Candy and Yuki Behr

UPDATE 4/24/21: Mostly minor changes to bring these in line with Decembers update to skintones and makeup. Added lifestyles and more importantly changed Yuki's hairstyle (only seen in the header pic as she's otherwise unchanged).

This is very likely the quickest turnaround I've ever had with creating sims, I started yesterday, and am uploading the two of these today, both with a full warderobe and assortment of traits and skills (which admittedly is simpler to do for Maxis sim remakes).

I started with creating Candy by mixing two sims' appearances with genetics (one of them Asian) then settling on one of the off-spring of that and tweaking her 'till I was happy, then I created Yuki off her genetics and tweaked some there as well.

For Candy's characterization I've actually based her partly on the sim DJ Candy "Supergroove" from another game (MySims or something, for phone I think), which has been confirmed to be the same sim as Candy Behr in Windenburg, there she is a famous DJ known for her parties. So my version is kind of set up to be a celebrity (4 stars) as well as having maxed out DJing skill to make her eligible for the Headliner DJ NPC role. When I get to updating the world again she's going to be set up as a Headliner DJ NPC as I outlined in a post on the previous page.

I also switched Candy's traits around a bit, she keeps her base game Music Lover trait, but I added the Worldly trait by Kuttoe (link below) and the Clubber trait from Basemental Drugs, thinking they both made sense (and since I'm doing the social side of it partly through reward traits and fame perks).

With Yuki I just went with the in-game bio that states she is gaining infamy as an underground hacker to give her high programming skill, 1-star celebrity and the Noticeable fame perk.

Love it, great work. Do you have a guide anywhere that walks people through how to replace base game Sims with your new custom versions? I've tried to do it in the past and remember it being a pretty tedious process, but presumably there's a way to do it more effectively. I have MCCC.

is there a post with fixes for some issues? I feel like it's probably a mod conflict, but no one is appearing in the gallery and the saves are broken for me.

Honestly, if you're setting up a new save, just deleting the base game versions and moving in the new ones from your library is probably going ot be the quickest, most Maxis sims aren't really set up with relationships or anything to begin with. The WIndenburg sims are an exception because they're set up in clubs and some of them have relationships outside of their households, so for them you would probably want to use the MCCC function (under "CAS" when you click a sim I think) where you can paste a sim from your tray, you can probably find a decent written or video guide to do this if you google it. And yeah, it is kind of tedious to do that for more than just one or two households.

@jmwjonathan @2cool4u_1 That's kind of funny. Too bad the link doesnt work any more it seems like. I don't know what you hope to achieve by doing that. Like with no changes whatsoever.

If someone uses my sims to make new ones through edits or mixing with genetics or whatever, then that's fine by me, I don't claim to have a TOU or any legal ownership over the sims I make, generally I consider the fact that I made them to be security enough against others just trying to pass them off, unchanged, as their own.

I would be a bit sad and maybe even angry if I found out someone was passing them off as their own and putting them behind a paywall and people fell for it though.

Make sure you followed the installation instructions and checked the box to display custom content in your library. Even if you don't have all the CC or have the wrong game version, if you put the tray files in the right position (the "Tray" folder) the households should appear in your library then.

There aren't really any specific fixes for the sims or CC, CC usually stays pretty intact, though with the latest patch default replacement skins (of which there are 2 in the shared CC folder) don't work so you should fix those, for instance by running this fix on them.

For the save there are fixes that are recommended or even needed at this point, that should be linked in the main file description for that.

Some creators may not appreciate their stuff uploaded, even with edits, but I understand it's similar to a Maxis sim makeover; the person edits it with their preferences that they think would be better (whether or not others may agree). They should still credit the original creator of course. In this case, it was just a straight re-upload it seems. I didn't get a chance to download her to see if the Origin ID still had your name or not. The uploader had about 20 or so sims uploaded IIRC, with a wide variety of styles. They're all gone now, except for three, and one more uploaded today. I guess you weren't the only one whose sim was "borrowed".

Working more on those celebrity sims, still digging into the Urbz well (well I said I wanted to do Cash Monet and Diva Roma because of their connection to the Couture twins and organized crime), I already showed off Cash Monet on the last page and I now got started on Diva Roma as well.

Hard to find an exact hair match for her actual Urbz hairstyle, with the feather and everything, and the color isn't quite right (might look into correcting that). I kind of made a decision that it's a wig and she's got short black (greying ) hair underneath and liked the result, getting that to stick is a bit tricky, but I think it might have worked by creating a dummy extra color swatch for her short hairstyle.

I probably need to get my hands on some new male CC to get Cash Monet more right, as currently I'm having to make do with base game stuff. It's like almost there but not quite cutting it entirely for me in that second outfit. Basically if anyone has a lead on any good CC suits (or recolors/additional color swatches for the base game ones) I'd be happy to hear it

Sometime I have thought about uploading some modification of some Sim of yours, but even if it is very modified it is still your work and I would never do it without your permission.

Looks pretty good. I'm fine with you sharing them, don't let me or anyone stop you from that if you want to do that, you've made edits and made these into your own sims, and though I can kind of see my own style of making faces in these I can't really exactly pinpoint anybody, they're very much your creations as much as mine at this point.

There aren't really any specific fixes for the sims or CC, CC usually stays pretty intact, though with the latest patch default replacement skins (of which there are 2 in the shared CC folder) don't work so you should fix those, for instance by running this fix on them.

For the save there are fixes that are recommended or even needed at this point, that should be linked in the main file description for that.

I swear I must be a top-tier brainlet, because I downloaded everything but I just noticed i'm missing all the tray files, is it right in plain sight?

I wanted to add Roxxy to my game and found out that you have updated yours. One can not import households made with newer versions.

I'd like to play offline and skip the broken windows until theres a s4s fix. With Roxxy I may update sooner ... and enjoy broken CC.

Creating sims you may have no issues with broken CC but ppl playing TS4 could prefer a household which doesn't require to update beyond 3rd September.

No way for me really to revert to the old one, and in general I think everyone should assume tha anything I upload is going to be made with the latest version of the game as of the date I upload something. Besides CC door and window being broken (I'm waiting for a batch fix, but many of the creators have uploaded individual fixed items, what's changed is how doors and windows work) the only other thing that's been broken is default replacement skins (not skintones, just default replacement skins, of which you at most should have 1 or 2), there is a utiltiy program you can download which fixes those pretty easily.

wild_guy's and LUUMIA's Default Replacement skins are available (fixed) on this site. The doors and windows are a huge pain, and Maxis fixed theirs, but not fully. Their reflections in mirrors are still broken, so anytime you see a door / doorway or window in a room with a mirror, the reflection will have a solid wall in it. It's freaky. It's like looking at your reflection in a mirror and seeing someone behind you, turning around and no one's there, then looking back in the mirror and seeing them again.

Yeah, she actually fits in with alot of the reference pictures I tend to use when creating sims. She also reminds me a little bit about an earlier sim of mine, Veroncia Guajardo, somewhat similar-looking nose and hairstyle I think, eyes and such are pretty different though.

I guess there is something to be said for me trying to broaden my horizons when it comes to the reference pictures I use (a large part in why I make sims using reference pictures is to get some varietiy and distinctiveness in facial features to begin with), at this point I've got a lot of dark-haired and brown-eyed Latin/South European/Middle Eastern-looking girls in my sim collection. Not that that's a bad thing, but I'm aware of my tendencies ?

Still! I decided to give her a quick shot, like I did with Giorgia Soleri I looked up a couple of more pictures to have something to work with, hard to find one of her with a more neutral expression so was a bit tough to get the mouth right (and I probably didn't hit the mark). Not quite settled on hairstyle.

Still, a decent base to make a complete sim from in the future. Seriously keep coming with those references, I don't mind even if I'm sometimes a bit inconsistent in which ones I follow up on and which ones I don't. I've got a couple of requests/suggestions I got by PM that I've forgotten to follow up on, that I probably should have a go at as well. As well as one from a request thread that I said I would try out, that I totally forgot about until now.

@Tsuruman By the way, since I did taht with Giorgia Soleri, here's the barebones WIP version of this girl as well if you want that, I'm probably going to be making changes over time and not just make a sim version of that girl, but with this you and anyone interested in that could give that a go

I actually already made some changes and have an alternate slightly changed version in the works (kept the first one, because I figured I'd upload it there above). I noticed a slight resemblance between my sim with the second hairstyle above and Ashley Alban (camgirl/amateur porn performer), and decided to try to make some small changes to sort of bridge the gap (small changes for now, mostly to the body and how her nose and chin looks from the side), as well as adding an updo hairstyle and such.

Using multiple references like this to create sims is often how I end up doing stuff in practice. Begin using pictures of one person, save, then come back and make edits using the same pictures or pictures of another person, then repeat the second step until I'm done more or less, or save the WIP until I can find a use for them, for instance for making a maxis sim or other character (which typically involves leaving a sim's face as is, but changing hairstyle, makeup and clothing style to match the character I'm making).
