When i badmouth marissa and they enter sex they just stand in eachother and i get a message best described in the screenshot provided at the end of this post. I have the problem with both the previous sexout version and the one you just uploaded. You answered me in the strapon thread about a different problem, are these related? Keep up the good work!
prideslayer Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 That is usually an indication that animations are not installed correctly (the data fomod). It looks like your tryouts is out of date though, I believe loogie recently changed that scene to not have marissa use a specific animation (33) but I could be mistaken.

The answer is to backup NV while it's stable before you start adding major stuff to it either by copying the data folder or Steam backup, I'm not sure the Steam backup copies mods.

Well sex in sexout can only fail two ways... 1. Sex actually starts, but you can't see it. The actors are locked, the sounds are playing, but they don't move -- they stand inside each other as in your screen shot until sex is done. This only happens when the animation files are missing, or another mod has screwed up the idle anims globally (as every single pose and anim mod -- except sexout it seems -- does). 2. Sex doesn't actually happen. There will be an error message in the console with a number x.y. The 'herm support' (for lack of a better word) from jaam will throw such an error for example, if sexout is told to have sex, but the orifice is not available. Sexout throws these errors itself if the actor is already having sex or it's a unsupported creature, stuff like that. Since your issue looks like #1 I'm "jumping to the conclusion" that it's one of those two problems.

I *think* something is getting confused in the random animation picker, sometimes, but wasn't able to reproduce it. I'm going to go through the whole random picker in sexout and make sure everything makes sense.

Once a zaz animation happens, it broke all non-zaz animations. It's fixed in .69. About the confusion...I kept running it through the motions while I was trying to trigger Amy's jet script. On one sex attempt, all of a sudden it's a blowjob animation where the giver is in a box with mannequin heads. I was so not prepared for that! Scotch does not clean up nicely from the desk! I'm updating and reloading everything, but I think I might actually miss the surprise factor! SS is using its own random picker for the ZAZ animations I'm pretty sure (I don't think ZAZ has one of its own, and sexout doesn't do it), so this will almost certainly continue to happen..

Is this something I've screwed up on my end (again), or is it just how things are?

The animations need to be created though, and I'd have to add a new category for them so I make sure to not do the 3rd person / tfc stuff. Not just for my episode but I could see that really catching on if it were possible to do. It's possible, really no difference between 1st person and 3rd except in the animation files themselves. Honestly I don't even know why there's a difference there, but it seems that there is. Maybe all the bones aren't available when in 1st person. Every 1st person animation would *have* to have a 3rd person counterpart though, so that it will still "work" when in 3rd person, both on the player and on npc vs. npc.

Need to think about how I'd want to implement it, not sure how long it would take. Ideally I'd like a flag the caller can set to say "do this in 1st person" or "3rd" or "don't care" (leave camera alone) -- and I'd have a 1st person anim to match every 3rd person. In order to kick such a setting off though I'd need at least a handful of animations. One 1st person for each creature, one for anal/vaginal, and two for oral (m and f receivers), at a minimum. Until then I'm not going to be able to offer a 'choice' to modders. If there are only one or two 1st person anims, you'll have to play them specifically by ID when you want them or leave it up to the random picker. Of course I'll have to toss in an MCM setting as well to let users disable/enable them in the random picker.
