I'm willing to bend some of the Bethesda Lore on East Coast Mutants to accept that some at least have genitals, because there would be mutations within the HEV and probably contamination from West Coast mutants as well. I do plan to do stuff with mutants including player slavery but it likely won't be part of Hardship proper.

You are right about Super Mutants being infertile, I had forgotten about that actually (and my playthrough using FamilyPlanning + Wasteland Diairies is not lore friendly as I got myself a mini-Strong :P)! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with Super Mutants!

I would consider myself decent at writing - I write non-adult fiction novels as a hobby, though nothing publishing-worthy :) I'm decent with textures, playing around with outfits, some experience with 3D and the likes as well. I do like the idea of pairing up with someone and/or starting to learn how to code myself would be awesome as well. I do have so many ideas burning up there for Fallout 4 (I feel Skyrim is already getting the love it needs)

An idea I've been brewing on and trying to recreate via mods involve a full raider playthough (a la Sim Conqueror).


There would be are more defined gang factions outside of Nuka World (like Fallout New-Vegas), associated with the already existing gang leaders. These would be a tad more purpose oriented (drugs, slavery, prostitution, technological armor and weapons, or just good old-fashion raiding) and you can start taking gangs over or negotiating alliances. There would be a raider-equivalent of settlement (Sim Conqueror again) for those so inclined where you have a settlement protection racket. I like the idea of creating optional paths - focus on becoming a drug lord (Depravity/Outcasts and Remnant-like), adult entertainment (same as drug lord), slavery (Just Business), building full on working settlements which exist to make money for you, etc. You would could take over diamond city (by force or through something like Depravity), and/or at Goodneighboor (a la Depravity again) have new types of "Stores"; fighting arenas (rebuilt the combat zone into something greater, finding the deadliest raiders, capturing/breeding monsters for fights?), casinos (using Vault 88 tech), strip clubs, brothels (Hookers of the CW + AAF + modified Random Shenanigans to create a john/hoe atmosphere), drug dens (Depravity/Outcast and Remnant), slave markets (Just Business).


In terms of main quest, I'd like to feel it is more central (I love Fallout 4, but I always do everything and anything before the main quest), so I'd hook the main quest to make the player a "I'm looking for my son and killing anything that stands between me and him". So instead of saving the Sturges and the gang, you try to kill Preston (more on that below...), you take Mama Murphy to Jared and start the quest to work your way up the raider's chain and find your son from there. So the idea is Jared explains Mama Murphy's gift and you use that and new drugs variations to push her to get you the info you need to keep going forward - I haven't given that enough thoughts yet, but I want to recenter the main quest to be something I would care about. Oh and also, you shove a gag up Marcy Long's mouth, check if she already has a butt plug, then drag her, Jun and Sturges to get started on your first settlement.

 

The primary opposing faction would be MM (as Preston calls for help from the balcony, a raider is like - shoot that guy in the face and we'll paid you good), so you make your way up, shoot Preston through the window instead of raiders, and kick the door open (or pick the lock), and only to find him running out the door leading to the balcony. You follow him and as he jumps down (so dramatic), he swears he will come back to save the survivors. He then goes on to rebuilt the MM by himself (We are the MM) so instead of raiders sttelement attacks, you get MM freedom attempts with gradually more powerful MM - Imagine them with the WAtMM firepower!

Ideas for other factions:
- BoS, blow them up, or assist them in building liberty prime, hack it, take over the Prydwen (I mean a floating base of operation, f-yeah!), steal and use the power armors, and the rest of their technology,
- RR: divert their underground railroad for them to lead to your slave camps (need to finetune this into something credible). I'd mess with Glory's memory for sure to make her my badass raider companion :P
- Institute; take over for easy manufacturing of slaves and prostitutes.
- Gunners: Take over, alliance or destruction (need to think on this one more)

- Super Mutants; kill, or... alliance with some of them? They make good protection and they need their food after all - a good way to get rid of dead slaves (terrible, I know... no need to be too visual on that one)

So yeah... sorry for randomly blurting all of this out here but with these crazy COVID-19 time, I have lots of time to think and no one to share with. :P

All this to say, I'll keep playing around and trying to learn more, and, thank you for the positives words!

Learning to mod can be daunting but if you start small and on limited scope personal projects eventually it'll become second nature.

While probably veering from Hardship's core scope, I do think it would be amusing if someone made a mod where super mutants keep captives to extract their "milk of human kindness." Maybe something could be put together combining Commonwealth Captives with Wasteland Dairy Framework (seems liike @Invictusblade may even already be playing around with something in that vein?).

White Chapel Charley maybe...? Not sure what he'd really get out of it besides the spite of making meatbags miserable :). Same Voice actor as Belethor so... lol.

Some other suggestions for NPCs:

- Wolfgang from Drumlin Diner (Get your character addicted to drugs and abuses that addiction's needs?)
- Vault-tec Rep (In shock that after 200 years "you're perfect!" What if he wants to ruin that? Maybe abuses guilt to guilt trip the sole survivor into starting down a path)

- Tommy Lonegan and the Combat Zone (End up enslaved next to Cait rather than setting her free? Barmaid and sexual gladiator matches... Sole survivor vs gangs of raiders, beasts, etc.)
- Eager Ernie and East City Downs (Think this and/or the Combat Zone could use Hardship's functionality with raiders to allow entering/interacting with a fight (plus means the sole survivor has to deal with menacing raiders on top of it all!))
- Lieutenant Clint and/or Bullet and Quincy ruins (Gunner "morale" officer anyone? Bullet even tries to buy Billy from you as a slave!)

Good suggestions. I had forgotten about Bullet, because there is an implication that the Gunners are as much or more slavers than raiders. The fact that they are more organized than raiders is even scary.

 

Wolfgan could send new drugs to Chem-I-Care via drug mule-type mission, so the drugs aren't caught by the guards. Although, through Hardship, I noticed that Wolfgan is very difficult to interact with. Most of the time he offers you his drugs even if you have Hardship active. Maybe the missions could be given by Wolfgan's guard. I don't remember her name.

Dunno why I didn't think of Tommy. That's an underused character and having him be connectred would work well with some of my thoughts about Mister Raymond.

Have had house guests myself all week but mine have now left. Hope yours are not too disruptive.

 

Quick question if you see this, will the next version need a new game? I was kicking around starting a new one but I'll hold off for now if I'll need to do it again when the new version is out.

I don't think so. Will just be adding the XMLs and the script fix/changes to block other BP70 and SC XMLs... so should be fine.

I got no idea what you're talking about. That kinda thing is controlled by AAF, and the race data included in Themes. The only thing like that I remember ever bringing up was reporting that the race data for non feral ghouls was set up wrong in themes, but that was fixed like 6 months ago. Otherwise a lot of the creature races (like dog) require that little hiccup to work properly. If you are seeing that between Humans or Humans and intelligent ghouls, then something's gone wrong. 

 

Of course it's very possible something else came up since that I've forgotten. ?

Yeah.. I forget a lot of shite! LOL

I "think" it was something about changing dynamicIldleLoop to dny_ActivationLoop or something like that. It was really simple and stopped the quick popup between scenes.

Hmmm it's ringing a small bell... Ohhh wait This was to do with Grayusers animations specifically. Go look in his thread (Can't remember which one... Probably 50 shades) The info should be in there somewhere.  You threw me for a loop because I expect Hardship questions in the Hardship thread ?

Just on a note of curiosity, is there a bias towards anal and oral rather than vaginal sex. I was wondering as it's not often that vaginal happens compared to the other two or is it just the crappy RNG in FO4.

 

With Violate it seems more even but with Hardship both client and raider seem to be a bit skewed. Could just be I've been unlucky of course.

Just RNG. There might be a slight bias in Raider Rape. Can't remember. Obviously you can lower it by making it a limit. which is reversible but... it does increase the chance of rape on First time customers. (setting any limit does as it simply lowers the statistical chance of a non-rape encounter... setting 2 limits greatly increases the chance)

Update:

 

Okay my house guests are gone so I can get back to working on the update. I still have the Savage Cabbage XMLs to do and the scripts. I am done making estimnates when it'll come out. I'm honestly a bit burned out and need to take more Sanity days than is helpful to work on side stuff... But I'll push forward because this update is necessary to keep Hardship working properly.
