And I did not install any bodies randomization mod. I play as a female character, but I also applied "BT3 - Zero" preset in BodySlide to the body and outfits of a male model according to this guide. I mean, randomization is good in general, but I can't take a game seriously when the characters I'm familiar with already (like Nate at the very beginning) have giant body shapes. The ZeX-ZBG mod installs example LooksMenu BodyGen configuration, which randomizes NPC bodies. You can disable the activation plugins for its male and female BodyGen configuration, or edit the examples it provides to better suit your preferred ranges for the various sliders. But how can I edit the examples? Do I need to change these presets in BodySlide and save them?

They're text files you would edit with an application like notepad. Read the LooksMenu mod's description for details on its BodyGen configuration file formats.

But ok, thanks for help I think TBOS picked the names to coincide between similar BodySlide presets and BodyGen templates. If you need, there's a tool called BodyConvert which can translate back and forth between those and also to/from LooksMenu presets. 1

Good to know, thanks. I'll keep this though (unless I'm bored with this in the future).

One section does say that there is a link to public downloads but it has "no access" on it. Read the rules in the #rules channel, react to them as it instructs, and the other channels become available. Consider it a kind of IQ test.
Whacked Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 @Saya Scarlett Thank you for putting in the work for this guide. Everytime I come back to beth games I have to relearn everything, and I think I'm getting slower. 👍 On 4/21/2024 at 11:40 AM, vaultbait said: The ZeX-ZBG mod installs example LooksMenu BodyGen configuration, which randomizes NPC bodies. Ah ha, I was getting really annoyed with the bodies, thinking this was just the new standard, big boys who look like bodybuilders that stopped working out but kept eating. 🙃 So quick question, I am not that far into the game (still testing different mods for a playthru), and I'm not too interested in male bodymorphs, is disabling the ZBG plugins, or uninstalling it the solution? I don't want to edit all the presets, just nuke them. It was listed as a requirement, but I'm thinking it isn't in reality. I got a bunch of FG sliders that I can't use too. Cheers
AfterPartyyy Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 I've been racking my brain and can't seem to figure out why the cocks on dogmeat and other dogs dont seem to appear during animations. Is it a conflict with files, or?
Whacked Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 I also have the missing dog"meat" on all dogs, but I haven't looked too deeply into it yet.

Cheers The system is not easy to choose between bodies or to switch bodies as Skyrim is. If you want to convert from one body to another and have specific male bodies with certain female bodies you have to jump through hoops read large amounts of directions on how to get them to work. Even then you will run into problems. The older animation system is wonky as compared to the newer animation system in development but the newer one needs more animations to develop in order to make them better. Id love to be able to play more of the fallout system but after a short time its frustrating not to be able to play different characters with different bodies and the animation system being wonky just terminates your interest. I keep hoping this will change.

ZeX-ZBG installs (among other things such as LooksMenu support for BT and FG) two separate empty plugins corresponding to its included female and male BodyGen config samples. LooksMenu only reads BodyGen configuration from directories whose names match enabled plugins. Disabling the plugins for the configs you don't want will cause BodyGen to no longer reshape new NPCs you encounter. That won't reset the body shapes for NPCs you've already encountered, but you can use console commands or a mod like HBD_MorphDebug to clear the existing morphs from those NPCs if they bother you.

You're better off following the recommendation at the beginning of the guide to reach out to the help channels of the AAF Discord for faster assistance with troubleshooting this.
Here4SlootyMods Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Does anyone have a Change Log of the most recent changes? I'm wondering if something significant changed or if a mod author's mod was just added.

Thanks for the explanation. I tried the console commands I know, but they didn't work, HBD MorphDebug did the trick, thank you. 👍 Edited April 24, 2024 by Whacked
snackiecake6996 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Hoping someone smarter than me can help. I've got 99% of this working but the last issue is men have underwear on. And sometimes their faces are a different color than the rest of the body. Only happening to men. P.S. huge thanks to all you modders out there. You rock!

Alaswing Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 does anyone have a way to do this with just a download :P, since the update we cant use F4ase right, it took me a lot of time to install everything and finally Fallout update

eaterants Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 (edited) i had a general question about the latest update since f4se doesn't work, once a new version of f4se is made available will most mods that depend on it work again or will all of them need to be updated to new versions? If that's the case, then I will try to revert the update but if not, it would be better to wait for a new f4se right? Also does anyone know if having mods currently enabled with vortex crash or corrupt files if I try to overwrite the updated files with the old ones? dam it all this cause I forgot to disable automatic updates. Mister X Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 Heyho, Most of the time I play Skyrim, but like many others, I'm considering getting back into FO4 because of the Amazon series. I'm familiar with modding in Skyrim, I've also created a few mods myself. I'm mainly hoping to learn the differences between Skyrim and FO4 here. For this reason, I've been browsing both LL and the Nexus for successful mods and came across the Native Animation Framework (NAF), which sounds like the successor to the Advanced Animation Framework (AAF). My question: is it really the successor/descendant/follow-up? To what extent do the two differ? Can I simply replace the AAF from this manual with the NAF? And more general: Which mods other than those described in this manual are essential or recommended? Bug Fixes, F4SE plugins, UI changes, mandatory Gameplay enhancements both SFW and NSFW... I know of the STEP Guide for FO4, but since it's from mid '23, is it still usable or sufficiently up-to-date?
Lady Wintrish Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 Same as Mister X. Already familiar with modding Skyrim. My question is : worth waiting for the F4SE update or better to simply downgrade to previous version? I don't want to wait for the F4SE update to then find out that the majority of the mod aren't working.
vaultbait Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 5 hours ago, Mister X said: is it really the successor/descendant/follow-up? To what extent do the two differ? Can I simply replace the AAF from this manual with the NAF? It's not a successor in the usual sense, as both AAF and NAF are being developed in parallel. I haven't tried NAF but I've heard from people who are trying to use it that there are features from AAF it doesn't support and differences in how it handles certain API calls. I personally don't support NAF use with my mods, and expect users who encounter bugs to first reproduce them with actual AAF before I'll look into the situation further. This manual recommends actual AAF, not an AAF substitute. Other documents you find elsewhere might disagree, but if you want to follow one of those instead then take any questions up with its author, since they would be off-topic here and any answers you do get are likely to be no more helpful than mine.
