anime at some point, I either get bored of it or I forget where I've gotten to and can't get back into it. I prefer watching anime that are 24-26 episodes long, I can stomach a few that are more than that (most Gundam series' have a running length of 50-52 episodes) but once it hits the 200+ mark I tend to not bother with it.

Same here with the long running series, it just gets boring over time. There's just too much side stories stuffed in.

One Piece is probably the only +100 anime that has kept me interested, since I've watched it from the day 1,  thou it also gets boring from time to time. But, after the 2 year time jump, I was disappointed for how they changed the artwork in the series. It's like it turned from shounen to pokemon/childish, there's just simply too much color if you know what I mean.

How fucked up is it that Detective Conan has 700+ episodes? How can people keep their interest in a character that has been in primary school since 96?

Oh well. I recommend Nanatsu no Taizai for this season, cool characters and at least the arc will be finished and the story will have a semblance of an ending, it can keep going or not.
