sexbound Race Support Requests

Well, we would need permission for that. (Crikey, i feel like i am on repeat)

Someone needs to either contact the author, or have proof they've tried to at least in a couple ways (Usually Steam and ChuckleFish Forums).

Though, that said, if they don't respond, the species seems to either be in the abandoned category, or simply not updated anymore.

I think what they were wondering is how you make a character support mod. though I may very well be wrong and you got it right.

Umm... if requests are still being taken, I have one. The Callistan/Calliote/Calskies. I'm not sure if this one has been asked, but I thought I might give it a try and ask. :S

Since some races got a nono from their authors, but not from me, how can i make compatibility patches for personal use?

Well, i made tutorials (Albeit, with v3, some things changed, and i must get around to updating the details), but the general structure for the animations is the same. Dialogues and custom moans are the kicker of features that are currently not on the tutorial.

That should give all you need to know on how to do it.

After you get tools like Pakit though, you can always unpak mods for v3 and see how they do the things they do. I don't mind if people unpak the Avali support and check that. It has custom moans, dialogues, and all that stuff, should suffice as a example for any species unless you wanna make something really wacky.

 

That said, just, y'know, don't share publicly. If a modder asked we don't make support for their races, least we can do is respect that, as we've been allowed to keep doing our work by the rest of the community without interruptions so far. No mod has come out of their way to specifically brick your game if you have Sexbound, and it'd be nice to keep it that way.

Wanted to update on the Pony mod pack. A close friend of mine asked him for permission, and the author immediately resulted to insults and threatened blackmail (Despite having nothing to use as blackmail) So I would avoid asking him for anything in the future. I would also like to add this is the author's first reply to his question, and the never once said anywhere anything about point b. EDIT: He removed my comments, sooo you're gonna have to just read the ones he posted. Clearly someone in denial lol, but, don't want anyone else being harassed so just leave him be.

you may want to report c0bra5 because blackmail is breaking the law. just saying you have proof of them saying they use blackmail as threat. if i remember right you can get banned for blackmailing people on steam.

Yup, did just that. Bit of an update: He's been harassing my friends steam profile literally all day long today. Constantly arguing. He even got his friends to msg when he ran out of daily comments. Stay away from this guy. My friend did nothing except ask if it was ok. If you need proof, let me know. But yeah that's bust...

Remember people, if you want want to ask if a race can be added to Sexbound, try not to post on the Steam Workshop mod page.

The Steam Workshop for Starbound is supposed to be PG-13 (not that nsfw stuff leaks on there anyways.)

As a person who had the Lucario patch for Sexbound shut down before because someone mentioned it on my steam workshop page (wasn't asked prior so it came as a shock), having someone ask about adding the race to Sexbound can be bad PR for the species dev (as kids are using the mod and you never know if a parent will see the mod comments).

I never considered letting Sexbound Lucario Support return, until I was finally asked privately. We can give you a straight or more thought out answer in private as we may have to keep up appearances in public.

I'm only saying this to prevent future things like what happened with C0bra5

I 100% agree with this statement, I mean, it only seems courteous to do so.  After all, telling the whole world that you support a nude mod for your race isn't exactly good press.

There was absolutely zero way to contact him privately, trust me, we checked. His steam profile was private, and he had no discords or anything on it. We also made sure the question wasn't too vulgar. Despite this, could we maybe have tried harder? Yeah maybe, but it didn't give him the right to publicly harass us in the comments section (Which if he cared about children so much, he wouldn't have sworn at us like he did) and to then spend a day harassing my friend in his steam profile. It's courteous to not go off the wire like that. But yes, if he did have a way of private communication, we would have used that instead. He could've just simply deleted the comments.... he took it way too far, and too me, that's far far worse than what we did, which was at most slightly impolite.

Do we still have the permission for the Saturnians? I just found something weird when I played with Saturnian (CYB) and Thaumoth (CYB) supports. There's two extra races names Satkyterran and Saturnmothman. I had a Satkyterran crew member, which defaulted into human. which was like, weird. Then it got impregnated by my Saturnian who was also the person he was with, so it was a weird, weird day for me.

 

Anyhow... yeah. It was weird.

 

So, anyway, is there a chance for non-playable Saturnian races, Sakyterran and Saturnmothman, to have support? It's awkward to see one of my Saturnians become human...

The thaumoth are a separate race from the vanilla saturnian, and yes they do have permission if you read the description of the mod, vanilla saturnians also has permission on it as well. As for the two non-playables, I'll check it out if its a separate race or a npc type after work.

Sorry, suppose what I'm saying went the wrong way.  I am in NO way defending C0bra.  This was more of a backup support statement to what I've seen others in this discussion board do who would just flat out ask SxB permission through the race mod comments without thought.  C0bra use of (so called) blackmail and etc was beyond necessary... however it is common for a mod author to flat out disagree if asked in the race comments due to simply making a good impression.

I cannot defend the language or harassment at all. I was just implying that posting on the public steam page may lead to the person having to keep face, which sometimes may lead to a blowing up.

Trust me, I saw C0bra5's public rant about this on the #modding channel of the Starbound Discord.

Although I would like to suggest next time to look into the old ChuckleFish forums. Usually if a mod is REALLY old, like pre-1.0 old when it was first made, the modder is on CF forums. They usually have their DMs left open to talk about their mod or discuss stuff like compatibility.

If you want access to the Starbound Discord, you can check the DEV blog posts for Starbound as they linked an official ChuckleFish Discord in one of their developer blogs. From there you can go to the #starbound channel and click the link in the channel's topic to enter the Starbound Discord. Granted the Starbound Discord is official now, so it also should appear if you use the server search function Discord added last year.

I'm only adding this to make it easier for the next race someone wants to ask about.

To this community's credit though, the moderators of Starbound Discord did tell C0bra5 to be more polite and not cause drama (writing it down as a warning in their internal logs because the server owner has a bot that tracks these things). Even a large group of people not in the sexbound community didn't like the actions that were taken.

Judging from what was said C0bra5 has been asked before. You see it's the My Little Pony mod pack. None of these ponies are anthro(humanoid). They are all in the shape the cartoon depicts them in(feral: meaning animal shape). The cartoon is directed to children audiences that include under the age of 13. Most likely C0bra5 has a personal distaste for MLP porn. If C0bra5 was to accept NSFW requests in public comments, the audience for their mod would see that. Considering part of the audience could include really young children, it is nothing but trouble. Although there is a stereotype where fans of MLP are bullied for wanting to have sex with the ponies. Furries and Bronies sometimes don't get along with this because the ponies not being anthro is considered zoophilia, which even furries will report zoophiles to the police(most likely where the "blackmail" comes from). Even in MLP canon when the ponies become almost full human, they are underage.

The outburst is certainly not warranted either way but I can say I have met people like this in the past. One of which wanted me to remove boobs from the female lucario because they aren't canon. This was just a combination of keeping public face, bad timing, personal vices, and the Dev having past bad experiences.

um...guys? remember that some "kids" are classified as I think 1-12, and I think "teen" from where I live is classified as 13-17, 18-21 is "young adult", and above 21 is just "adult". yet when I was 16 or 17, cant remember, I was looking up Final Fantasy VII and I stumble on a site called... "aeris dies" I think? turns out I found my first adult site. yet I met online players on xbox one and the old 360 years that seen stuff like that at 14 or 15, and they kept that stuff a secret.
