Some Followers Break HDT Completely For Everyone Upon Game Load

Some followers like Ichigo standalone follower and Rosa Round Bottom is breaking the physics for all characters, npcs, followers etc.  No HDT hair, armor, necklaces etc.  See below for more information.

My question is why are some followers when equipped with an HDT necklace breaking all HDT upon a game load and how can this be fixed so that these followers can wear HDT objects as well without breaking the physics the next time the save is loaded.  I tried the steps below with two followers now that both break HDT, one was Ichigo and the other Rosa Round Bottom.

In all cases to test, I did the following:

+equip the necklace on x number of followers (see below for more details)

+save the game

+exit Skyrim

+start Skyrim

+load the save created above

scenarios tested (all are done following the steps above):

1) equip the HDT necklace on 3 followers, 2 with CBBE bodies, 1 on Myra with a custom standalone body.  Physics worked after a load

2) equip the HDT necklace on 3 followers, 2 with CBBE bodies, 1 on Ichigo with a custom standalone body.  Physics did not work after a load

3) same as 1 but I loaded the save with the physics not working and removed the necklace from Ichigo and put it on Myra and saved the game again.  Physics worked after a load

This shows that the physics issue is not because there are too many HDT physics objects, it's also not because of followers with custom bodies as it works on Myra but not on Ichigo and it also works on two other followers with CBBE bodies.  It seems like there isn't anything corrupted in the save permanently with HDT physics because of scenario 3 above, but maybe it's possible something is corrupted only for that npc in the save?

Looking at the Ichigo follower in Tes5Edit and comparing it to the other followers it doesn't look like there is anything special about it that should break the physics.  The NPC and Race look very similar and nothing obvious about why it would not work on one vs the others.

Could this be some problem in the nif files or some other files in the Ichigo standalone follower mod?  What in a follower mod could be affecting an unrelated piece of equipment not even in the same mod?  Could this be a collision box thing for the Ichigo follower that prevents the necklace from moving and somehow breaks the physics?  The necklace on Ichogo is sitting on her chest normally and visible when the game is loaded and the physics is broken so it doesn't seem to start inside her body or anything like that.

Any ideas?

Ichigo standalone follower mod?

I use her and she is problem free Asherz work is top notch so that is not the issue.... what necklace mod are you talking about? as are you using standard HDT or SMP or some other variant? More info is required before anyone can help.

Yes that is the follower Ichigo that breaks the HDT necklace:

This is the good follower that doesn't break the HDT necklace:

The necklace that Ichigo and other followers break with is the necklace form Myra (the above mod).  Use add item mod to add a copy of the necklace and equip it on Ichigo.  Remember to do the save, quit, reload.

I think i'm using standard HDT.

using XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended - XPMSE and nothing is overwriting the skeleton.  Use Mod Organizer.

HDT necklaces have been obsolete for many years now. Maybe just don't use the necklace at all.

What do you mean?  What's the new way to do it?  Where do you find mods with the new and improved replacements?

Also the problem probably happens with HDT hair too and likely any HDT equipment on those followers.

In the early days of HDT we used to have HDT enabled necklaces to enable HDT physics. Nowadays HDT is embedded into most modern bodymeshes and even if it isn't it's quite easy to add in the few lines in Nifskope yourself.

How do you add it in Nifskope?  The body HDT doesn't affect the necklace though right?

This is good information I want to learn but it doesn't solve the problem I described.  Can you help with that as well?

Can anybody help with why HDT breaks on some followers?

If the necklace works with the follower mod it comes with but not with other follower mods then the problem would appear to be with the necklace and its mod and not HDT or the other followers.

It works with the follower it comes with but also some other followers.  In summary it works with some followers (more then just the one it comes with) but not others.

You could try replacing the meshes, textures and skeleton of those characters, with the ones you use in yours.

The thing is I want custom meshes and textures so not all my followers look exactly identical in body.

I understand, then what you can do, it is in the bodyslide to create several custom bodies for each character and then make sure the textures are compatible. The skeleton must be the same as your character to make sure it works ... in reality, there is only one skeleton that works well.

What do you mean?  Don't you need custom races to have multiple bodies in game at the same time?  That's what's going on now to get the other bodies in game.  If you do this, don't you still need the races, and in that case how would this fix the issues?
