privacy ratings ducjduckgo

As creatures of habit, it usually takes some 'event' or the like to get us to try something different. For myself it was the increasing number of 'paid' website recommendations when doing searches on Google. Once DDG was set as my search engine, I found myself getting a much better selection of results and wondered why I waited so long.....

Avast tells me this site is safe - if it only knew ?

I find it interesting that Loverslab started requiring Google plugins and authentication in order to log in.  Especially the Google-Analytics plugin.

Really says something about the downward spiral of the internet when all your porn websites are being steadily and quietly coopted by Google.

Curious what DDG is rating this all on? I  can't find any DDG tools in my quick/lazy searches to find any tool to see what the breakdown of the resulting rating is. So no idea what I need to fix to make it a higher rating...

Google Analytics has ALWAYS been a part of LL. I've had an analytics code installed on the site since the beginning, mostly for my own curiosity.

Google on login, (recaptcha) only came about in the last few years because the site started to be constantly attacked by bots trying to brute force random peoples logins. ReCaptcha was simply the easiest/fastest solution to this problem.

If I could make the site Google free, I would. But the simple fact is that Google's solution to analytics and captcha logins remains as the obvious solutions to current needs.

I appreciate the reply, but the question has to be asked: aren't there ANY alternatives to those?

Analytics is tolerable - I have multiple tools to eliminate that - but the google captcha is fucking infuriating.  I don't know what idiot metric they use to dictate which images are acceptable answers, but I hate having to go through a half dozen different iterations before I log in (No, you dumb piece of vacuum-tube jizz, there are no more pictures with buses in them).  And I've seen other captcha options before.

The most I've ever had to to 're-do' a captcha before was twice. The first one either had too few or too many pictures of the object in question. This was the only conclusion I can draw from my experience which seems closer to an internal problem that triggers limit flags (over/under) regardless of if the actual selections were correct.

The rating is based upon a duckduckgo privacy  browser plugin for firefox. I think the highest rating I've seen is a B+ ,except duckduckgo giving itself an A

It's based on known privacy practices (as stated in TOS),  trackers, and encryption.

LL supports HTTPS so that's fine

DDG is blocking mindgeek and google analytics trackers on LL for me. Those don't affect the B+ though because that B+ is after trackers are blocked (LL is rated C before the "enhancement" from the plugin).

Only thing stopping LL from getting better than B+ is "unknown privacy practices" which just means your TOS hasn't been manually reviewed this website: https://tosdr.org/ .
