I had a prior version of Ivy loaded...to get the full goodness of Ivy 4.0, it looks like I'll have to start a new game.

Chik's voice acting is definitely worth it. It takes a bit of getting used to if you were used to the robotic voice, but now I can't live without it.

The thing is..I can't hear.  So voicing is out of the question for me.

Ahh.. I had no idea. But 4.0 offers more than just Ivy's voice, more content and features such as the added features in her holotape. :)

Does anyone know her ref (reference) ID?

I chose the Sanctuary Estates - Institute Version mod, so I lost Sanctuary's Basement.

So what you're saying is,

Endure the disorder of the building until her quest is finished and put Sanctuary Estates - Institute Version mod back to its original load order.

It will not work without Sanctuary's basement, period. Her quest, quest ID's and everything else is linked to that ref, inside Sanctuary's basement.

You can try to move Ivy below this mod in the load order, then it should be restored to what it was, but the Estate mod will not work as intended (or not at all). Also, you will not have the radio if Sanctuary is overwritten.

(Mod added as 'incompatible' to the VFaq, I didn't know about it yet).

I have Everyone's Best Friend placed before Ivy, since day one when I started coding her. I think you have a different issue.

AFT is not supported, see the VFAQ. :P

Thanks for the reply. I'll redo my mods and clean up some of them, will consult the VFAQ for what works and not.

Something important to remember when updating larger mods with a mod manager, Always uninstall the mod and then install the updated version, if you just update the mod and let the mod manager overwrite the existing files it will almost always miss some, especially if the mod moves from loose files to using a ba2 package.

Also it is a good idea to completely clear out all mod files every once in a while and reinstall everything to a clean folder. This will insure that any errant loose files are removed and mods will work much better.

I'm just popping in to say I am still in awe of Ivy. I use the Chic Geek version (awesome!). Today I learnt which place not to take her and why, and the story is quite shocking.

Time and time again, Ivy excels over every other companion mod by 100%. As I learn her back story, the mix of tragedy and the result that is Ivy is fascinating.

Reginald_001 - you must have bust a gut bringing us Ivy. And how can I thank you enough? And Chic Geek for her awesome voicing? I don't think I can do you both justice. What you have done is beyond the words I can give you.

All I can really say is that I seriously look forward to updates and what new things will come from them.

A heartfelt thank you!

Mutter? !  I can pm you with the answer if you wish...  ?

That's the one thing I HAVEN'T experienced yet. Hold on to that thought tho. One of these days I'll decide to quit tormenting my game and actually play it and it'll be a nice surprise. Or I'll get drunk and pm you tonight. You never know. :P

I enjoy Ivy. I've reached top affinity with her and I enjoy her company. She is a bit immersion breaking and I'm like, oh yeah, I'm playing a game. I'd like to be able to turn down her libido a little bit, seems everything turn her on. I'd also like to bring out more of her alter ego. I get the feeling that she doesn't really love me like she says, She won't give up her costumers without complaining and I wonder if it is Ivy the robot that loves me and if Debbie the human would turn on me or if she is just as in love with me as Ivy is. I'd also like to beat the crap out of that scientist that did this to her but he'd be dead wouldn't he, or to get revenge on the people that succeeded in capturing her, but then, maybe they were justified commoners or maybe they were jealous raider that wanted her powers. I do follow the story and I want to say thank you for working so hard on Ivy...That would turn her on by the way, that I just typed "hard on" lol. Sneaking through a raider infested factory I shoot one raider with a silenced "Deliverer" handgun that they hear 3 floors up and I've says "That made me wet, lets have sex. Right here right now." I'm  like "What?", "I...I...don't have the animations to do that."  BTW I have Margot Robbie as a face so I turned Ivy into a Harley look-a-like. I thought it fit. Anyway I do love Ivy and your mod and I enjoy her. Thanks for your hard work. I know it isn't easy.

If you go into Ivy's Service Menu you will find her profanity options, it should tone down her libido a lot.

As for what I highlighted in bold, questions about the robot, v.s. Debby v.s. who is Ivy really, what makes her Ivy?

More on that will come in the Nuka World DLC. :)

For those that use Ivy and Amazing Follower Tweaks together, there are some steps you might want to take to make the two mods play together a little more nicely.

AFT is a touchy subject here and I think that's because it's not obvious that there are steps you may need to take when using custom companion mods along side it.

(Disclaimer: I haven't had a single issue with AFT, it's always been at the end of my load order and companion mods always come before it. I never had to take these steps myself.)

With these simple steps, Ivy will not be managed by AFT when you recruit her, ensuring compatibility. (to my knowledge at least.)

  • Before taking Ivy as your companion, highlight her and use the AFT Master Control.
  • Select Mark NPC as Ignored.
  • Recruit Ivy.

If you already recruited Ivy, she's already been added to AFT's system. There are steps you need to take to remove her from AFT.

  • Dismiss Ivy and every other companion you have following you. You shouldn't have anyone following you now.
  • Highlight Ivy and use AFT Master Control.
  • Go to the Tools category and then select Unmanage NPC.
  • Highlight Ivy once again and use AFT Master Control.
  • Select Mark NPC as Ignored.
  • Ask Ivy to rejoin you. After you've got her to join you again, talk to all of your other companions that you'd like accompanying you.

I hope this helps people use Ivy and Amazing Follower Tweaks together. I for one know I couldn't live without either in my playthroughs. ?

                                                       compatible issue of mod

I've tried to adjust the load order, whether Companion_Ivy is at the very bottom or Sanctuary Estates - Institute Version on top, Can't see Companion_Ivy working properly. the basement's access of Companion_Ivy stayed lost.

Because I love this mod (Sanctuary Estates) with a lot of functional switch furniture, so IVY please let me forget it!

Hi reginald_001 ,

Would it be possible to add to IVY's Pip Boy control an option like AFT has for commanding Ivy to relax ie sandbox and a command to then follow .

Thank you once again for a great follower.

Thank you once again for a great follower.

A remote follow/stay command option would be much appreciated.

One day, when Llama ever gets the chance to get more recording time for Heather Casdin, a nice banter between the 2 would be a nice add. But, Llama doesn't know when she will be recording again. Ivy & Heather are my favorite, thanks @Reginald_001 for creating Ivy, and I can't wait for the DLC & Chic V.O.

Although the idea is lovely, it would require both mods to become dependencies of each other. Perhaps in 6 months, when the ESM is released, this can happen in some sort of plugin. But currently it would be a real hassle to set up. :)
