  1. 1. Sections and Games of the Site -> My point of view

    • The games we have are the ones we need
    • Skyrim and all variants (SSE, and VR) should stay in a single section
    • All versions of Skyrim should stay in a different section
    • Virtual Reality games (VR) should be organized by game
    • Virtual Reality games (VR) should be grouped in a single section
    • Differentiation of Adult and Non-Adult mods is good
    • Differentiation of Adult and Non-Adult mods is bad
    • Sections should be organized by game (Skyrim, Fallout, Honey Select, etc.)
    • Sections should be organized by producer/developer (Bethesda, EA, etc.)
    • Sections should be organized by type (RPG, simulation, point and click, etc.)
    • Adult games section is good as is
    • Adult games section is confusing
    • Some of the games of Adult games section should be promoted (post the name of the games)
    • Three levels section is OK (e.g. "Skyrim" -> "SexLab Framework" -> "SexLab Framework Tech Support")
    • Three levels for a game is too much and makes hard to find the right spot
    • I think this game should have its own spot (It is required that you post the name of the game, then a new poll question will be added)
    • Need a section for: [The Witcher 3]
    • Need a section for: [Starbound]

Hello,

this poll is to get a feedback of the structure of the site in terms of sections and games supported.

Be aware some extra poll questions may be added later (especially for other games that are asked to be supported.)

You can provide multiple answers, just avoid to vote for an option and the opposite one together (in this case your vote will be ignored.)

Let us know your point of view.

I would be interested in a new section for the Witcher series games. Though I have no idea if the amount of adult-oriented modders and mods would be enough to make that a relevant section ? (I marked  at the last poll option)

i have mixed feelings on some of these:

The games we have are the ones we need: for now i think we do, but things change.

Skyrim variant sections: for the most part i think it should stay as one, the mods are mostly the same anyways.

Virtual Reality games: how many are there? do any of them have serious modding communities (not counting skyrim & fallout)? i say keep them together for now.

Differentiation of Adult and Non-Adult mods is: for the most part i think it's good for the download section, but at the same time i think it's unnecessarily splitting up the forums. and why does SexLab have it's own section? it makes things confusing for uploading mods (Eg: is "Horny Creatures of Skyrim" a "adult mod" or is it a "sexlab mod"? fuck if i know because it's both)

Sections should be organized by: i would say alphabetically by game.

Adult games section: i'm not sure, i think it would be a mess no mater what you do, Eg: do you want to give 100000 shockwave/flash games each there own section? i think not.

Three levels section: sometimes ok, sometimes a pain in the fucking ass.

I think this game should have its own spot: maybe starbound? it seems to be popular for some reason. i would say M.U.G.E.N but they have there own adult website.

Witcher 3 has a few nude mods, nothing else. (Real nudes, not just retextures.)

Are months that there are no new real mods for it (just some minor stuff.)

But, why not? I will add this poll option.

I didn't mean to vote on an afterthought (witcher 3) and in fact if I ever have 39.95 to burn, I'll totally erase it.

Sorry about that.

And in fact, the way you have stuff organized is real nice,

and I almost wish you'd just say "I have this idea that I think is great, I hope you like it",

so I'd know how to vote.

I love your idea, whatever it is.

I'm not sure if I clicked the right stuff to show what I mean about Skyrim.

I think SSE should have its own category, separate from Skyrim, because the games aren't, in fact, the same, and a lot of what applies to one doesn't apply to the other.  I mean after all, if I remember right, Oblivion has its own place by itself, doesn't it?  (And so do the FallOut variations, and the SIMS variations.)  I mean, there isn't just a TES category, which then contains Ob + Skyrim; there's a Skyrim category, and there's an Ob category.  That's the way SSE and Skyrim should be.

I think having subforums for games from the same devloper is the best way to organize the forum, because if another game is announced or released then an extra subforum can be added.  Also, should a game subforum lack of activity then the actual subforum can removed or archived without messing around too much.

Why I mention this is simple because now have Bethesda released TES Blades, TES Legends and Fallout 76.

I think everything is organized fairly well here. I would like to see another game section for Witcher3 maybe since that game could use more LL in it's diet. I realize the game is not very mod friendly though. Cyberpunk 2077 is less than a year away from release as well. Maybe CDPR will make proper modding tools for it.

For a start, it all comes down to the question if word reaches the modders of those games like Witcher,  iiiiif they are willing to contribute their mods here aaaand if it gives them and others a few impulses and ideas for new mods.

The same goes true for every new game, that we would collect in that list.

I think, we would always have to look out for making it easy to start with. As an example: Skyrim has the engine running... many ideas in discussion, many mods where one can learn how to do it,  people around who explain stuff, players giving feedback ...

I admit that I have not yet taken the poll. Like MadMansGun I feel conflicted about the questions. A lot of them are yes, in this sense but no in another sense. I believe I have some idea what the staff are going for with this poll and so I am going to answer, as best I can, with "a wall of text" hidden in spoilers so as not to interrupt the flow of the thread.

About splitting off SE and adding more sections:

Spoiler

In my opinion this should be done on a simple mathematical model. If a game reaches a certain number of mods on LL's site, say 250, then it should get it's own section. The number should be determined, and posted, by the staff so there is no reason to think that they are "playing favorites." If the number of sections becomes too large then the numerical cutoff should be replaced with something like "these are the 5 games to get sections of their own since they represent the 5 largest number of downloads. All other mods will be placed in a miscellaneous section."

Thus if SE were to achieve the numerical cutoff it would get its own section. If a new game comes along and achieves that cutoff it would get it's own section. Finally, if the number of sections gets too large the games with the largest number of mods get their own section and the rest go into miscellany. It would also apply to VR.

About "translations":

Spoiler

I think this should also be done assuming that there are the numbers to justify it. Currently if you go to the Skyrim download page you have three subcategories to choose from: SexLab, Adult, and Non-adult. I would suggest adding a fourth "non-English." When a person clicks that they should get a page that lists those languages that have sufficient numbers to justify it's existence. It would also have a banner saying that other languages may be represented on LL but you should refer to the general (English) download page. That way if there is only a single mod in Swahili (for example) the staff doesn't need to create a new section for it. Unlike the downloads I have no simple access to the numbers of mods on LL in non-English languages so I can not suggest a cutoff as I did with "sections" above. I assume the staff have a good idea of the numbers and would be better at determining what would be appropriate.

I expect that I will get around to doing the poll prior to its being closed since there are other things listed that I do have strong feelings about. However, that will have to wait until I can sort out how to most appropriately answer the others.

Biggest problem, in my opinion, is that many threads are created in the wrong sections. We all make mistakes, and with many users, many mistakes happen to happen. Unfortunately, I don't think there's much the forum layout can do about that.

Two other issues:

Adult Gaming: what should go where? Where to post mod/game releases (from users), where to talk about existing adult games/mods (hosted elsewhere), where to ask for adult mods of otherwise non-adult games? It seems like it all happens in the base subforum, which has pros and cons. Pro: I see stuff I wouldn't have had the idea to look for. Con: If I'm looking for something specific, it's hard to find.

Also, there's still a SimLab section under Adult Gaming with a description about it being for Sims 3 & 4 (which have their own subboards for some time now); is it for Sims 1, 2 and 5, then?

The non-adult gaming section seems to be a bit pointless, as most threads converge to pondering the existence or possibility of adult mods ?

The Sims: There are so many threads with premades Sims, Animations and Translations all mixed together that it's difficult to find what one is looking for. Don't get me wrong, they are all welcome, but especially new actual mods are hard to find that way. Specialized areas for these three categories would be very welcome by me.

"Differentiation of Adult and Non-Adult mods is bad" - voted this because no one reads Non-Adult sections and since this site is mostly adult oriented all mods should be in main section of each game.

"Three levels section is OK" - also voted for this option but only if it's not exclusive to SexLab. If other modders could create or request their own mods sub-sections. If it's SexLab only then it's pointless.

Yes, but not everyone wants to see sex mods, let alone Pornographic Videos!
I know a lot of members (most females) who are not interested in sexmods and they move only in the non-adult section.
therefore it is good as it is. :classic_wink:

edit: and most of the people I helped, was in the non-adult section.

A bad decision. The distinction between Adult - Non Adult is important.
Loverslab is not a site that exclusively offers adult content. But a page that offers adult content that other sites do not have.

An essential difference - as I think.
If it were otherwise, all "Non Adult forums" would be empty - the reality says otherwise and that's a good thing.

I think the General section should either be moved up, or the off-topic section down. I feel as if the general sections gets too little attention down there at the bottom in any case. ;)

Also a help/support section for modders (Modding Help or Mod Creators Help) for Fallout4 would be nice as well. You see modding questions all over the place, in general Fo4 talk, in fo4 tech support, in Fo4 mods, etc..
