Hi, I've got the latest version of hardship, along with AAF 117. Everything seems to work well, except when the (female) PC approaches a female NPC companion. The dialogue works, however no animations are called -> I have the AAF menu up and there is no activity (gathering, etc). It's as though AAF  is not getting the signal to play an animation (sorry, I'm not a modder so not sure what the terms are). The timed dialogue boxes are popping up, however the characters are just standing there, or even walking away.  I've tried reinstalling AAF, etc, to no avail. I'm using leito plus patch (with pollistro hardship patch), bp70, savagecabbe and atomic lust. As I said, all other aspects of hardship working, including playing animations during raider encounters, etc., and AAF SEU seems to work fine as well. Thank you in advance - great mod!

Currently for FF cunnilingus you need Rufgt's old animations NOT the main Atomic Lust. The next full version will not require this but will make Atomic Lust and BP 70 requirements. I am surprised you get the dialogue though as I thought I had it set up to automatically disable the lesbians global variable when the esp isn't detected... but Maybe it's only set up to turn it ON if it is.

Also make sure you followed the special instructions for that version of Hardship.

If this isn't the problem you might look up a post or 3 and see that people are having problems with the recent AAF betas.

Ok, thank you - yep was thinking it might be AAF, except all other scenes working including F/F raider scenes and female john scenes as well. Only happening during female PC with female NPC, and again it looks like nothing is being sent to AAF to notify it to play an animation (?) - at least to my eyes that's what is happening. I have Leito's, Leito's patch, deleted the XML you mentioned in instructions. I do not use the one patch 1.1.1.

It's not a biggy, but that's a fun part of the mod and thought I should report it. Thanks again, really enjoying the mod.

Update:

In order to keep up the pace (which has been hard lately) I am gonna have to use some less than ideal placeholder positions for One Patch 2.0 users because I simply don't know if they are gonna add staged versions of some of the newer Savage Cabbage animations, or what the fuck they will name them if they do. So while the next version of this mod will be compatible out of the box with both OP 2.0 and Indarello (But no longer Polistro) It seems that the Indarello version may be superior... I simply don't know, and man am I tired of this shit. This all assumes that OP 2.0 actually comes out before my next big release which I kinda feel is doubtful... so for a while it may be Indarello exclusive.

Whenever OP 2.0 does come out if they don't add the staged equivilents I will add them myself, because I hate having to make Indarello a requirement. (even though I personally use it and think it has a decent amount of merit) Fuck it... I might just do this anyway so I don't have to put placeholders in.

MM stuff isn't affected by this issue at all as you'll nead UAP for that in either case.

Hang in there Tentacus.

All I ask is that you give us pretty clear instructions what animations will work.  Specifically - show us a set that works. I really don't care what type of animations they are.

I use Polistro - but I will dump it in a flash if I need to.

As it happens I ended up making custom versions of all of them because honestly some staged animations like "Rough doubleteam" are better without one of the stages. In the staged version the guys start standing up with her struggling... The dick in her mouth doesn't even line up worth shit even with Indarello's tweaks. (To be fair I didn't test Ulfbearth's version for MM,) Then it goes into a long kneeling animation that seems like it has 3 stages of stuff but is just one stage... The whole scene just flows so much better with just the second part, when people are fucking they don't keep standing up and sitting down... lol

I rarely post, but thankyou for this mod - it radically improved my experience of F4. For example, the USAF base enroute to Tenpines - I have wiped that out a 100 times without thinking.

With hardship installed? Oh no no. I ended up going in with menacing raiders activated and ended up in a complete mess within minutes, with all my gear stolen and in a poor way. They were not hostile as long as I behaved - and I planned my revenge. I couldn't fight the radroaches in the basement to get the key for the upper room, but I got the raiders to clear them out for me, sneaked up stairs (after more abuse) and gnabbed a basic shotgun with 3 shells. Naked, pissed off and weak as hell (crippled, wounded with violate active and untriggered) I nailed them one by one. The last one surrendered after a pipe pistol bash and he happened to be my first abuser - cue bad ends animation and sense of glorious revenge.

Fantastic work, I know mod authors put up with a lot from the engine, users and other modders, but top work and thankyou for changing what were previously KOS themeparks to something I can explore from a completely different angle .....

I would be really happy running with your animation setup - if there is any way you can share it.

These are just hidden positions for Hardship to call directly for particular situations. For others where the position matters less I use tags and those will still access whatever you have installed (assuming they are set up right) So even though I am making custom versions of savage Cabbage 3-ways,  if Hardship or any other mod calls the original/Indarello/One Patch version via tags or position it will still play that and not mine.

I have tagged some of these as aggressive so they work right with Porno music, but I am not sure if they will be called through tags by other mods if I have the XML set to hidden.

If, I ever did make my own XML set for distribution I doubt it would be comprehensive as I am a picky bastard when it comes to animations, and it would also not have all the bells and whistles of something like indarello. It's just too much work and I personally don't like things like Cum overlays to be controlled by XML I'd rather overlays be handled by each sex mod, it would be far more logical and immersive.

Shit I just gave myself an idea.

Haha! cool!

I love hearing about these kind of things I've had more than a few magical moments with raiders myself playing Hardship. It ended up being much more of a rape RP mod than the economic one I originally intended... One of my biggest problems is that one idea leads to another.... and another... and my thirst for "realism" and immersive depth is bottomless. I'm also a bit of a pessimistic fucker when it comes to human nature, so it's a challenge not to go too dark.

When I add the slavery/bad player expansion stuff it'll really be almost more of an all encompassing roleplaying suite kinda deal for the ways I like to play,

NPC don't follow my player to private place. Just stay in the same place and the dialogues reset

If it isn't an animation problem then try redownloading and reinstalling Hardship. sometimes files get corrupted for no reason. In this case probably the Follow script.

If it is an animation problem, then, Something's not set up right in your requirements. Make sure you have the right patch version and followed special instructions in the OP. If you are new to AAF make sure it's working right BEFORE TRYING A COMPLICATED MOD LIKE HARDSHIP use AAF Sex Em Up mod to test instead. Test with more than just Aggressive anims. Hardship is not recommended for people inexperienced with Bethesda modding, nor frankly is Fallout 4 sex modding in general as it's a fucking pain in the ass.

If you are using NMM or Vortex stop doing that and switch to Mod Organizer 2. (after you nuke your data folder from orbit) Watch Gamerpoet's YT vids on MO2 to learn how to use it.

We really need to improve your opinion of Vortex.

Tannin wrote both MO 2 and Vortex. Vortex corrected all the problems with MO 2.

He learned a lot, which is incorporated in the new product.

I tried to like it but it is just so much less intuitive than MO2.... and anything that writes and deletes files to the Data folder is just plain inferior. Some of it's defeciencies probably have to do with needing to work with so many different games and not just Bethesda ones. That said as an end user it's probably more useful than it is to modders. As a modder I can test stuff so intuitively and non destructably with MO2.

I am quite thankful for what Tannin did. That said MO2 has also had a lot of major improvements since it was taken over by others.

It won't convince you - but Vortex writes nothing to the data folder. It uses hard links, pointing back to the mods in the Staging folder.

Hit Purge in Vortex - and all those links vanish. Hit Deploy - and they all come back. Fastest way I know to try a squeeky-clean game. No mod data copied - at all - ever.

There is literally no better environment for a mod author. Depravity? It's own profile. HBW? It's own profile. No contamination between profiles.

I currently run 18 profiles on Skyrim SE. All independent saves. I can roll back any profile to test a new version of, say, HBW. It affects none of the other profiles in any way.

The first time I tried M02, I expected MIDI music to play on opening it. Was so disappointed I deleted it and never looked back LOL

I do like how Vortex works sooo much better. Buut! I don't use either one. The next time I have to reinstall F04 I'll prolly install Vortex.

But in the end, it's all personal preference. ;)

Quick question (and it this is a spoiler alert thing, feel free to delete) - I'm not finding the second female pimp NPC (the one other than Isabelle). I've cleared diamond city and goodneighbor and a fair amount of the map, but haven't started any DLC on this playthrough. Thanks

LOL. She's at Bunker Hill. She can die in the battle. Maybe I'll remember to fix that some day.

Well I haven't looked at it in a long time, I was pretty damn sure it was like how the latter NMM had a "Virtual Install" but STILL wrote shit to the Data folder, but I still don't see how you can change the "left pane" (IE things like XMLs) Load order easily in Vortex. In MO2 I just move that shit up or down.

My last post on this. You have enough stuff to worry about without mod managers being in the mix. And I am contaminating your thread...

In MO 2, Tannin used his own home grown Virtual File System, with all the support issues that caused.

For Vortex, this heavy lifting was handed off to Windows in the Hard Link facility.

Result is much the same. The game thinks it is looking at a local mod, but actually that mod is "elsewhere".

Either are superior to NMM. With NMM, if you say Mod A overrides Mod B - Mod B is actually damaged and you can not later decide Mod B should override Mod A.

With Vortex, you can freely change the order around - because nothing overwrites the original mod.

Peace.

It's cool. At some point I would like to come to grips with Vortex, so I can help people debug easier.

Anyway back to the modding. Been busy all morning laying in more supplies. Found a 7 year old freezie pop in the Deep freeze while rearranging it, and ate it... Now that's living the Fallout lifestyle!

UPDATE:

The 7 year old freezie pop did not kill me.

A few fun facts:

The Raider rape script is now 2192 lines long. It has so many branches that are so tall that I have to comment my fucking endifs... I am still not done with the gangbangs... lol.

When I finish this script I am taking a few days off to play DOOM.

Wow... here's a really old piece:

Blackmail1.jpg.50ad2a6934d9a8ccf5020d551528641d.jpg

Here's the story that goes with the picture. I'm not sure if my writing is better or worse since 2004 :D

Spoiler

BLACKMAIL VIDEO

When Anna and Fiona agreed to dress up in sexy costumes and try out their new double sided
dildo, while entertaining the guys at the Delta house party, they weren't aware that the whole
event would be captured forever on video.

Lost in pleasure, the girls didn't notice the camera for quite a while.
Finally spotting the camera, as she recieved a face full of Pete's Cum, Fiona asked "What the
fuck is this!?"

"This is just a little insurance that you girls keep coming to our parties!" Replied John, with an evil
sneer on his face. "That is, unless you want this video to end up on the net... and of course we'd
send the URL to your families." He laughed heartily as he kept filming. "Now keep going! If you
girls don't come soon We'll have to punish you." The edge of menace in his voice was clear.

Fat mike Pulled his big dick out of Anna's mouth and shot a generous load of semen all over her
face. "Hehehe That's right! we own you now!" Chuckled Mike, his fat belly quivering.

Sticky spooge dripped down Anna's face as she turned her head toward's John and said "You're
shitting me... right John? You... wouldn't do that... right?"

"Fuck no, I'm not kidding. Put you ass into it! Times a wastin"! Resigned to the fact that they were

now the defacto slaves of these obnoxious, drunken, frat boys...

the girls did as they were told.

Anytime a guard in Diamond City (don't know if other's do it) suspect me of ho-ing, they take me to jail, where the game promptly freezes beyond salvage. Need to task manager the game and reload. Oddly I can still use console, but I am not sure if using a command will do anything. Doesn't seem worth testing if I may end up with an active script hanging. It's possible 'QQQ' may work.

I have no idea what they do once they arrest you, but the initial activities seem pretty obvious... it has frozen there every time.

No idea what could cause this... I've certainly never seen it. In fact I don't think I've ever had a hard crash "from" Hardship. Redownloading and reinstalling Hardship seems prudent, though usually when a script gets corrupted it just results in that function doing nothing.

Do you have any Jail specific mods, or ones that affect the Jail? CAP maybe? (Lol I feel like I keep scapegoating @Flashy (JoeR) but it's just one of the few popular mods I'm aware of that do have jail content) If so try messing with load order or loading a save without the other mods.

When I am done with the Raider Rape script I am taking a few days off to play Doom, but I also intend to create a new playthrough of Hardship with CAP and some other mods I've been wanting to try so I'll check some of these compatibility things myself.

It could also very well be utterly unrelated to any sex mod and be a location based crash bug! they can be caused by ANYTHING (even a corrupted eye texture... happened to me near the junk yard!) Try walking to the jail yourself with BW mode off. If you still crash in the same area that Hardship TPs you then that is it, and you'll just have to do the old "Turn one mod off at a time" game.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I once had a freeze in Diamond City Jail just as  the first animation was about to start when another guard walked over and tried to tell Nora about the Combat zone or maybe it was Museum in Salem but the game was trying to insert a map reference at the same time as AAf was trying to start an animation.  Before and after that incident I've had the Diamond City Jail sequences run without problems so I decided it was just a transitory hiccup.  I just reloaded a save and re-entered the city with Hardship off temporarily. Most of the time it works just fine.
