The reason I'm hear and not in the  Nexus forum is because the majority of my mods are from LL.  That being said I have skse (original) and have over a year wrapped up in dl mods from here and Nexus.  I received a notice from winzip for a free malaware scan and I used it.  That has turned out to be a HUGE MISTAKE because when I went to play Skyrim later it said that SKYUI was not running and all the mods that use SKYUI.  Told me it could be a bad skse (have 173 and never had any problems with SKYUI or skse)  Before all this i have been having problems w nmm running into a problem c install or it saying it needs to shut down etc.  I believe the problems started when I updated NMM.  I thought maybe if I uninstalled all my mods (around 300) and reinstall again I would be ok.  Still ran into the problem c install.  Next I might of jumped the gun by uninstalling NMM!  Now when I go on the sight (NEXUS) it wants me to download Vortex!  I want no part of Vortex, I just want my NMM back so I can try to reinstall my mods and hopefully the SKYUI issue is fixed and the NMM issue with poblem c install!

I do apologize for the length but I didn't want to leave any crucial needed info out. I have had good luck with you guys helping in the past.

Uninstall winzip and install 7zip.

...and as CPU said already: use 7zip for compressing files to add to NMM

RAR works too, but sometimes NMM has issues with it.

(means: 1 or 2 rar files made issues with my NMM in 3 years)

 

if you have more drives I would suggest to install everything outside of windows root folders or even on another drive.

Reason: to prevent issues with windows user account control, especially NMM seems to get hit with it hard (especially if installing mods with lots of folder/files)

I installed my skyrim outside of drive C and never ever hand any issues anymore to install even the biggest mods with NMM

Not a problem. I looked on github but couldn't find the actual dowload. I can never find anything on github.

I wonder why they made it that complicated to browse/download anything from there

Sorry, I must be slow today. So, why can't you delete everything, reinstall NMM from GitHub and download your mods? Is there are problem you run into when you do that and, if so, what is it (precisely) and when does it occur (specifically).

Because he didn't/doesn't know about github. He's tried Nexus but one can no longer download NMM so he was/is stumped until he saw/sees the github link.

Ok for some reason SKYUI wont work?  Not sure what to do now.  I only installed The patch cbbe skse and SKYUI to start it out.  I was still having the run problem c install, but I will deal with that (just takes a lot of patience and reinstalling).  Should I reinstall SKYUI or skse or both?

SKSE and SkyUI are two different things.

If you have not got SKSE installed correctly then lots of things will not work.

Let me suggest you go back to square one and follow Donttouchmethere's blog. I expect that you will then avoid the issues that you have had up to this point.

I have already posted and tried a few things.  Going to shorten this up as best as I can.  I ran a free winzip malware clean up and since then my SKYUI will not load correctly!  Me being Me I typically jump the gun and do rash things and cause more problems!  I uninstalled NMM and had to have help finding it again because all they have on the NMM is a link for Vortex!  After some very nice members from here helped me to find NMM I reinstalled that along w/ Skyrim patch, cbbe, skse and of course SKYUI!  I still was getting the problem c install in some but I will have patience and deal with that.  Whenever I start my game SKYUI is still saying error!  What do I do now?  Should reinstall skse and SKYUI?  I feel like such an idiot anything much more then that and Im over it!  Almost 2 years of modding down the drain for a stupid free clean up!

Whats the CBBE SKSE patch for? Any link?

 

If your SKSE is broken SKYUI will be the last of your problems^^

(best to install SKSE manually)

 

"run problem c install" => guess thats a warning from NMM?

are you trying to install SKSE via NMM? ?

I installed skse from steam I think. I installed SkyUI from nmm. What I am saying is everything worked fine for the past year and half or more. I used a stupid free malware removal like an idiot and it f****d me hard! I know it has to be that! The reason I keep bringing up SkyUI and skse is because right when my game starts up it says SkyUI not installed properly and says could be bad version of skse something like that. However I did not change anything on my mods before o got this horrendous fate breaking message!  What could have happened w malaware clean up and how can this be undone?

I’m going to try reinstalling but like I said everything was working for over a year and half. I do the malaware clean and boom everything screwed up w SkyUI or skse I just don’t understand why it wouldn’t be installed correctly when it was already running just fine

Quick question I’m sure it’s very obvious already that I’m not the most computer savy guy in the room! Would it be possible for me to just reinstall from steam like I did before? This did work for me before. I know you said forget the malaware thing but this messed up a file didn’t it? Never again will I ever attempt to fix what isn’t broken!

I don't know if anyone has seen any of my other posts but I recently did a free malaware clean up!  Turned out to be the WORST DECISION in my Skyrim history!  When I tried to play skyrim SKYUI was not working!  Jumping the gun as always I uninstalled all my mods and followed with uninstalling NMM!  Had to get help from nice people on here to find site to dl nmm!  Anyway I did and now I cant login to NMM site with my mods!  The page opens and it keeps telling me wrong username or password!  Despite being signed in to the main site with all the mods to download!  I cant even attempt step 2 until I get logged in!  Anyone got anything for this?
