Mostly mods that touch companions and followers will overwrite her scripts. Try reinstalling Ivy by simply unzipping the file into your fallout 4 directory, thereby overwriting the scripts and anything that another mod might have changed.

On a side note I have spent a fair amount of time trying to find the reason the radio doesn't start, I have your mod installed from the beginning, and about fifty percent of the time the radio will not work when starting a new game. At this point I am thinking it has little to do with what mods are loaded and more to do with limitations on the game engine and the number of scripts that Bethesda has popping off during the opening scenes.

I even ran ten fresh starts up to concord, to rescue Preston, with an absolute minimalist mod load out and still had the radio fail several times. The only for sure certain way to have the radio fire is to have radio beacon initially disabled and only enable it once the player leaves the vault. Also the statement that many make saying that mods should never be loaded until you exit the vault is not correct, so long as the mods are set up properly they work perfectly from the very start.

I'm afraid it's something like that as well. I am thinking of a rather brute force approach of periodically checking if the scene is playing. If it is not, then it will kick the radio off to do so, or something like that. I've checked the support on some other companions offering radio channels and I see similar issues. I still think it has to do with the placement of beacon though, in some cases. I know for sure that some mods overwrite Sanctuary completely, so the radio beacon is not there.

Announcement: Ivy Workshop DLC 'Museum of Pornography' Coming soon!

BUILD YOUR OWN MUSEUM OF PORNOGRAPHY AT YOUR SETTLEMENT OF CHOICE!

NARRATED BY THE ONE AND ONLY INSANE IVY.

 

This DLC will come as a feature 'mini' DLC for Ivy and can be run STANDALONE without Ivy if needed.

It adds 16 items to the Workshop > Power > Misc. section, which you can place as furniture.

 

The items consist out of interactive speakers that players and NPC's can use by interacting with them.

When activated, Ivy will speak about the real history of pornography, with minor edits to fit within Fallout 4 lore.

 

An example of the robotic voice, exhibit 3 (hopefully Chick will do a rendition of these as well.. :) )

The 16 new items that can be built in your settlement are:

 

Start of Tour Speaker

- Place at the beginning of the tour.

- Adds Vendor income to your settlement

- Adds 15 happiness bonus rating to your settlement.

 

Exhibits 1... through 14.

- Place in the tour itself.

- Adds 1 happiness bonus rating to your settlement.

- Item has attraction keywords set so it should in theory attract settlers to visit the museum.

 

End of Tour Speaker

- Place at the end of the tour.

- Adds 1 happiness bonus rating to your settlement.

 

Each exhibit will advance further into the history of pornography in chronological order, in total featuring around 15 minutes of audio.

I got to say your work is 1st class and also the forum support is very impressive.

Regarding the radio I've been trying to make the radio not work I've installed quite a few different settlement mods while i was trying them out. I use Sim Settlements plus others and only once did the radio not function at right away but this was scripted lag. The settlement clearing mod I stuck with is Clean and Simple - Settlement Startup which makes all the settlements pre-scrapped but the author also re-nav meshed Sanctuary which makes my game run very smooth now even stopped the annoying npc shuffle.

May be its not a conflict but other mods starting up causing some sort of bottleneck.

Haha.. No this museum is pretty much the real deal, a real history of pornography through our ages, or what little we actually know about it! It turns out that nobody every really did scientific research about pornography or it's history, because according to most of the scientific community it is 'of no interest'... (little do they know.. but I digress)..

 

Anyway thank you for checking this issue with the radio. I can use all the help I can get in figuring out the issues with it.

So far I've had no luck in tracking down the issue.

 

I know it has something to do with the scene stopping. So perhaps there is either a mod, or a condition, that 'stops all running scenes' for a companions alias, causing the radio quest to stop running, or it's scene to stop being active.

Maybe have the radio start on player level instead off stage 15 MQ102 "[MainQuest]  Out of Time" . I would assume a lot of mods also set there stuff to start at that point and could be that which stop the radio . I dont have RSE installed but I have a 214 active esp's that include 5 or 6 of the quest/new loction mods and they are staggered start up over lvl's 1-5 maybe RSE or another mod that alters a lot of core game play is heavy on initial startup . I haven't got into scripting( this is something i really need do) I've only used TES/F04 edit so i might be talking aloud of rubbish lol .

That is odd. I pulled that list after playing a game with her in it and working properly (except for the radio). Also she's definitely in my load order from the main Mod Organizer interface. Anyway after looking between the two it's obvious MO's list is nothing like my actual present load order.  I'll get back to you if I can find a way to post my load order without taking ten screenshots of the MO interface.

 

edit: I copied my profile and there wasn't a new folder in the MO Profiles folder, so MO must be storing it elsewhere. Any ideas?

Yeah, printing out that right pane is . . . a pain. If you figure it out will you post how you did it? I keep forgetting to investigate. I've been using screenshots but if you get a large load order it won't fit. >.<

The left pane can be pretty haphazard in my experience. As long as things that are supposed to overwrite other things are after them it seems to work no matter how crazy the left side is as long as you got the right pane in order. I keep telling myself to learn up on this thing, then I never do.

In the profile folder of mod organizer you have loadorder.txt (right pane) which will display the order of esp's etc and the other file is modlist.txt (left pane) which display's the install order. Also I noticed you don't have FO4Edit merged.esp placed at the bottom of your load order which will really help for mod conflicts etc .I always do that no matter what setup i use and this resolves all sorts of issues .

As long as I been messing with this stuff I still don't understand what that's about. I mean, I got an idea just from the description but I never think to look into it when I have time to. I really need to look that up. (merged.esp) Thanks for the tip on the load order tho!

All that happens is FO4Edit scans through your whole load order then for example 1 mod will have edits to female skin textures and face and another will have edits to that female npc stats , keywords .So the merge esp will copy both giving a Female npc with altered skin plus changed stats,keywords etc from both mods and you can also edit it yourself. There are alot of you tube videos on it that will no doubt explain it a lot better than me.

I'm still working on finding as much incompatibilities as I can. But mods are unpredictable as there are many ways of approaching things.

Ivy sticks mostly to the core of things, using vanilla follower scripts, etc..etc.. Soon she will be an ESM for the public, forcing her load order, which makes compatibility even more of an issue. But doing so will allow addons such as the DLC to be released independently, so that users are not forced to own the DLC in order to play Fallout with Ivy. 

 

But as Ivy will soon be an 'ESM' this also means that overrides can be made in a patch ESP that can be used in the load order, so fixing an incompatibility will simply be a matter of making a new ESP in Fo4Edit, then overriding any incompatibilities into that new ESP.  You can force the load order of the new ESP.

 

So despite introducing more complexities and possible incompatibilities with other mods, it will also give greater control on how to fix those incompatibilities. :)

None of the DLC content is uploaded yet, I imagine we will first get the ESM version to test without any DLC, then we will start to get the Add-ons as they are ready.

It's basically a little radio mod that broadcasts radio plays by various sci-fi authors.  It's actually stand alone mod with no dependencies, but was inspired by WIVS radio, especially the sci-fi plays.  I've got a few little plans for it, but I need to learn a LOT more in the CK first (this mod is basically my "Hello World" mod) so whether it's beyond my scope is a different matter.
