How about adjusting the rape mechanic so that it can result in either rape (current setup), OR consentual sex? (no beating, no bad feelings, no alarm) Just consentual sex, out in the open, no beds involved, right wherever the proposition happened.

Consensual?

I mean you make an excellent proposition for outdoor sex/wherever sex (especially for the use of the exhibitionist quirk). But I can assure you that a right click would have done you wonders for that misspell. Although the forum definitively doesn't use the term often.

 

As far as new content goes, which has been pretty steady even if its mostly small quality of life changes or bug fixes, I think I'd like to see something like a sex need for non-humanoid pawns. Although I am positive it has been mentioned before that its not that simple and not worth the trouble, it would be nice to have to maintain needs of your pets in order to make sure your pawns aren't taken advantage of (like using prisoners or mark animals for breeding so it has an extra use to the toggles).

 

It could mean insect hives suddenly sending out groups after your vulnerable pawns or maybe taking away any of your downed ones that aren't already close to the hive. Maybe Dormant Mechs could wake due to sex need and return to dormancy after fulfilling it (okay that one is a little far fetched I admit).

 

But otherwise it would be cool to get an incentive to take care of your colonists even without non-humanoid sex needs. Like having to try and quickly retrieve downed colonists from the wilderness because 300% vulnerability could allow for wild animals to use them. Or even a different type of Manhunter that actually spawns a smaller group of animals with the randomly raping mental state. I managed that last one with character editor shenanigans and colony animals a few updates ago for the Idea, but I can't make it work anymore which is a shame cause it was pretty funny.

Dictionary.com says both forms (consensual and consentual) are correct and mean the same thing. It's not rando-prone like Wikipedia, so I'm inclined to agree.

well you can reduce minimum required intellect for sex need and everyone will have it,  but you can probably say goodbye to your fps

Pretty sure my shitty laptop would be giving me some evil eyes if it could for just thinking about it. But yeah I figured it wasn't plausible anyhow. Turns out new content that is also viable is pretty hard to come up with huh. Who knew? It still would be cool to have some more sex related events like the Nymph Raid but I don't think there is much variety that can be reasonably achieved without unrelated new content already being added. Using current content is kinda hard, its not like you can just have a raid of Prudes who just walk in and chastity belt/cage anyone they down or something ridiculous like that... wait a sec that sounds fuckin hilarious

The only 'hookups' I've gotten to work are when one pawn is sleeping, sometimes awake pawns will join them in bed. If I set a pawn to be a sex worker, they will spend their day doing general non-sex work and only rarely make an offer to another colonist, which is almost always refused because working. The extremely rare occasions it is accepted, both then waste time running over to a bed for sex. Neither of that is even close to what I described. And no other sex happens at all, because I turned off rape and bestiality.

 

And why would you need a merge? You have the necessary code already in play, the rape code. All you'd have to do is add a flag at the start of it to declare 'is this rape?' and then apply the appropriate effects due to the flag presence (either beating and mood malus, or Got Lovin' boost)

well probably something has been broken in 1.0-1.1, i dont even remember how it should work

ive been playing rw for like 2 weeks in 3 years and i find most stuff is acceptable, guess i have to check it someday

 

edit: actually it seems to be working fine, my 2 gay dragon-girls were fucking each-other often until they got married and now fuck each night

gay ratkin and bi kijiin slave also fuck each-other often, mostly that perverted rat going after kijiin

and last straight dragon-girl is usually frustrated, well... she does visit stables for big stallion dick, will probably become zoophile soon

so far 3 years in game 0 rapes, only that one dragon-girl goes on wild side, well you cant blame her, when only dick is colony is horse one

 

because i know there is already code for that somewhere, and ive been asked if it can be included, so why should i waste time to reinvent it, i'd rather review provided code and fix bugs if any

it doesnt work as simple as set flags

above is a perfect example, the more shit you add to framework the harder it will break and guess who has to fix and try to balance all that?

also "sex arcades" too abstract and sound stupid and i dont have much interest in that, so i doubt ill find enough motivation to write huge framework for that

I notice you didn't specify -where- the sex was happening. Other than the bestiality stuff, may I assume that it was all in someone's bed? As in a piece of furniture you usually sleep on? And I am talking about the actual sex act itself, btw, not the initial proposal to have sex. Because I did say fucking is happening in my game, it's just exclusively in the bed.

 

What I was proposing was sex happening anywhere else, out in the open, out in public, in the lab, in the dining room, in the crop fields, literally anywhere and everywhere. Right now, that specifically non-bed-related sex isn't happening unless it's rape or bestiality.

I'm not quite sure if this would be the right place to ask, but is there any mod out there that would enable harvesting RJW genitals/chest/anus parts from bodies, something like Harvest Everything/Harvest Organs Post Mortem does for normal organs/limbs? I'm playing a glitterworld ultra cosmetic surgery slash organ harvesting colony and that would help immensely if I could get the breasts, genitals and anuses harvested togeter with the bills from Harvest Organs Post Mortem.

 

Edit: Would it be too hard for me to write a compatibility patch of sorts for this kind of feature? It seems to me it would just be something like adding the genitals/chest/anus category to either of those mods, but I have no idea on how to even begin doing that besides prodding the source code for either mod and I'm sure thats not the right way to start.

Hey guys, quick question:
I had the feeling that pregnancys stopped, but they are just really slow. Like, WAY to slow to play with. It takes longer to become a father than a caveman building a spaceship.

I checked the Hediffs, and the pregnancy hediff seems rather empty. I was playing with the Idea of adding a <severityPerDay> somewhere, but there is no clue in the file about:

• How long a pregnancy is

• the severity gain per day

• at which point a child is spawned

• the max severity

 

I could set the mid stage to 30 and the late stage to 40 and all that, but that would just make her lie around longer I suppose.

so I have nymphs showing up. I can't recruit her at all though. She's currently a prisoner, and there's no "recruit" option. It's either execute or release. I do get an option to tame once she's released though. Is that a bug?

Nymphs are wild-(wo)men and basically coun't as animals (appear in the wildlife tab, can be man-hunters) which means you need someone who is trained in animal handling to break them in. That's just how this works.

So, there ya go. New content idea: Consentual sex everywhere, not just in the beds. I was also pointing out that this would be not very difficult to add, you could simply modify the current rape code a bit so that the result was either rape (beatings, mood malus), or consentual sex (got lovin').
