It's not a setting or a bit to switch,  it'll require complete recoding of the mod for little benefits. Thanks for the suggestions but I really do like Ivy's setup the way it is. I'm working on ways for her to speak and interact more with other NPC's regardless of how she's coded though. ;)

Well, since I don't know much about that world of creating, I thought it would be simple. Oh well, it didn't hurt to ask, and hopefully no offense was given to your work and continued work.

Haha... no offense.. ask and suggest away! And considering you have a Bad Wolf Avatar.. I think you could away with most of anything...

mmmm Rose Tyler!!! Amy was my 2nd favorite. My whole name comes from The 10th Doctor.

I was wondering where I got the inspiration for one of my Ivy builds last month. Now it clicked finally (see screenshot below).. :)

In other news: Been working out some kinks in Ivy's base mod, fixed the 'super hero landing!' animation so you can actually see what's happening, fixed some other minor bugs, where Ivy says she will undress (it can make her gun disappear). And I added 4 major plot developing back stories to her Memory Archive inside the Service Menu.

For the ADA companion, simply dismiss Ivy when you must travel with her (to open the doors in the last mission), then recruit her again when that mission is over. ;)

Is there any news on that "one multi followers mod"(I hope it's AFT) support? ? Because I really don't want to dismiss Ivy... like there is literally no way I'm gonna dismiss her! Like ever! How could you even suggest that? She's the best follower ever created! And although in my game she works ok with AFT out of the box, it isn't good that there is content I maybe missed because of AFT.

No news. And there won't change much with Ivy in that regard, I'm sorry. I'm really focusing on making the whole Ivy experience better by adding more content. As all those multi follower mods work differently it would mean patches for all of them, released separately. We'll see what happens after the ESM and DLC releases of this winter. ;)

I am using AFT and, to be frank, I seriously do not think I missed much.  Yes, there are slight issues with AFT, but for me they are not game breaking.

I believe I've seen where the problems occur:  during one or two set scene conversations, I have seen a weird moment when people just stare at each other for a few seconds. I assume that's where Ivy's interjection failed to occur on that occasion. This happens very rarely, probably only 4 times for me in many hours of play and none of which made any difference in the overall game play. I have had many successful Ivy interjections which have been beautifully inserted into the game (they look like original game content! Awesome!).

A couple of days ago I followed the instructions posted on these comments for removing Ivy from AFT. I'm interested to see if this fixes it.

So my feeling is yep - there may be a problem allowing AFT to run Ivy. But at the end of the day that parts that are missed are not actually going to do anything to the game other than cause these rare blank moments in cut scenes. And given Ivy cannot alter the outcomes of the cut scenes anyway, it's just an inconvenience.

Happy to be shot down in flames if others have had a worse experience!  ?

Meanwhile - I am really looking forward to the coming updates!

I felt the same as you. But Ivy seems much more lively now without AFT. If you watch her you'll see her start to say something and glitch. You can see it. It's not often, but it happens. I don't understand how all that works of course, but It's true. Anecdotally speaking. I have Heather Casdin and Ivy right now and I have all my multi-follower needs fulfilled personally. But I also feel the pain of not wanting to give up AFT. I hear that loud and clear.

Some of that 'not talking' when she walks in the room is actually the chatter spam prevention doing its work. Often, vanilla companions will spam the same comments over and over. Once Ivy's said something about a place, it usually takes 24 hours before she will say something again.

In dev news today, I've been working on the radio a lot in the past two days.

Here's what's been added (so far!)

- 16 'sponsor' messages

These sponsor messages unlock as you travel the wasteland and Ivy meets sponsors (vendors).

- 8 different weather forecasts

Ivy now predicts the weather and does forecasts. She's usually a bit behind on the fact though. Or more.. 'on the spot', as she'll tell you exactly what weather it is... currently.. :P

- 23 'news' items.

These news items unlock as you progress in the game, unravel mysteries or when plain weird stuff happens. W.I.V.S. radio focuses on the stranger and weirder side of news.

- 16 new sci-fi trailers (making the total of songs/trailers now 50 for Ivy's radio)

More vintage trailers! Vintage trailers are fun! You can't have enough vintage sci-fi trailers!

I've also been working on my own personal mod, a player home beneath red rocket, called The R&R basement. Here's some shots so far, it's all workshop stuff. The mod is just an empty cellar space beneath Sanctuary. There is 1 large central area (kitchen, dinner table), there is a distinct bedroom area, a toilet area, 1 large living room area that has a broken wall behind it, looking into parts of a cave. And there is 1 large room for showing off power armor, should you want to. The workbench is connected to the workbench up top. So you can make the truckstop into a settlement up top, while you live down stairs. You can basically have your settlers collect food, water, junk and caps, while you live down stairs. :)

I finally learned how to properly navmesh so it's all navmeshed and proper, Ivy navigates the rooms like a pro and she likes to 'idle' in there a lot!

I might release this as well, if people are interested. The decoration.. that will be up to you. :)

Hi Reginald,

I started a completely new install of Fallout without AFT to see what the Ivy thing was about and damn I am actually amazed at things

I missed her saying and her reactions.  I was totally AFT for all the neat things it offered like pre built settlements, companion tweaks,

cheats and bits but honestly experiences a pure Ivy has made me glad that I did a fresh install and to experience Ivy the way she was

envisioned by you and as much as I will miss the great things AFT had I would rather have Ivy the way she was meant to be played.  I

do not use Heather or any other stand alone mod companions as I fell in love with Ivy from her first version and cannot look at any

other companion the way I do with Ivy.  From when she floored me with her revelation to when I gave her my spouses ring to move on

Ivy has been there and I cannot thank you enough for all the hard work you have put in to her especially your message that Ivy relayed.

This beautiful work of art you have created is the only thing that keeps me playing Fallout as she makes the game so much better than

any other companion vanilla or modded.  If Ivy was ever real she would be the perfect mate in my opinion as she she is funny, fierce,

complex and above all loyal beyond words.  Thank you again for the gift of Ivy.

Your Red Rocket Basement is a really cool idea. After all, left for over 200 years Ivy should have been doing something to fill her life waiting for her redeemer.

But (and there is always a but!) I use Elianora's Red Rocket home.

Elianora's Red Rocket does not have a basement, so if you create one it will need to operate comfortably with that, or other Red Rocket mods. I would be highly reluctant to lose my Elianora Red Rocket home.

This makes me wonder if the basement might be better situated either at the Sanctuary Root Cellar (where Ivy is already established) or a neutral basement / house location (like in another part of Sanctuary, or Concord - avoiding the current batch of extra Concord interior extension mods if possible)?  For example, Wasteland Barb is located in the nearest house in Concord to Red Rocket, where she is holding out against Raiders until you rescue her.

Therefore maybe Ivy can lurk in another house in Concord? It could be part of the back story, where Dr Stein left her or something - Dr Stein's home (full of interesting experimental goodies above ground) and his "gruesome" cellar laboratory area where he created Ivy. This is where she has been stuck ever since the war, and she has re-created the cellar into her own home as she waits for her redeemer....  All Dr. Stein's Ivy-creation experimental operating tables and kits could be there, forming a backdrop to her story and her player-home space.

'Tis but a thought....  ?

I'm really excited by your upcoming developments on Ivy. I am still finding new stuff from her. Awesome! She is absolutely the best companion on FO4. You should feel really proud of what you (and Chic Geek) have created!

Meanwhile....fancy making a version for Skyrim???  ?

PS - since disconnecting her from AFT I do not think I have had 'missed' speech points and, in fact, seen I have seen some extra ones from Piper, which surprised me. So this advice seems to work well.

Meanwhile, I'm working away on the mod, still fixing minor issues in the base mod.

Worked on (and almost finalized)

THREE ADD-ONS FOR IVY HAVE NEARLY FINISHED DEVELOPMENT:

1 - The Ivy Porn Collector Add-on which adds 10 classic vintage porn magazines as Perk Mags, added as very rare item to safes, each one adding a perk!

2 - The Museum of Pornography Add-on (Nearly finished)

3 - The 'Most Wanted' Add-On, which adds a class of 'Raider Stalker', they are either jealous customers that want to claim Ivy for their own, or have a contract and try to take Ivy as bounty. They are usually mid-level to boss level strength and are sometimes part of a raider posse.

Found one of the vintage porn mags! Each one has a unique perk!

Thanks you. I have been using AFM myself and it works pretty well with Ivy, of course, there's bugs and issues, but it works a whole of a lot better with Ivy than AFT does.

I'm about to download AFT to see what all the fuzz is about and will then look at the source to see where all these incompatibilities are coming from.

Don't keep your hopes up though, I'm not about to re-write Ivy just so she can be AFT compatible.

As I said, R&R basement is just a personal pet project of mine, unrelated to Ivy. :)

Also, I don't play Skyrim any more! ?

PS: Ivy was created around the time that Shaun was taken from Nate and Nora, roughly 55 years before (e.g. 2220).

She is basically a mix between a Gen 1 and Gen 3 Synth, mixed with a robobrain inside.

I find myself wanting to check every safe, raider duffle bag and raider boss out there for a new magazine.

They're pretty rare, but not so rare that you never find one so it seems balanced nicely.

When the radio item plays it catches the current weather. :)

As the fireworks weather sometimes uses DLC weathers (e.g. a shorter radstorm etc..) it will not be 100% correct, much like real life weather forecasts. :P

Oops, my error.

None the less, I think the two suit each other well. OK, the basement is free-standing, but it so suits Ivy you could offer it as an Ivy add-on. Well, that's entirely up to you!

As I said, my early worry is your basement planned at Red Rocket would need to be able to integrate with the more popular of the RR mods around.  Which was why wondered if using a house in nearby Concord might be safer. I think there are only one or two mods that affect northern Concord, one is an extra interiors mod, and a couple of other mods like Wasteland Barb, player homes, etc.  However, there is no Workbench in Concord so the idea could well be useless.

As for Ivy's creation, my apologies, yes of course it's post war (I had a senior moment earlier :classic_blink:!).

Yeah I'm thinking I can release it as well, not sure how to make it compatible though. The basement should be somewhere inside RR, it's the RR basement after all.

Niero's mod replaces the doors with load doors into an interior cell. So the only way to make the RR in there is to make another plugin ontop of RR basement which replaces it inside Niero's. Which is all a bit far fetched and weird. :)

We'll see. If I release it means 'support' and a lot of work and there's a lot of releases coming up anyway so if I do release, it'll be 'as-is'. :P

Bodacious indeed!

Tentative release date?

Well very soon I think, a matter of days.. It's pretty much unrelated to Ivy anyway. :)

I only need to move the entrance and it should be ready for a first release.

I'm not 100% sure about the respawn setting for all stuff inside.

But that will pop up soon enough, should it happen. :)

(edit: Placed the entrance just outside of RR, hope that settles any compatibility issues with other RR mods._

Something else, this was creepy a bit as it reminded me of Poltergeist, Ivy was just staring at the test screen.. ?

By all means, take your time. I'm trying to learn my way around SexLab for Skyrim anyway. This is really my fully first time to play Skyrim, I started out with LE in 2016 because my obsession...em, I mean love for all things Witcher, and the mods I kept getting for SLE would CTD. So I went back to The Witcher, 6-7 months ago I went back to FO4, got bored with it around a month ago to give SSE a try. I used OSex for LE & I liked the engine it had but, while CEO is somewhat back working again, I think there is still issues for it in SE.

Long story short, take your time, I'm not going back to FO4 for awhile again.

Do you know or remember what eyes you have? If I was any good at 3D modeling (who am I kidding, if I knew how to even understand is what I should say) I would try to re-create Rose Tyler. She would be my main squeeze in the world of FO4.

Now wouldn't that be a cool DLC Mod for FO4- The world of Doctor Who. Starting and Expanding from the 10th Doctor & Rose and ending with the 11th Doctor & Amy. Hmmm, I need to think about this more. While I may not be a coder or a 3D artist, that doesn't mean that I don't have any knowledge in the world of lite writing a story or 2. For those that are interested in Doctor Who, stay tuned, I may get this off the ground yet.

Red Rocket basement looks good and the external entrance would certainly work with Elianora's RR Home that I use.  I saw the "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" poster - that takes me back! I loved that series as a kid (and the film). That and Lost in Space. I'll shut up now before I start rambling on...
