Hi everyone! The next few diary entries are going to be shorter, since my main focus is on the case study of Groot's Solitude. I hope you'll enjoy reviewing that project and maybe learn some tricks that will help with your own modding projects.

Including Groot's mod, we started the day with 1,417 mods installed, 1,462 plugins active, and a final load order index of E9.

More Horseplay

Some idle browsing yesterday ended up taking me to this mod by vivi. It's a pretty high quality asset, but I've always had trouble finding a good application for it within the game. It struck me however that this is ideal for starting to build some outfits for the currently-naked Draenei NPCs that F.E.M.A.L.E. added to the game. If these cages are going to play nice with my game, I'll put together some basic leveled lists to give the Draenei some outfit variety including these toys.

We'll start by downloading Vivi's mod and also reactivated Horse Penis 1. For technical reasons, we will leave the Horse Penis plugin deactivated until I can fix SLEN's SOS cap.

Vivi's mod has no asset conflicts and does not require bodyslide use. We will need to watch out for possible mesh gaps relating to CBBE vs UNP conflicts, but I suspect such issues may be hidden by the device. The plugin is an uncompacted ESP with 27 records. We'll start our session by compacting it and adding an ESL flag. Cleaning revealed no errors, deletions, or ITMs, and the mod does not contain any navmesh.

Before we start making outfits, I want to understand a little better how these objects behave in conjunction with SOS parts, so we'll hop into the game and make a cut Futanari character. I suspect, at a minimum, that I'll have to add the pubic hair to these ARMA entries.

OK, something's not quite right here. We'll start by running all the assets through CAO in case there are incompatible LE files in there. Also, I'm pretty confident now that I will have to do the pubic hair for these, so I'll do that all before I go further.

Much better! And importantly, SOS is respecting the cage and letting it override the SOS mesh seamlessly.

Next order of business is to make the outfits for the Draenei. These actors already have custom leg parts and so we won't mess around with that. I'm also aware that in theory cock cages stay attached to the body on their own, but from an aesthetic point of view I don't think it's a great look, especially from far away. So let's put our Draenei in a harness at least.

Broadly speaking we want to set the costumes into two branches for dark and light colored parts. The steel cages will go with the light colored outfits while the blackened iron cages will go with the dark ones.

I'm mildly tempted to get DDE installed so I can draw on some of its assets. Let's grab it and look at what assets it has; on its own, the Falmer themed texture isn't enough to justify adding this one, but if there's a silver option also, that might clinch the deal.

Looks like DDE may be worth grabbing - it has several leather colors, a chrome pattern, the aforementioned Falmer pattern, and a rusty metal texture. Let's assess how much of a pain it will be to get DDE installed. No asset conflicts, which is good. The file is an uncompacted ESP with 1,932 records. It's a candidate for ESL flagging, but I'll hold off since I believe this mod is still in active development. The mod is clean and doesn't require any conflict resolution. So I think we are good to go!

Looks like we're almost but not quite to where we want to be. The harness isn't rendering for some reason, suspect it's a body slot issue.

Disappointingly, delving into the files reveals that my outfits won't work for now. I'm going to disable that part of the outfit leveled list for now and revisit it in the future.

Before I wrap up for the day, let's look at a mod that adds unique appearances for a couple of in-game items. It turns out, however, that LOTD already provides alternate assets for those items, so we won't use this one.

That's it for today. We wrapped up at 1,420 mods installed, 1,464 plugins active, and a final load order index of EA.
