I can maybe put a finger on a couple of reasons:

 

First, I'm needle-phobic.  Like, a lot. Like if I became diabetic and had to inject myself, I be like, "Well, I'm pretty much dead. Just waitin' for the clock to run out." So the idea of letting someone repeatedly jab you with a needle is mind-bogglingly incomprehensible to me.

 

Second, and this is strictly personal opinion, the ink most people have just looks terrible. There must be a severe shortage of quality tattoo artists, because most of the tats I see on people are god awful. Or people are too cheap to pay for quality work.

 

Also, and maybe I'm just showing my age here, but I remember when the only people who had tattoos were sailors, bikers, and ex-cons. You had a tat and you had at a least a certain level of badassery about you. Now it's just a fashion statement.

Well, I happen to kind of like tattoos. Sim I'm uploading sometime later today has a couple, though that's not new with my sims to be honest, as alot of them have them. Anyway, after I get this girl uploaded I'm going to spend a little time taking stock of what exactly it is I need to get completed to update my world which has been kind of sitting there untouched for a while now.

Jocelyn "Jozie" Zavala

 

 

UPDATE 10/23/21: Major overhaul to warderobe, new personaltiy traits and skills, somewhat elaborated backstory. 

 

 

Jocelyn Zavala, or Jozie as she's often called and calls herself online, had a tough time growing up. What was shaping up to be a cheery life with loving parents was torn apart as when her father was killed in an accident when she was in her early teens. Although her mother tried to move on along with her daughter, Jozie, barely having entered puberty was devastated and alongside developing a gloomy and shut off side also rebelled against her mom's attempts at moving on, particularly as she began pursuing romantic relationships again and worked hard to barely make ends meet on her modest salary.

 

   

 

Having developed some major trust isses, growing distant from her mom and never accepting any of her mom's boyfriends as a potential step-father, Jozie also had a tough time making new friends. Still, over time she began to fit in with the goth/emo kids at school, having developed her own tastes in clothes and music along similar lines, and becoming close friends with some, especially Ruby Demaris and Denise Bradshaw (a WIP sim). Hanging around with her friends, gossiping, listening to music and dressing up did help her work out her issues with close relationships and her self-image, but school continued bringing her down as she did poorly in most subjects. 

 

 

Jozie had several boyfriends in her later high school years, but none of them really lasted. Sex was somewhat easier, and one of the things that made her feel good about herself. Boys and girls alike thought she was pretty and she started to find that she liked this attention. Going to concerts and parties with Denise and Ruby became commonplace (and still is), Jozie would almost always be the one who thins furthest, the wild one with a bit of a reputation, hooking up with people and doing drugs.

 

 

Jozie had already moved out from home when she turned 18 and she proceeded to flunk out of high school (I couldn't figure out how to set this up in game). Working menial jobs in retail and cafes didn't work out well for her, even with friends vouching for her. But now, living on her own, she needed to pay bills and rent and couldn't rely on occasional boyfriends paying her way and still wouldn't turn to her mother. For a time she worked at a strip club in her area, which actually turned out to be something she did well and even enjoyed, at times.

 

 

Alongside this another thing she had started doing around the same time was posting photos of herself online, first on Simstagram then as on SimHub and AdultWorld as sexy pics turned nude and teasing pictures turned to stripping and masturbating on video for her online followers. No longer working full time as a stripper, and saving herself the commute and having to be on stage in public, Jozie has turned camming into her primary source of income, and thus far it's not working out too bad. 

 

 

Personality-wise Jozie still has her issues, and as indicated in what I've now got for her backstory, has had a bit of a rough go at things. She's at a spot in her life where she can put some distance between herself and her issues and has started generally feeling better about herself and what she does, even though it is unconventional and probably might make it difficult to ever mend things with her estranged mother. She remains close with Ruby and Denise, though Denise has gone off to college and Ruby lives in the city, they still find time to hang out together. Where and how exactly things will go is a bit up in the air for her.

A long while back, several months now, I tried editing some CC arm scars by Satanies (where I've gotten a bunch of clothes and accessories) to make a much more subtle version of some of the forearm scars in that, and I sort of thought that having these for her sort of made sense with her general personality traits and look, not going to try to delve into too much specific justification here other than I thought it fit.

Alternate Hairstyles/Colors

Jozie's normal hair now has a custom swatch with significantly darker and more prominent roots than the old version, of course you can change it around to any of the other colros as you prefer, I actually kind of imagine that hair color would be one thing she's actually changed quite often. Her natural hair color is supposed to be black, hence the eyebrows and roots, I also included a custom black color swatch for the normal hair (it also has two others kind of WIP swatches, one of which is kind of black with white streaks and look bad unfortunately). 

 

In addition to that formal outfit 3, 4 and 5 are all costumes of various sorts (well, the first just a variant of her party outfit) come loaded up with alternate hairstyles I've used for her. The intention being to have a place to "store" them in case you want to change over to one of these instead (just change the everyday 1 hairstyle and that should switch every other hairstyle apart from these costumes). I included the packages for these alternate hairstyles in a separate archive.

Note: Keep in mind the accessory cleavage overlays I use, because Jozie either has an accessory bra or gloves with most of her outfits that have cleavage, you'll notice that the cleavage overlay will not often be automatically undressed for her with her top. If that gets in the way for you I suggest either manually removing the accessory (should be in left lip piercing slot) or removing the packages that add these accessory cleavages (included in Shared CC in skin details)

Took me a while, but finally got to actually continuing this story, will probably do one more part of it, hinted at in this one, and then likely move on to some other sims. I kind of figured it was in the cards for her for a long while, I also took some light cues from a comic someone else made that had her in it, where she had quit Foxbury.

The above got me thinking a bit about how some of my older sims have been changing quite a bit over time as I've (I hope) refined my sim-making process and my abiltiies with CAS and with developing and defining characters. 

 

Thalia is one of the sims I've been developing and changing for a long while, both in terms of appearance and personality/story. Well to start with she didn't have much of the latter, just a vague idea, and for appearance I've been kind of steadily changing some things and adding other things, like way back when my original version of her had freckles, pale skin and blue eyes.

 

Then I had one of my first attempts at making a sim using reference pictures of real people, and out of curiosity gave this new sim original Thalia's warderobe and hairstyle, but kept the new sim's dark brown eyes and really liked the result, it's also how the first of her tattoos entered into it, because this sim I "merged" with her had that star tattoo on her stomach/hip, and I decided to keep it. Also drifted towards a darker skintone over time, smetimes just testing it out, then deciding to go more permantently with that when I generated her parents and I thought that the first version of her mother I ended up with looked like she might be Black (based on facial features, skintone I set manually) so I decided to go with that and a generally more multiracial look for her, which I've been very happy with. 

 

Story and personality also kind of changed over time, with me settling more and more on what sims were her friends, and the fact that I was using her in so many NSFW pics and galleries I put together, often together with sims that by that time I had defined as pornstars kind of meant that she was going to logically gravitate more and more towards that characterization as far as I saw her as well. 

 

I've got a couple more sims like that who have changed alot over time as I've reworked them or developed how I see them, though Thalia has probably gone through the highest number of changes over the longest timespan, with most other sims I've more often done one or two substantial reworks rathter than constant tinkering. Linnie is kind of another one, though her characterization has actually changed very little, and her appearance has mostly also just changed gradually as I've kind of had the same concept in mind for her all along, though I've gone through a couple of major overhauls on her face back when I first starting posting here. Of the sims I still use she's actually the one I'd say is the most freeform as far as appearance go, as I never replaced her, like I did with Thalia, with a sim created from scratch from reference pictures, though I have made edits to her over time (using reference pictures) to give her some more distinctive features than she first had.

I figured I should take some time and lay out my current thoughts on what I aim to include in the update I intend to do for my world (and what sims I want to include in it) before I move on to the third version of my world, which again is probably going to to be University stuff. 

 

First a note on some things that are holding me up at the moment, first is CC doors and windows having been broken by one of the latest patches, I'm not going to be making any further edits to the save until something comes along to fix this issue (likely a S4S batch fix, hopefully that will be soon). Second there is the issue of NPCC not having been updated in months, and its creator seeming to have gone AWOL. I've used that mod extensively to set up the NPCs of my world and I want to be able to continue doing so, but as the mod stays unupdated issues are sure to begin turning up and its looking like I might need to find some alternative means of controlling NPC spawns and role assignment. If someone knows of an alternative, be sure to to let me know, I'm not always so good at fnding mods. 

 

Then there is the issue of what I'm going to be working towards including. 

 

1. Mimi Landgraab and Ashley Alto currently live in San Myshuno, but I haven't done anything to actually set them up in their appartment. Here's where I got thinking some. I wanted to set up some townies as friends of Mimi and Ashley, in the fan wiki article for Mimi Landgraab it says she (and Dudley) knows all the members of the Roomies household, so I looked into that and decided that making soem townies based on these sims would make sense, and they don't even have to be roomies, it might actually be a bit more interesting to maybe just take one of the appartment buildings in San Myshuno and put the sims into different appartments in the same hall. I've decided I might not base myself 100% on the console version of the household, taking inspiration from the Roomies in Sims 3 is also an option as well as the one in Oasis Springs in Sims 4. I've not yet decided if these are going to all be remakes of single characters, composites of several different characters, entirely new sims or possibly pre-existing sims I have who can fit into such a household. At the moment I'm thinking of still having Mimi and Ashley have a fancy appartment of their own, but depending on how many sims I can get down to create or put in this version of "the Roomies" I might end up actually including Mimi and Ashley into the whole re-imagining as well. We'll see. 

 

2. Celebrity townies, this I feel is necesary. I've already deleted some of the celebrity towneis who come with Get Famous as most of them are YA versions of teen sims from sims 2 and sims 3 who in my world are still teens, and not celebrities. So I've decided that I want to drop some celebrity townies into my world, thinking level 3 and up. Here I want to restrict myself to Maxis sims and Urbs (though I don't want to do too many of these as I think I've got enough of these already) who kind of make sense to put down as celebrities, either due to their story naturally leading them to being famous or more out-of-game reasons, such as a memorable sim from one of the past games re-imagined in a celebrity role. 

Of course there is already "Mom" Landgraab in Del Sol Valley, and I'll throw in the Couture Twins I made and uplaoded a while back.

On top of that, tying in with the Couture Twins I'll be looking to add Cash Monet and Diva Roma who can also be set up with ties to the Altos due to thei rumors of them being involved with organized crime.

Then I want to include Goopy Gilscarbo, who I've been told is a quite popular townie sim from Sims 2 and beyond, and who's been referenced in item descriptions and other background fluff numerous times since then, also having a dish named after him in Sims 3, makes sense as a kind of social media/food blogger celebrity I think.  

Since I also need a headliner DJ NPC, and they might as well also be a big celebrity, I'm thinking I'll do a makeover of Windeburg's Candy Behr, because she's actually from a handheld game where she was known as DJ Candy "Supergroove" and was a famous DJ, two for the price of one is something I'll take and I think there's probably some who'd be happy with a(nother) makeover of Candy Behr. 

After that I'm probably going to have to do some digging to find out if there are anyone else I feel like doing that could add something (again, I think I've got enough Urbs here already). If someone has any suggestions for a sim from a past game who could be a fun inclusion, I'll be happy to listen. Outside of that I'm also leaning towards incuding a makeover of Judith Ward in Del Sol Valley, because I kind of like her look and would want someone like her in my world. 

 

A bit of a sneak-peak here as well, because I already began (but haven't finished in terms of warderobe, personality, traits and skills) making Cash Monet and Goopy Cilscarbo. Already quite happy with how they look. 

 

        

 

    

 

3. Restaurants. Mama Fusilli's, possibly do one for Mazuiko in San Myshuno instead of or in addition to this (I've now got a 6th stripper who can replace her at the Vanilla Unicorn so she can pursue her dreams of being a resatauranteur). Either restaurant needs staff, say 2 waiters/hosts and a one or two cooks. Some characters from Summertime Saga (I've been making sim versions of some characters from that game) haven been suggested for this for the Italian restaurant, I'll keep that in mind and see what I end up with. Having Ara Fusilli work at the Italian restaurant, if possible, could also be neat. For Mazuiko's restaurant the staff is perhaps a bit harder to think of, though one option that comes to mind is to use some of the sims from the Roomies household(s) I'll make as part of 1 be waiters there, to cut down on the number of new sims needed.

Ah dang I viewed her more of the housemate who just enjoyed going to the parties.

 

Strangely in the three worlds I set up before you started your save she ended up dating Jason in one and Tony in the other. By the third go around I just threw her in their social circle because of Ubrite. Though that save she ended up making out with Alexis.

 

None of that a comment on your choice just thought it was something weird/fun to share.

I won't let my enthusiasm and fanboying over Urbz get out of control but her crew from Urbz did act as employees at her rave/sushi bar plus Venus is just pretty lol.

Basemental added a lot of new pills, molly, and other stuff you'd find at some underground rave and a group based entirely around raving could be a good production source story wise.

It's just how I go about making sim warderobes, I always put costumes and miscellaneous outfits in the formal category because (in my experience) it sees the least autonomous use, so it's a decent slot to use to just "store" outfits that don't fit into any other category.

That said. If anyone wants to grab this sim as she is and use her in your game, I figured I could as well just upload her here to this post for those who want that. She only has one outfit (t-shirt and panties) and I just put on random minimum traits, I didin't bother trying to find tattoos that matched.

I spent a few hours on research to find decent pictures of her various tattoos (there are way more than I originally anticipated, I must confess....). One point about the comic, real pornstars wouldn't talk about it like that.
Porn is made just like any other kind of movie. What they are going to shoot is planned, then they keep doing takes until they get the shots the director wants. They aren't actually fucking (as in having sex and recording it), and it isn't fun. They are going through the motions and pretending to enjoy it.
A 20-40 minute video takes hours to film. There is a film crew watching the whole time, a lot of the positions they have to take to keep things in shot are very uncomfortable, and the participants usually end up feeling very sore and abused afterward.
A girl might get into it thinking it will be fun, then finds out getting plowed by a stranger with a 10 inch dick off and on for hours while a film crew watches the whole thing, isn't as fun as they thought it would be. Especially after it starts to hurt and they have to keep pretending to enjoy it,

There is a reason people who do porn, especially the girls, end up with dead eyes.

Yeah, there's always the reality of things to consider, though I honestly don't bother too much with it for the Sims. Sorry if it's offensive to you, but I never really meant anything I make or do to reflect actual reality and am sorry if I seemed to do this.
