@psiberdragon Here is a screenshot of my Fallout 4 Mod Storage folder. It's unfortunately not as organized as I would like it, as when I first started with it I wasn't as careful in my planning. Second shot is the Vortex Mod page, showing the 'install from file' button (in this case, my Skyrim game). Third shot is my Skyrim Mod Storage folder, much better organized than my FO4 one.

@psiberdragon Oh, and I should point out, in case you hadn't figured it out yet.

You do not need to unpack the .zip, .rar, or .7z mod archives before you install them with Vortex. Vortex will take care of that for you.

For Ivy, install the files in this order (there are three, assuming you downloaded the magazine add-on:

CompanionIvy6.7z

CompanionIvy_Nuka6.7z

CompanionIvy_MagAddon6.7z

Enable each one as you install them.

Once they are all installed, Deploy your mods

Once deployed, launch FO4 with the F4SE button on the Dashboard of Vortex

Start a new game.

Any time you change your mod list, either adding or removing mods, you must start a new game. Otherwise mod index id's that are baked into your save files will not necessarily match up with the new load order indexes, and you will get errors. you might not notice them right away, but they will be there, and they will accumulate and eventually wreck your game.

I actually had not figured that out. I appreciate it.

And that seems to have gotten what I needed done. Very cool. Off to start adventuring.

And thanks for your explanation and your patience. :)

Is this a bug?

I've received "Ivy's pussy juice" twice but it doesn't appear in my inventory.

You automatically 'use' it upon 'receiving' it.

Awwwww.....there goes my idea of having a special Ivy shelf in my store ?

You can spawn one into the world and pick it up like that. ;)

I have this really weird thing in my game

This red smoky thing on hostile characters and sometimes non hostiles too and it appears through walls

I disabled my mods one by one till I narrowed it down to Ivy CompanionIvy.esm

Any idea what is that and how to fix it?

Edit 1: When I dismissed Ivy and she existed the cell it's gone.

Edit 2: Loaded an earlier save and it isn't there. I think it's related to hypercombat but i'm not 100% sure

I got nothing. But I can guarantee that this red mist is not related to Ivy in any way.

Disabling mods and then testing in your current game doesn't work, the save will contain all scripts from the mods still and any spawned objects in the world will either glitch if they're custom, or stay where they were if they're vanilla Fo4.

It's one of your other mods.

Here's what I would do, Get as close to the mist as you can. Enter the console mode and see if you can select the mist (test that by disabling it) If you are able to properly select the mist, see if it gives you an ID number and maybe the 1st 2 digits in the ID will tell you the mod. But I have never seen that mist in any of my games ever and I've never had Ivy not installed.

I know a "grey" fog that you can also see through ceilings and walls...

..but it is related to the armor mod "Black Widow Armor" - which has a special hood with which you can see your enemies in this way

If so, thats what is doing it when one of the personalities comes into effect/

I use Vortex, and so downloaded everything into the Vortex folder. I enabled the mod under the Vortex, but it's not working. Unlike the other couple of mods I have, there was not an option to download and install it under Vortex, so I placed it in the Vortex mods folder...

As stated, I'm new at adding mods. Especially with those that can't/won't be installed via mod manager. After  downloading the data folder, do I need to install each different sub-folder into its own area, or keep it as Ivy Companion for Vortex Mods?

My apologies for not quite understanding, but almost every other mod I've installed has been from Nexus  and a direct load into Vortex for installation and most of them work. I'd really like to put this into play because I've seen that it's one of the best companion mods out there.

I'm still fairly sure I'm missing something that should be fairly obvious...

As seen below, the mods are there... just not activated, and I'm scratching my head why not...

When you drop the file in, it'll give you the notification:  "Companion Ivy contains multiple plugins.  Enable all?"  And if you dismiss, it doesn't enable anything.  Deploy, then click on plugins, find the ESM and ESP and click enable, and there you go.
