Pornhub Targeted

This has NOTHING to do with how the talent is treated

Did you ACTUALLY READ the blog post I linked to at the top or did you just hit the QUOTE button & start typing WITHOUT EDUCATING yourself on the issues??

Wrong. Plain ass wrong.

Stripe contacted the banks and lenders that use their service because of this behavior. Stripe quite literally owns almost all ecommerce transaction venues and they have the power to quite literally shut any service down that they feel violates their ToS. The owner of Stripe is one of the largest private contributors to the New York times and your blog is a collection of opinions, opinions that do not jibe with what's actually going on.

Pornhub's treatment of talent is what started this entire situation and it started three years ago, and the powers that be have decided since pornhub won't fix their shit in regard to either ethics or copyright or legality, they'll go ahead and do it for them, because no one is going to stand up to the guy literally holding how the site makes any money at all in his hands.

Your fetish goggles need replacing.

Pornhub has been known to not only NOT moderate their uploads, but the rape/Revenge porn/kiddie porn uploads have been a problem for years

There's a number of cases of missing girls who were found after videos of their rape were uploaded to Pornhub, including one where over 58 videos/pics of her assault were uploaded to the site, She was 14 and missing for over a year. To top it off there's been numerous cases where girls who have suffered this had to chase Pornhub for months/years, threatening legal action to get them to even do anything about removing the videos

Let's not even talk about Girls Do Porn (one of the big affiliates before they fell from grace) who the people behind that are facing trafficking charges (alongside Child porn/Child trafficking IIRC) for Luring or coercing young women into doing porn, going as far as to entrap them or sexually assault them for their profits.

Then you have the issue of them not removing videos that violate TOS. There are numbers of girls who were either assaulted or their boyfriend recorded without their knowledge and uploaded and pornhub would remove it once and do nothin about sickos reuploading the videos, even though some of these were when the girls were literally underage and despite the videos being reported directly to them over and over.

The problem and why Pornhub is being targeted is not because they make porn, it's because they do nothing at all about the sick shit you can find on their platform. Facebook in Q3 2020 ALONE Reported they removed 12.4 MILLION images depicting child porn off it's platforms, Twitter reported from June to December 2019 that they closed 264,000 Accounts distributing child porn... Pornhub in ~2-3 years has only reported 118 instances, according to The Internet Watch Foundation. There is 0 way that you are the LARGEST name and site for uploading porn and you're reporting you only had 100 cases of child porn on your platform when platforms that aren't even for porn are literally reporting close to the millions. Make it make sense, cause it doesn't.

so As far as I care, they deserve what they're getting. They need to step their cookies up and get working to solve that problem instead of doing nothing. I hope cutting off their ability to make $$ will push them off their asses into proper accountability.

A comment posted by the Internet Watch Foundation chairman doesn't make it look like they think that harshly of Pornhub tbh.

https://www.iwf.org.uk/news/pornhub-data-out-of-context-tells-us-nothing

But maybe he just didn't want to say more because then Pornhub could sue him for libel? Dunno.

How do you know that they didn't moderate uploads? That story about the girl and her mother finding pictures and videos of her on Pornhub is so old and gets cited so often that even I heard of it and I don't even frequent Pornhub. Except for checking let's plays of hentai games that look promising, and then in 99% of cases turn out to be poorly translated dogshit with ridiculous views about women and often with child porn even in major releases ... Y U so fucked up, Japan?!!! ... anyway ...

They seem to have handled the GirlsDoPorn case badly though, reacting very slowly, which supports what you claim.

I'm not here to defend them but I imagine moderating a site this big is rather difficult. So unless you do what they just did and prevent all unverified users from uploading there's always a few cases at least that will slip through the net.

The thing about it is that it's not just one missing girl having been found via pornhub, it's multiple missing kids/women. There's numerous stories of missing kids or kidnapped/trafficked kids/women who were found after videos of their torture were uploaded to pornhub, I just cited the more known one cause it's there... and it's a glaring failure of the moderation responsible that they let over 60 videos of a 14 year old stay up or go through. and Pornhub has done nothing afterward to moderate the situation or take out those videos as they keep popping up. There's a number of victims of this who have had to spend years, and money chasing PH to actually do anything about removing the videos of their abuse, even though they say they have systems in place to stop this.

For Example, they supposedly use a system to "fingerprint" videos, which has been found to be easily circumvented by editing them.

Even with Verification...

Looked it up and you'd figure they'd show all the steps for verification, but this is the one and only step I see... This isn't very strict for a verification system. and considering that's the only thing they seem to require for it... what is this gonna do? Nothing! They say Step one, but that only applies to the Model program.

I notably had to do WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more just to become an affiliate with Twitch and Twitch isn't a porn site. Twitch shouldn't be stricter than pornhub to become verified or affiliated.

So clearly all the stuff they say they do... is not enough and they need to do more. If they're letting so much fall through the cracks, then they need to be getting better or stronger moderation teams. If they can pull out the cash to buy snow plows and all kinds of stupid PR stunts, they can spend that cash to actually moderate their site, and stop that shit from happening. There's 0 excuse they waited until now to fix it and shows they don't care as long as they are raking in the cash.

It’s pretty sad. My profile was obliterated, including audio content I created myself. And I technically don’t have a way to prove that I am “the person represented in the video”.

I understand that Pornhub’s hands are tied. But this is a rough approach for them that’ll leave the website smaller and less-inviting.

y'all are also forgetting something basic about porn here...

who owns it.

former porn actress here. Once upon a time, that was a well paid thing to do. Then every phone had a cam in it and people could upload stuff to onlyfans. Now don't get me wrong, I'm long retired and I'm a big supporter of sw rights and I think people should be free to upload their content any which way. But those licenses do get sticky don't they. Plus, do have any idea how creepy it is when I see some re-edit of my old ass being re-uploaded on pornhub...plus I raised my kids in the internet era having to tell them, don't watch internet porn because you never know when you might see mom. Trust me, that's effective. FWIW, I'm trans dude now so bearded lady is even less appealing in that regard, but I digress...

Used to be a few hours meant a wad of cash in my hand and that was fun! Now, *sigh* wait...where was I going...oh yeah...everyone can upload videos so a clip is even easier to come by than ever and even more likely to be edited and might be stolen or uploaded by someone else, so you do need to ask, whose getting paid for that clip?

So it's not just is it porn, and is it all adults and consenting adults, but was everyone in it agreeing to have it on the internet?

Usually when I'm looking for porn, I'm usually after rough stuff, brutal, bondage, gangbangs, that kinda thing, I have run into stuff that looked like actual rape before but never on pornhub.  Sometimes on motherless, but pornhub actually does a pretty good job of moderating their content even if there's way way way too much spam of the same badly made 3d porn clips going around on there.

Really don't get where the whole idea that rape or underage stuff is on pornhub, and that their moderators actually let it stay up, I've never seen or read of any valid evidence of it other than hearsay or 'my cousin's girlfriend's uncle's best friend was raped and saw their video on pornhub';  there's some real bad shit going around on some of the networks, but just not on pornhub from what I've seen.

In my opinion it's only really being targeted 'cause it's one of the largest porn distribution networks, and not 'cause of anything else; it makes it an easy target.

Sigh... Let me explain to in simple english how jokes work...

"Since when was PornHub an actual porn site?

That is not how jokes work. Jokes by definition must contain humour. What you posted is just a statement. You only played the humour card after @Mr. Otaku had pulled the rug from under all your other attempts at defending the statement.

You sure are late to the party...

Hasn't PornHub been vaporized yet?

ngl, it made me laugh a little that they compared themselves to social medias like facebook and twitter. That being said, imo the only thing that will change from this, is that PH wont be one the best sites for such content anymore, i can understand the reasoning behind it, but lets be real here, theres just too many sites like PH that let you throw up whatever.

Nothing will change!
